Dear Parishioners, In today’s Gospel, we are reminded that it is
never too late to turn back to Jesus and seek out that personal
relationship with Him. Our God is loving, merciful, and generous.
He forgives sinners, seeks out the lost, and desires to bring
everyone to the joys of everlasting life. The Sacraments remind us
of that great love God has for each one of us. This past Easter,
due to the pandemic, we were unable to celebrate the Easter Vigil
the normal way. Those who were preparing to receive the Sacraments
and be fully initiated into the Catholic faith were unable to do
so. Last weekend, the Catechumens received Baptism, Confirmation,
and their First Holy Communion. I wanted to thank Byron Sharp and
the RCIA Team for helping prepare the 13 adults and children who
received the Sacraments. I also wanted to thank Candace Pedroza for
helping to arrange and set up for our liturgies and coordinating
the logistics. Let us continue to pray for these new Catholics! In
Christ, Fr. Jeff Baker

generoso.
Baker

Reading 1 Is 55:6–9 Seek the LORD while he may be found, call
him while he is near. Let the scoundrel forsake his way, and the
wicked his thoughts; let him turn to the LORD for mercy; to our
God, who is generous in forgiving. For my thoughts are not your
thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD. As high as the
heavens are above the earth, so high are my ways above your ways
and my thoughts above your thoughts. Responsorial Psalm Ps 145:2–3,
8–9, 17–18 R. (18a) The Lord is near to all who call upon him.
Every day will I bless you, and I will praise your name forever and
ever. Great is the LORD and highly to be praised; his greatness is
unsearchable. R. The Lord is near to all who call upon him. The
LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and of great kindness.
The LORD is good to all and compassionate toward all his works. R.
The Lord is near to all who call upon him. The LORD is just in all
his ways and holy in all his works. The LORD is near to all who
call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. R. The Lord is
near to all who call upon him Reading 2 Phil 1:20c–24, 27a Brothers
and sisters: Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life
or by death. For to me life is Christ, and death is gain. If I go
on living in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. And I do
not know which I shall choose. I am caught between the two. I long
to depart this life and be with Christ, for that is far better. Yet
that I remain in the flesh is more necessary for your benefit.
Gospel Mt 20:1–16a Jesus told his disciples this parable: “The
kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire
laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with them for the usual
daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard. Going out about nine
o’clock, the landowner saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
and he said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard, and I will give
you what is just.’ So they went off. And he went out again around
noon, and around three o’clock, and did likewise. Going out about
five o’clock, the landowner found others standing around, and said
to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ They answered,
‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You too go into my
vineyard.’ When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to
his foreman, ‘Summon the laborers and give them their pay,
beginning with the last and ending with the first.’ When those who
had started about five o’clock came, each received the usual daily
wage. So when the first came, they thought that they would receive
more, but each of them also got the usual wage. And on receiving it
they grumbled against the landowner, saying, ‘These last ones
worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who bore
the day’s burden and the heat.’ He said to one of them in reply,
‘My friend, I am not cheating you. Did you not agree with me for
the usual daily wage? Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to
give this last one the same as you? Or am I not free to do as I
wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?’
Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last.”

requested, the specific nature of the request, and your name. Your
personal updated information is greatly appreciated.
No
Salió otra vez a media mañana, vio a unos
¿O vas a
tenerme rencor porque yo soy bueno?’ De igual manera, los últimos
serán los primeros, y los primeros, los últimos”.

Glory to God Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to
people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we
glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God,
heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only
Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take
away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the
sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right
hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy
One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus
Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.
Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of
heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in
one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the
Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God
from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of
the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified
under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose
again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He
ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and
his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the
Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has
spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and
apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of
the world to come. Amen.
alabamos, te bendecimos, te adoramos, te glorificamos, te damos
gracias, Señor Dios, Rey celestial, Dios Padre todopoderoso. Señor,
Hijo único, Jesucristo; Señor Dios, Cordero de Dios, Hijo del
Padre; tú que quitas el pecado del mundo, ten piedad de nosotros;
estás sentado a la derecha del Padre, ten piedad de nosotros;
por nuestra causa fue crucificado en tiempos de Poncio Pilato;

An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy
Sacrament. I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You
were already there
and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated
from You.
Amen.
DID YOU KNOW Consider setting up a “classroom” for safe internet
use If your child’s school distributed iPads or tablets to help
with distance learning this fall, consider setting up a designated
place in your home for your child to use these devices. Knowing
what your child is doing online is made significantly easier if he
or she is using a device in the kitchen, or family room, where you
can periodically check in. While the school may have installed
basic content filtering software and limited access protections,
parents should review the device protections before letting
children use them. For more information, visit
https://lacatholics.org/did-you-know/

Pope Francis’s Prayer to Mary during Coronavirus Pandemic
O Mary, you always shine on our path as a sign of salvation and
of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at
the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of Your People, know what we need, and we are
sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee, we may return
to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the
Father and to do as we are told by Jesus, who has taken upon
himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows to lead us, through
the cross, to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.
Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do
not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us
from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
Amen!

School-Non-Discrimination Policy for 2020-2021 The school,
mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for
all, admits students regardless of race, color, national
origin,
and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and

The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color,
