Sankofa Institute for African American Pastoral Leadership at Oblate School of %eology will host Moving Forward – A Gospel & Jazz Concert and Gourmet Dinner on August 12, 2018 from 6-8:30 pm at the Whitley %eological Center. %e concert will feature Lemelle Taylor and the Chosen Generation Band. A gourmet dinner, prepared by Chef Don, will
be served from 6-7 pm, with the concert to follow from 7-8:30 pm. Limited reservations are available. Attire is semi-formal. Tickets are $75 and include both dinner and the concert. Tables for 8 are $600. Net proceeds from this bene"t will provide scholarships to allow men and women serving in African American faith communities to pursue higher theological and ministerial education. %is bene"t concert is part of a year-long celebration of the 5th anniversary of the Sankofa Institute. Our Parish Festival celebrates our community to thank God for all of our blessings at St. Francis of Assisi. As our biggest party of the year, the festival committee has more fun behind the scenes than people know! Make new friends and join in on the fun by becoming a
member of the festival committee. %e "rst committee meeting is Tuesday, June 26 at 6 pm in the Emmaus Room. %e following meetings will be on the last Tuesday of each month leading up to the festival. - DFF's regular monthly gathering set for Friday, June 15, 2018 has been CANCELLED. Instead, we will have a social after the ASL signed mass on Saturday, June 16th.
- Friday, July 20, 6:30-8:30pm: Instead of our regular DFF evening, Fr. Guy will lead us in a workshop on the parts of mass! Please bring light snacks and drinks to share with everyone and arrive on time so you don't miss anything.
- Saturday, July 21, Fr. Guy Blair will sign mass in ASL at OLGS, Confessions will be from 4-4:45pm; mass will be at 5pm, and we will have a social from 6-8pm. Please bring a light snack or drinks to share with everyone.

Vacation Bible School is June 18-22 from 9 am-12:15 pm. Online registration is open at www.sfasat.org/vbs. %e earlier you register, the better! You won’t want to miss out on Shipwrecked VBS: Rescued by Jesus! Each day we will focus on Bible stories and a Bible point that will lead us closer to understanding God’s great love for us. Children 4 years-"nishing 4th grade can join us in elementary VBS. We wouldn’t leave middle schoolers stranded! Middle school VBS is for children "nishing 5th grade-entering 8th grade. Are you older than that? Join the castaway crew! We need volunteers 9th grade through adult. It takes a crew of about 100 to make VBS a magical experience for our kids. FAITH FORMATION REGISTRATIONRegistration for faith formation (elementary, middle school, EDGE, Life Teen, and adult) for the 2018-2019 school year is now open online at sfasat.org/faith-formation/registration. Please note that we have added a new 12:30 pm class on Sundays for elementary students as an additional option to choose from. Register early to secure your desired class day and time.

Heavenly Father, you entrusted your Son, Jesus, the child of Mary, to the care of Joseph, an earthly father. Bless all fathers as they care for their families. Give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience; support them in the work they have to do, protecting those who look to them, as we look to you for love and salvation, through Jesus Christ, our holy redeemer.
