EL LLAMADO DE DIOS La persona que ha sido “salvada” y que ha “oído la buena noticia de salvación” sigue viviendo en un mun-do que no ha sido salvado, un mundo tristemente in-consciente de la presencia de Dios. Las lecturas de hoy bosquejan cómo el discípulo se hace presente al mundo. Ese perfil se inicia con Isaías: “Comparte tu pan con el hambriento. . . abre tu casa al pobre sin techo. . . viste al desnudo” (Isaías 58:7). Los que escuchan la pa-labra de salvación no son insensibles a las urgentes ne-cesidades de los demás. Pablo le recuerda a su rebaño que él le trajo a Cristo no con elocuencia o sabiduría, sino que permaneció con ellos “débil y temblando de miedo” en medio de su trabajo diario (1 Corintios 2:3). Finalmente, Jesús dice a sus discípulos que vayan a la desesperanza y oscuridad de las calles del mundo y de-jen que la luz de Dios brille a través de sus obras bue-nas. Los discípulos no salvan el mundo. Sin embargo, si nosotros hemos escuchado la Palabra de Dios y hemos empezado a discernir su presencia, podemos proclamar esa Palabra y traer esa presencia a los demás.

LENTEN MISSION 2020 Fr. Jewel Aytona, CPM
Mark your calendars for St. Henry’s Lenten Mission which will be held Monday March 2 through Thursday March 5. Adoration and confession will be held for an hour each day beginning at 5:00pm. The mission presenta-tion will follow at 6:00pm. This year’s Mission will be presented by Fr. Jewel Aytona of the Fathers of Mercy. The Fathers of Mercy is a Roman Catholic Congregation of Priests whose primary Apos-tolate is preaching parish missions and re-treats, with an emphasis on the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and Confession. Fr. Jewel Aytona, CPM, is a missionary preacher with the Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy in Auburn, KY. He travels through-
out the country conducting parish missions and retreats, spreading the good news of the Mercy of God and the teachings of the Catholic Faith, nourishing souls with the Bread of Life and being an instrument to reconcile souls with God. My catechesis on the Seven Capital Sins will resume next week.

The Equestrian Order of The Holy Sepulcher of Je-rusalem, Southeastern Lieutenancy, is offering a pil-grimage to the Holy Land for the period of Septem-ber 22 to October 2, 2020.
