May 17, 2020 ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH Purpose: Joyfully taking God’s love into the world! Next Sunday, May 24, Pastor Brian will be a part of our online worship service and give his first sermon! We are so excited for he, Natalie, Toby & Sophie to be a part of the St. John church family and have sev- eral ways you can welcome them: Following that online service, you are invited to head on down to the church as we are doing a vehicle drive-by with their family from 11am-12noon. Come in the southwest entrance off 8 th Street and vol- unteers will be directing traffic. Pastor Brian and his family will be outside the WEST main church doors to greet you — you can wave at them, introduce yourself, hang signs on your car to welcome them, basically show them and tell them how glad you are they are here (while maintaining social dis- tance). If you own a business and your vehicle has your business name on it, you are encouraged to drive that. Or if there is another way you can set your vehicle apart so it is memorable, you are encour- aged to so as one way for Pastor Brian to begin making a connection to who you are :) You are also invited to give their family an online gift card (preferably purchased from a local business) and email it to [email protected]if you feel comfortable doing online purchases. OR wait to purchase a physical gift card until you are comfortable doing so and bring it with you when we resume in-person worship services.

Cards for Seniors Initiative
To help keep our oldest members of our congregation
connected with their church family , we'd love to con-
nect our older members with younger ones through
cards, drawings, and letters. This is perfect for our little
ones to be a part of — but persons all ages are invited
to take part ! If you are interested in being a part of our
Cards for Seniors initiative, contact the church of-
fice and Jenny will provide you with the name & ad-
know how many addresses you'd like to receive. Thank
you!
Inspired by Generosity: Stimulus Check Giving We have all been impacted by this pandemic differently. It has been inspiring to receive calls from both mem-
bers and regular attenders — learning that they will be donating part of their recent stimulus check. Not be-
cause they don’t need it, but because “someone else may need it more”. We are continuously amazed at the
level of generosity and selflessness that we come across daily even during times of crisis. Thank you!!!!!
Graduation Milestone
This year’s High School Graduation Milestone is still going to

so we, their church family, can celebrate their achievements
