St. CANICE'S CHURCH WAS BEGUN BY FR. JAMES GORMAN, P.P.WHO LAID THE FOUNDATION STONE IN 1824, HE DIED IN 1826 AGED 65 AND WAS SUCCEEDED BY HIS NEPHEW, V.REV. JOHN GORMAN, P.P. V.G., WHO COMPLETED THE CHURCH. HE DIEDIN 1869 AGED 81. BOTH ABOVE PRIESTS WERE NATIVES OFBALLYRAGGET.

A daughter, Margaret Bambrick died December 1871 aged 19 Also above James Bambrick died January 12th. 1879 aged 77. Also a son,Patrick diedMarch 22nd. 1882 aged 30

Buggy, poet and author of "The Saxon Shilling".He died in 1843 (Daniel O'Connell preached his panegyric; and is buried in Belfast where he was an Editor.

Erected to the memory of the Rev. Richard Francis Greene, C.C. son of Major Joseph Greene, formerly of Shandon, Dungarvan, afterwards of Waterford. He mastered the Irish College, Paris, December, 1826 leaving 5th.August, 1832. Curate of the Church of St. Canice from April 1833 to September 1838 when ill health compelled him to retire from his sacred duties.He died. at Kilkenny 14t h February, 1839 Erested by his nephew, Richard Greene, F.R.C.R.E.
