MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL... As we enter the home stretch of this school year, we would like to thank all our parents and volunteers for helping to make our school as great as it is. We couldn't do what we do at St Davids without our amazing volunteers, our unsung heroes. Parents, grandparents, and community members unselfishly give of their time every day to assist in classrooms, organize special events, deliver hot lunches, help supervise field trips, etc. They do these things for no other reason than they care! They also help ensure the academic growth, safety, and well being of every student in our school. Thanks to Mrs. Rougoor who helps the milk program run smoothly and Mrs. Hoffmann who ensures that we have a great lunch program. Thanks to Mrs. Kemp, Mrs. Carmichael, Mrs. Stranges, Mrs. Parliament and Mrs. Fenwick for delivering hot lunches each week. We also appreciate those who are able to help out every once in a while when we are in a pinch! Thank you to our wonderful Parent Council for their continued efforts throughout the year in making St Davids such a rewarding and fun place to be. They make such a wonderful difference at school. Thanks to our parent council chair, Mrs. Parliament, and vice-chair, Mrs. Devries for their efforts on behalf of all St. Davids parents. Thanks to all the parent council members for their dedication to our students. Thanks especially to those who bake delicious treats for the sale monthly. Thank you to Mrs. Cardiff and Mrs. Rougoor for reading with our students on a weekly basis. Thank you to Mrs. de Hek for working in our grade 3 class each week and to Miss Richards for her help each week. Thank you to Mrs. Winter for being such a wonderful support in our primary division. Special thanks, also, to the St Davids Lions for their kindness and generosity to us. They have made their mark on us and are an integral part of who we are as ―Dragons‖. April’s character trait is Optimism. One of the most valuable investments we can make for students is in their character. It is the foundation upon which they will build all future successes. We are fortunate, at St Davids, to have a vibrant community dedicated to the success of every student in our school—not some, not most, but all students. I often tell our students that our goal is for St Davids to be the best school in the world. It is the "working together" nature of our community that inspires us to be optimistic and continue trying even when things get difficult. Knowing that you have a cheering squad and someone to support you in taking risks makes all the difference! Let's be tenaciously optimistic, dragons! ST DAVIDS SCHOOL DRESS CODE As we anticipate the warm weather, it is important to remind our students of the St Davids School Dress Code. Please be assured that this dress code is the same in our neighbouring schools. The dress code applies to all students JK to grade 8. ● Clothes bearing written statements or images that do not promote a positive and safe environment,
that are racist, suggestive, in bad taste or advertise alcohol, drug and tobacco products
● Short-shorts, short skirts (finger tip rule)
● Halter tops or spaghetti strap tops (3 finger rule)
● See through tops, backless tops, or mesh tops
Bare midriffs are not permitted, and no exposed undergarments please.
This is the time of year when staffing is underway for
next year. In order to verify our student population for

P is for Puberty
Talking to your children about sexuality and puberty helps them to grow into healthy adults. It is
good for children to have the right information. Sometimes the information they get from the media
or their friends may not be correct or understood. In May, the Public Health Nurse will be coming
to talk with the Grade 5 students. A letter will follow shortly.
