Davidson 93, St. Bonaventure 64 (2/14/20)A red-hot first half shooting effort from visiting Davidson set the tone and sent the Wildcats to a 93-64 victory over St. Bonaventure in the Reilly Center.
The Bonnies (17-9, 9-4 A-10) built much of their impressive start to conference play last year, which came one win shy of matching the best in program history at the time, on lockdown defense, but the Wildcats sank shots early and often to build a large lead during the opening 20 minutes.
The Bonnies led early, opening a narrow 16-13 advantage behind eight quick points from Osun Osunniyi.
Davidson then embarked on a 20-2 run that gave the Wildcats a 33-18 cushion with 7:30 left in the half.
SERIES HISTORYThis will be the 15th meeting between the teams and the 11th since Davidson joined the Atlantic 10. The Wildcats hold an 9-5 series lead and have been Bona’s nemesis in recent years, winning seven of the last eight meetings. The lone Bona win in that stretch - a triple overtime thriller Feb. 27, 2018 at the Reilly Center that was key to Bona reaching the NCAA Tournament as an at-large that March.
The first-ever meeting between the schools came in the 1970 NCAA Tournament when the Bonnies won, 85-72, en route to that year’s Final Four.
TRENDING NUMBERS 2 – Among all Atlantic 10 guards, Dominick Welch ranks second in the league on the glass with 6.4 rebounds/game.5 – Kyle Lofton had a career-high five steals at Saint Louis. It was the first time a Bonnies player had at least five steals in a game since Jaylen Adams had six vs. Yale Dec. 9, 2017. 5 – Osun Osunniyi had five blocks at VCU. He also reached that total at SLU on Feb. 6. He now leads the Atlantic 10 this year with 2.6 blocks per game, a total which ranks 14th in the nation.6 – St. Bonaventure had six COVID-related cancellations during non-conference play. Due to a team pause on Nov. 19, the Bonnies went from being slated to having the very first Division I game of the season Nov. 25 at 9 a.m. in Bubbleville vs. Towson to being one of the last teams in the nation to play their first game Dec. 15 vs. Akron.7 – Osun Osunniyi handed out a career-high seven assists in the Jan. 13 win at Fordham, the most by a Bonnies center during the Mark Schmidt Era. Osunniyi has had three or more assists in a game four times this season. 10 – St. Bonaventure ranks 10th in the nation in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 38.9% shooting from the floor this year. 11 – Alejandro Vasquez provided a spark off the bench Jan. 15 vs. Duquesne, scoring a season-high 11 points. He scored in double figures eight times as a freshman, but that game was his first such performance since Feb. 1, 2020 vs. George Mason. It is one of just two times this year a Bona player has scored in double figures off the bench - the other was when Jalen Adaway posted 12 at Duquesne Jan. 23.12 – The Bonnies are averaging nearly 12 offensive rebounds per game, leading in the A-10.23 – The Bonnies are one of 23 Division I teams with five or more players averaging 10+ ppg. All of Bona’s five starters average double-figure scoring. The Bonnies have used the same starting lineup in all but one game this year.27 – Bona handed out 27 assists on 32 made field goals Jan. 6 vs. SJU - it was the most assists in a game by the Bonnies during Mark Schmidt’s 14 years as head coach. Bona is averaging nearly 15 assists per game, ranking fourth in the A-10.32 – Kyle Lofton moved into 32nd all-time in Bonnies scoring last Friday with 1,128 career points, passing Caswell Cyrus ‘00 and Marcus Posley ‘16. 36 – Osun Osunniyi has 36 career games of three or more blocks, including four of the last five contests.63.3 – St. Bonaventure ranks first in the Atlantic 10 by allowing 63.3 ppg. 67% – After a late December and early January cold spell, Osun Osunniyi is again returning to form offensively. The junior has shot 67.7% from the floor in the past five games (21-31).90 – When Davidson scored 93 points against the Bonnies last year, it represented one of just three times SBU has allowed 90 points or more in regulation since the 2016-17 season.+130 – Despite being outsized in most of its games, the Bonnies are +130 in points in the paint this year. The Bonnies have been outscored in the paint just once this year, that coming at SLU on Feb. 6 when the Billikens owned a 20-18 edge in the painted area.

BONNIES BEST A-10 STARTS• St. Bonaventure opened the year with its best start to Atlantic 10 play in
program history at 7-1 in conference action. Here’s how this year’s start stacks up with the other best starts in Bona A-10 history (the Bonnies joined the A-10, then known as the Eastern 8, for the 1979-80 season). The Bonnies now have a .672 winning percentage (80-39) since 2014-15 in A-10 games.

Prior to that, the last time the Bonnies opened a season with a better overall record was the 1969-70 Final Four campaign when Bona began 12-0. In 1967-68, the Bonnies went 22-0 during the regular season and won their 23rd consecutive game in the NCAA Tournament vs. Boston College, rising to No. 3 in the national polls. Other 9-1 Bona teams and their ultimate finish: ‘56-57 (17-7, reached NIT); ‘58-59 (20-3, NIT); ‘60-61 (24-4, NCAA Tournament), ‘63-64 (16-8, NIT).
NATIONAL ATTENTION• St. Bonaventure recently completed a perfect 7-0 month of January.
Following that, the Bonnies picked up 19 voter’s points in the AP Top 25 to stand 32nd overall in the voting released Feb. 1. A week prior, SBU finished with six voter’s points and placed 41st overall. Ten voters ranked the Bonnies inside the Top 25 on Feb. 1 with the highest rank-ing coming from Dayton Daily News writer David Jablonski at No. 21. In the coaches’ poll, the Bonnies received eight votes to slot 33rd overall in the Feb. 1 poll.
NET RANKINGS• The Bonnies are ranked No. 41 in the NCAA NET rankings as of Thurs-
day, just behind VCU which slots at No. 31 and Saint Louis (33). Also in the Top 100 from the A-10: Richmond (54), Davidson (71), Rhode Island (88) and Dayton (89).
ST. DUNKAVENTURE• The Bonnies have put their high-flying athleticism on display
throughout the season with many rim-rattling dunks. The team has recorded 37 dunks so far this season, led by Osun Osunniyi (16) and Jalen Adaway (aka “Flight 33”) (12).
ADAWAY NAMED A-10 CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK• St. Bonaventure redshirt junior Jalen Adaway has earned Atlantic
10 Co-Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced Monday. Adaway was red hot over the past week, averaging 21.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and shot better than 72 percent from the floor in a pair of games. In a Feb. 9 victory over La Salle, the Indiana native delivered a game-high 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting, adding eight rebounds and also went 6-for-7 at the line. Feb. 12 at VCU, he made it back-to-back 20-point performances for the first time during his Bonnies career as he poured in a game-best 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, again adding eight rebounds while he also went 5-for-6 at the stripe. Adaway shares Player of the Week honors with Jordan Goodwin of Saint Louis. Adaway was also named Big 4 Hoops Player of the Week for his efforts.
ELEMENTARY, MY DEAR JAREN• Jaren Holmes has been a spark plug for the Bonnies since joining the
program last year, but particularly this season. He averages 14.8 ppg during Atlantic 10 games. He was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Jan. 11 following a 38-point outburst vs. Saint Joseph’s. He was limited to just 90 seconds of action in Bona’s loss Dec. 30 at Rhode Island, greatly impacting the outcome of that contest. His 42.3% 3-point percentage during conference games (22-52) is also best on the team. Foul trouble has been an issue lately: Three early fouls hampered him in road losses at Saint Louis and VCU.

ANOTHER TOP FIVE FINISH• St. Bonaventure finished fifth in the
A-10 season rankings last season. That marked the fifth straight year of the Bonnies finishing fifth or better in the A-10 season standings.
WELCH IMPROVEMENTDominick Welch was one of the A-10’s most improved players a season ago. His numbers year-to-year vs. his fresh-man campaign: 2018-19 2019-20 GP-GS 25-20 31-31PPG 7.5 11.9RPG 4.4 6.9MIN 29.2 35.5FG % 38.8 39.93-PT % 36.1 36.5FT 12-24 (50.0%) 43-56 (76.8%)
TEAM CAPTAINS• This year’s squad boasts four team
captains – juniors Kyle Lofton, Jaren Holmes and Osun Osunniyi as well as redshirt junior Jalen Adaway. Only Lofton has served as a team captain previously: he is in his third season as a team captain, earning those honors for the first time before ever playing in an official game during his freshman season. Bona’s team captains are selected each year by a vote of the players at the start of official practices.
ALL-STAR TRIO• When Bonaventure’s star junior
trio of Kyle Lofton, Osun Osunniyi and Dominick Welch have all been available for a full game, the Bonnies are 37-10 since Feb. 12, 2019.
COMING UP CLUTCH• Kyle Lofton hit the game-winning
three-pointer in the Jan. 2 victory at Richmond. It continued a streak of Lofton coming up big in clutch situations: He has shot 50 percent (3-for-6) in attempts to tie or take the lead in the final 35 seconds of games during his Bona career. Since 2009, that is one of the best totals for any Bonaventure player: Matthew Wright: 2-for-2 (100%) Jaylen Adams: 5-for-8 (62.5%) Matt Mobley: 3-for-5 (60%) Marcus Posley: 5-for-9 (55.5%) Kyle Lofton: 3-for-6 (50%) That doesn’t even include other clutch moments such as his 3 to clinch last year’s Boca Beach Classic title, a three in a 65-64 game vs. FAU with 50 seconds left, or a key 3 at Duquesne last February to break a 77-77 tie with 1:14 to play.
LOFTON’S LOFTY NUMBERS• Kyle Lofton was the nation’s ironman last
year, leading all Division I players at 38.4 minutes per game. Over the past two seasons, Lofton logged 2,463 minutes of action. During that time, only one player in the nation – Jordan Ford of Saint Mary’s (2,547 minutes) – registered more playing time, though Ford did so in 68 games, three more games than Lofton’s 65.
• Lofton led the Atlantic 10 in assists (6.0 apg) last year and was named First Team All-Conference - the fifth straight year the Bonnies have had a player named First Team All-Atlantic 10.
• He was also named NABC First Team All-District as a sophomore.
• His 186 assists last season rank third in SBU single season history.
• Has started every game and has at least one assist in every contest the past three years.
‘SHOON SWATS• Osun Osunniyi has proven himself to be
one of the nation’s top shot blockers. His 185 career blocks stand 11th among all active Division I players. More impressively, his nearly 2.6 blocks per game rank third among all D-I players. Also, his 8.2 rebounds per game over his career stand 25th nationally among all active Division I players. He has been named to the A-10 All-Defensive Team each of the last two years. Osunniyi finished the regular season in ‘19-20 ranking second in the Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage (61.5%), behind only Dayton’s Obi Toppin, fourth in blocks per game (2.5) and fifth in rebounds per game (8.4). Osunniyi was the ONLY A-10 player to rank in the top five of each category last season.

fickle, but defense can be a constant that allows winning teams to weather offensive droughts. The Bonnies have been one of the A-10’s best defen-sive teams in recent years: In addition to leading the conference in scoring defense this year, SBU has limited A-10 opponents to 60 points or less 22 times since the start of 2018-19. The Bonnies allowed 61.4 ppg in conference games in ‘18-19, 69.1 ppg in ‘19-20 and 61.8 so far this year.
ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS• Jaren Holmes turned in one of the best single-game performances in
recent Bona history when he scored 38 points in a win over Saint Joseph’s on Jan. 6. He was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Jan. 10. A look inside the numbers: - Holmes’ 38 points are the most by a Bonnies player since Courtney Stockard delivered 36 points vs. Dayton on Jan. 19, 2019. No Bona player has scored more points in a single game since Jaylen Adams went for 40 twice in 2018 – 40 at Duquesne Feb. 3, 2018, and 44 vs. Saint Louis Feb. 7, 2018. Holmes’ 38 points are the most by any A-10 player in a single game this season. - The eight three-pointers from Holmes doubled his Division I best of four set last December vs. Hofstra and are the most by an SBU player since Matt Mobley delivered nine treys in the 2018 Atlantic 10 Tournament vs. Richmond. In fact, a Bonaventure player has only hit nine or more 3-pointers in a single game three times – Mobley twice and Adams set the program record of 10 in the 2018 Saint Louis game. - The 38 points from Holmes ranks tied for eighth all-time in Bonnies single-game scoring efforts inside the Reilly Center, tying the 38 points scored by Bob Lanier vs. Fairfield Feb. 8, 1969. Lanier also holds the record of 51 set Feb. 24, 1969 vs. Seton Hall.
ADAWAY’S ADDITION• When the Bonnies finally played their first game of the season Dec. 15 vs.
Akron, Jalen Adaway returned to the court in the season-opener for his first Division I game action in 648 days after playing two seasons at Miami (OH) and sitting out last year as a transfer. During his sit year, head coach Mark Schmidt said at times he was the best player in practices and consistently forced the rest of the team to match his energy level.
• He tallied a career-high 24 points on 11-of-12 shooting Jan. 6 vs. Saint Joseph’s. He added back-to-back 20-point games vs. La Salle (20, Feb. 9) and at VCU (23, Feb. 12).
• For the season, he ranks second in the A-10 by shooting 59.6% from the floor and is also fifth in offensive rebounds per game with 2.3.
• Adaway leads the team in true shooting percentage (64.6%) and effective field goal percentage (60.6%).
• Jan. 23 at Duquesne, he went on a personal 8-0 run in the final two minutes, helping to break a 55-55 tie and send the Bonnies to a victory. During that stretch, he added two blocks and two key offensive rebounds. He was a gametime decision and did not start for the first time this year due to strep throat and played the game under the weather.
Lofton, Osunniyi Named Preseason All-A-10
The conference’s head coaches have selected St. Bonaventure junior Kyle Lofton to the 2020-21 Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Second Team and classmate Osun Osunniyi to the Third Team as well as the All-Defensive Team.
As a team, the Bonnies were selected fourth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
Lofton was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection following last season and also earned First Team All-District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). He was the only A-10 player to hand out six assists per game during his sophomore campaign, finishing the season with 186 which ranks third in program history. The national leader in minutes played at 38.4 per game, he served as the team’s floor general in all 31 games while averaging 14.1 points per contest. He led the team in scoring while shooting over 45 percent from the floor and 41 percent from long range during conference games and he finished with double-figure scoring in 25 games last year. Nationally, Lofton finished the year ranking 21st among all players in assists per game and 20th in total assists. He previously earned spots on the A-10 All-Rookie and All-Tournament teams following his freshman season.
Osunniyi was also an Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team selection as a sophomore, earning a spot on the All-Defensive and Third Team all-conference squads. Despite missing all or most of eight games last year due to injury, he again ranked among the conference and national leaders in a host of categories.
The 6-foot-10 center, who hails from New Jersey along with Lofton, also ranked 21st nationally in blocks per game and 40th in total blocks (59) though everyone ahead of him on the national charts played more games – in most cases at least five additional contests. He became the fourth player in program history to be named to the A-10’s All-Defensive Team in multiple seasons after doing so in his freshman year as well.
While Osunniyi is on the A-10’s preseason All-Defensive team for the second year in a row, he joins a shortlist of Bonnies to previously receive that honor: Youssou Ndoye (2014), Andrew Nicholson (2009, ‘10, ‘11), Marques Green (2002, ‘03), Caswell Cyrus (1998, ‘99) and Tim Winn (1999).
This season marks just the fourth time since 1999 that the Bonnies have had multiple preseason All-Atlantic 10 honorees and the first time the program has done it in back-to-back years. Both Lofton (Second Team) and Osunniyi (Third Team) registered the recognition last year as well.

THE BIG MAN IN THE MIDDLE• There’s little denying the impact junior center Osun Osunniyi has on the
Bonnies. When he’s played 18 minutes or more the past two seasons, the Bonnies are 28-7. Here is a look at the Bonnies in those games (since the start of 2019-20) vs. the games where Osunniyi has been limited or out due to injury. SOPHOMORE ACTSophomore guard Alejandro Vasquez had flashes of brilliance in his debut collegiate season. When he began the season in the starting lineup, he became just the third true freshman during the Mark Schmidt Era to start his first collegiate game, joining Lofton and Jaylen Adams. His finest performance came in a November upset of Rutgers in Toronto’s ScotiaBank Arena, when he was named the Naismith Classic Player of the Game for his 20-point effort. SHOW THEM THE LOVENCAA.com college basketball expert Andy Katz ranked St. Bonaventure at No. 9 on his list of top-10 programs deserving of more love in an October story. The list also includes Saint Mary’s, Florida State, USC, Xavier and Oklahoma among others. He lists the work of Mark Schmidt as a key reason for his respect for the Bonnies: “They always sneak up on teams in the A-10; no one likes to go there, it’s not easy to win there, and they always have great guard play.” One of Bona’s reasons for that great guard play is obviously Kyle Lofton. While Lofton struggled a bit with his shot coming off an offseason injury last year, he got better as the year went along. During Atlantic 10 play, he shot over 45 percent from the floor (92-202) and 41 percent from distance (25-61), a mark that was seventh in the league. ATLANTIC 10 ACES• In the past six seasons, St. Bonaventure is the only Atlantic 10 team to reach
at least 10 victories during conference play each year. During that time, the Bonnies have the third-best winning percentage in the league overall (2014-15 through Feb. 15, 2021): School Record Win Pct. 1. Dayton 88-33 .727 2. VCU 81-37 .686 3. FEBRUARY IS WINNING TIME• February has traditionally been very good to Mark Schmidt’s Bonnies. Since
2016, Bona is 32-12 in February and have won 20 of its past 27 games during the month.
NO SENIORS, NO PROBLEMSt. Bonaventure is one of the youngest teams in the nation this year with zero seniors on the roster. It is the first time a Bonnies team has not had a single senior since the 1981-82 season when the head coach was Jim Satalin and the athletic director was Larry Weise. The Bonnies are one of nine teams in Division I without a single senior this season, joining Auburn, Belmont, Colorado State, Florida, Memphis, Rice, Tulane and USC Upstate. VETERAN LEADERSHIPSt. Bonaventure, despite not having a single senior, is also one of the most veteran teams in the Atlantic 10. The Bonnies have four starters back from a season ago. Five of Bona’s top six scorers from the 2019-20 campaign all return as well – Kyle Lofton (14.1 ppg), Jaren Holmes (11.9), Dominick Welch (11.8), Osun Osunniyi (10.8) and Alejandro Vasquez (6.3). During Atlantic 10 play last year, 95 percent of the Bonnies’ scoring came from freshmen and sophomores (1,194 of 1,252 points).
BIG A-10 WINSSt. Bonaventure has already had some memorable moments in conference play. Jan. 2, the Bonnies defeated preseason A-10 favorite Richmond, 69-66, on the road when Kyle Lofton drained a three from the top of the key with 2.8 seconds remaining. Lofton finished with 16 points while Jaren Holmes poured in 17 to down the Spiders for a huge A-10 win. Jan. 20 vs. VCU, the Bonnies scored a Top 50 NCAA NET win with a huge comeback vs. the Rams. Down 15 at halftime, the Bonnies roared back to outscore VCU 45-14 during the second half, holding the Rams to 5-for-26 shooting from the floor to score a 70-54 victory.
BEASTS ON THE BOARDSSt. Bonaventure boasts four players in the A-10’s top-17 rebounders this year (starting the week of Feb. 8): Osun Osunniyi (9.3 rpg, 3rd), Dominick Welch (6.5 rpg, 13th), Jalen Adaway (6.3 rpg, 12th) and Jaren Holmes (5.9 rpg, 17th). On the offensive glass, Adaway is sixth (2.3 offensive rpg), Osunniyi is 7th (2.3) and Welch is 13th (1.9).

100 YEARS ON“The basket ball craze has struck the college at last. It was rather slow in coming, but when it did strike, it hit hard ... If we are to judge by the enthusiasm and all the talk that is going the rounds, we have several players of stellar transcendancy in our midst. This will, no doubt, result in a great many spirited games.” - The Laurel, March 1901 • SBU celebrated its 100th season of basketball last year• Though basketball existed at St. Bonaventure dating
back to at least 1901, a decade following the invention of the game by James Naismith, the first intercollegiate team suited up for the 1919-20 campaign following several years of intramural games and starts and stops due to lack of a proper court.
• The construction of Butler Gymnasium (still standing on campus today footsteps from the Reilly Center) put the wheels in motion for intercollegiate play, but its comple-tion was halted due to World War I. Finally, the first game was played Dec. 11, 1919 in the newly constructed Butler Memorial Gymnasium as the first Bona team defeated a group of alumni, 29-18. The season continued with games vs. Seton Hall, Cathedral College, Grove City College, Westminster, St. Francis of Loretto, Canisius, and Duquesne, with a season record of 6-10. Richard Phelan was the first coach after joining St. Bonaventure College as a professor from Niagara.
BONNIES BASKETBALL AT 101• Though records of basketball at St. Bonaventure go back
to at least 1901, the first official intercollegiate season was 1919-20
• The Bonnies have sponsored a team every year but 1943-44 when the program was halted due to World War II
• The Bonnies have 1,371 victories all-time and a winning percentage of .564
• The program has registered 66 winning seasons, 44 1,000-point scorers and 33 players drafted by the NBA
• In all, St. Bonaventure has recorded 16 seasons of 20+ wins and 24 post-season appearances as well as 61 players who have been named Atlantic 10 All-Conference
• St. Bonaventure has been to the NCAA Tournament seven times – including the 1970 Final Four – and the NIT 16 times – highlighted by a 1977 national championship
• The Bonnies became a national powerhouse during the 1950s, posting a .686 winning percentage during the decade – ranking 17th in the nation over that period
• The program only grew in prominence – a .724 winning percentage during the 1960s ranked 12th nationally while the team rose as high as No. 3 in the national Top 25 multiple times
• The program had a .600 winning percentage or better in the 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s
• The Bonnies are in another “golden era” under head coach Mark Schmidt – the program had a .599 winning percentage during the 2010s and their average of 19 wins per year is the highest of any decade in program history
• St. Bonaventure is one of 38 schools to both reach a Final Four and win an NIT championship
• St. Bonaventure’s 99-game home winning streak at the Olean Armory from 1948-61 is the second-longest home court win streak in NCAA Division I history behind only Kentucky’s 129 from 1943-55

2016 ATLANTIC 1O COACH OF THE YEARCOACH OF 2016 A-10 REGULAR SEASON CO-CHAMPIONS
• The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball program has reached unforeseen heights under head coach Mark Schmidt, who has now completed 13 seasons in charge of the program. St. Bonaventure’s all-time wins leader, Schmidt has keyed the return of the Bonnies to national prominence and as one of the Atlantic 10’s finest.
• Though the 2019-20 season was cut short due to COVID-19, Schmidt’s Bonnies continued their streak of rising to the top of the A-10 with their sixth consecutive season of double-digit conference wins, the longest active streak among all Atlantic 10 programs. SBU scored 19 victories overall, the seventh year in a row of 18 or more wins, and finished fifth in the A-10 regular season standings - the fifth straight year the program has finished in the league’s top five. At the end of the season, sophomore point guard Kyle Lofton gave the program five straight years with a First Team All-Conference selection.
• A young Bonnies squad in 2018-19 represented one of Schmidt’s finest coaching jobs as he guided a freshman-laden team to a 12-6 A-10 record and a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship Game. It marked the fifth straight year of double digit conference wins, a program first, while Bona’s 85 A-10 triumphs since 2015 rank second among all conference teams. Senior Courtney Stockard’s all-conference selection gave SBU four straight seasons of landing players on the A-10 First Team while both Kyle Lofton and Osun Osunniyi earned All-Rookie Team picks with Osunniyi also landing on the All-Defensive Team.
• Along the way, Schmidt captured history. On Feb. 17, 2019, he became the winningest coach in program history as he passed the legendary Larry Weise with his 203rd victory as Bonnies head coach.
• With the All-Conference backcourt of Jaylen Adams and Matt Mobley leading the way, 2017-18 was the most successful year of Schmidt’s tenure. The Bonnies went 26-8, setting a school record for wins in a season (the prior mark of 25 had stood since the Final Four season of 1969-70) and reached the NCAA Tournament. There, they beat UCLA in the First Four in Dayton, Ohio, for the program’s first NCAA win since that same 1969-70 season. The Bonnies went 14-4 in the Atlantic 10 to finish second, their fourth straight year with double-digit conference victories. Perhaps the most remarkable achievement of the season were the 13 straight wins to end the regular season. Both Adams and Mobley were selected to the All-Conference First Team as well as the NABC All-District Team. Junior forward LaDarien Griffin was named co-winner of the A-10’s Chris Daniels Award for Most Improved Player.
