Saint Joseph Church Mission Statement
We, the people of Saint Joseph Church, by the grace of God, born again in the waters of Baptism, seek to create a
community where our mutual faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior, encourages us to continue growing as disciples. We believe that discipleship is a way of life. We strive to show
that we are committed disciples, eager to welcome the stranger, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and comfort the bereaved. Inspired by God’s word and nourished by the Eucharist, we pledge ourselves to active discipleship all for
God’s greater glory and honor.

comprometidos, deseosos de dar la bienvenida al extranjero, alimentar al hambriento, abrigar al desprotegido y confortar al afligido. Inspirados en la palabra de Dios y alimentados

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
April has been an exciting month at St. Joseph Academy. We were fortunate to have some wonderful pro-grams for the children. On April 29, 2016, children’s author, Susan Rochester Zucconi, visited first grade, as well as other classes in the school. She read her books, “Crumby’s Carnival and Magic Show” and “The Crumbgrabbers Meet The Honeylou Kids.” In grades 4-8, she discussed her ex-periences about becoming an author. The children were thrilled to have her visit and autograph books that they had purchased. This visit was made possible by Ms. Natalie Ber-gamini of the Home School Association and a first grade class parent.
Background of Susan Rochester Zucconi As a little girl in Kindergarten class at Emma L. Arleth Ele-mentary School, Susan Rochester Zucconi had big dreams. Her dreams continued as she attended Emma L. Arleth Ele-mentary School through 6th grade. One of those big dreams was to be an author. She would spend days writing down her thoughts and feelings in her room in her home in Sayre-ville, NJ. While growing up as a teenager, she wrote po-ems which expressed her many moods and thoughts of a woman growing up, learning and experiencing life. Susan Rochester Zucconi is a children's book au-thor. She is a lifetime resident of New Jersey. Besides be-ing a children's author, she also works at Herbertsville Ele-mentary School. Susan has appeared at events where she gets to meet people and answer questions for them about being an author as well as participating in other events such Author Meet and Greets, Bookstore Events, Girl Scout Ca-reer Day, and Elementary School events. Susan says "Children are our future" so she spends time getting to know children, reading to them, and making a lasting impression on them. Some of her events include Girl Scouts on Career Day, Children's Hospices in the Tri-State area, and various Elementary schools throughout NJ including the one she attended as a child. Susan has been recognized in local NJ newspapers and on local channel News 12.
