This week 20 of our K-7 students participated in the

provided instruction, crafts, and fun. On Tuesday, a

were able to view the beautiful stained glass windows,
the daily Mass Chapel, the crypt where several of the

Please note! Fr. Brian holds an anointing service on
Fridays immediately following Mass. Why not take
advantage of this wonderful opportunity?
For the past 16 years, On Point for College has helped more than
5500 1st generation youth get into college, stay there, and succeed
afterwards.
We help with finding financial aid, fill out the forms, and get the re-
sources to survive and succeed. We drive them to colleges, visit
them to help stay on track and go to their graduations. Since 2008
we’ve helped them get jobs after graduation. We started from the
trunk of a car in 1999.
The On Point for College Tree will be in the gathering space until August 9th. Please help us fill backpacks again this
year by choosing an item(s) to purchase . Items can be placed back under the tree by the weekend of August 8/9.
(Only new items, please). Last year with your generosity, we supplied all the bedding and filled 16 student backpacks.
Thank you for your support!
On Point for College, Inc. is dedicated to making higher education accessible to low-
income youth who have the desire and the will to continue their education, but who
feel college is out of reach due to economic, academic and other barriers.

The pantry is in need of drink mixes, peanut butter and jelly and cereal. There are many of our
families who will not have the schools to rely on for breakfast and lunches during the summer.
Please be generous.
How I spent my summer vacation!
I would love to ask any of our 30 teens from St. Charles-St. Ann and St. Joseph
what their highlight of the summer of 2015 was. I know after this past week, that
these young men and women would say that spending a week with 28 children from
Brady Faith Center was better than any trip to Darien Lake or to the beach. St.
Ann’s school was full of all sorts of activity from July 13 th through the 16th. The
theme for the week was “The Neighborhood – reaching out to our Communi-
ty”. Our teens and children created a handmade village called “Bradyville”. Each
morning they worked on one aspect of the village, then we met for prayer, followed
by our song “If I Were a Butterfly”, followed by the scripture lesson for the day and
crafts. We visited St. Charles Church on Monday and met with Deacon Tony who
taught the children all about what a Deacon was and how we worship in our Sacred
Space. On Tuesday, the Taunton Fire Department brought down a Fire Truck and
taught the children about their job in the community and fire safety. On Wednes-
day, we visited our neighbors across the street in assisted living at Bellevue Man-
or. We made placemats, centerpieces and flower clips and performed our song
for them – what a great visit it was! Then on Thursday, we had a fun day of kick-
ball, obstacle course challenge, water fun with the sprinkler and a carnival of face
painting and games. None of this would have been possible without the commit-
ment of the teens from St. Charles-St. Ann’s and from St. Joseph’s in Camil-
lus. They mentored one on one with each child and a lasting friendship was
born. Some of the children cried when they had to leave on the last day – we all
felt the sadness. Thanks to all the adults who helped us, thanks to both of our
Food Pantries who helped to cover the cost of the needed food and craft items – it
was community at its best, working together to give our neighboring children from
the south side a great fun week!

THE GLENMARY SISTERS were founded in 1941 by Father William
Howard Bishop and have been serving as living examples of
Christ’s love in action in the rural, small town mission areas of
America for over 60 years. Many Americans do not realize the
tremendous amount of spiritual and material poverty that
exists right here in the US.
The Glenmary Sisters minister to all God’s people regardless
of their race, creed or lifestyle through compassionate out-
reach and ecumenical efforts. Sister Sharon Miller will be at
our parish the weekend of August 8th and 9th to tell us more
about their ministry. She will speak at each Mass throughout
the weekend. If you would like to learn more about the
Glenmary Sisters, please visit their website at
www.glenmarysisters.org.

ST. ANN’S FOOD PANTRY
"Summer is here. Please don't forget the food pantry. We have a greater need as the children are out of school. The pantry is in need of tuna fish, peanut butter and jelly, snacks, kool-aid, canned fruits and vegetables. Thank you."
Just a reminder that we have gluten-free hosts available for those
that need that accommodation. They are approved by the Celiac
Association and the United States Bishop’s Conference. Simply
come to Father Brian’s line at Communion time.
****Please note!! Bible Study will NOT meet during July and August. We will resume our Saturday Morning Study
in September. Enjoy your summer!!

RESPECT LIFE
In continuing to talk about euthanasia, we have to address the ques-
tion most often hurled at pro-lifers: “Who are you to tell me what to
do?” Our response should be that we do not relish giving people
directives. Rather they are the ones who are opening up a can of
worms by pushing to make euthanasia legal. Giving people more
options is not always the best. In this case, more options will end
up being far more burdensome to society than freeing.
Priests for Life
In today’s gospel, Phillip worried about “enough food” for the crowd. What is ENOUGH? When does our ENOUGH de-prive another family of their fair share? Jesus performed today’s miracle because one child was willing to share and risk living with less. Can your family live more simply so that other families can simple live?
May God Bless the good men and women who serve in the
Armed Forces especially for risks taken, for sacrifices
made and for living bravely in the midst of real and con-
stant danger. We ask God to watch over them and keep
them safe.
