We are called to love our neighbor. But, like the scholar in the scripture passage, we may find ourselves wondering, “Who is my neighbor?” This Lent, CRS Rice Bowl—Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten faith-in-action program, will help us answer that question. We are invited to reflect on how an encounter with our neighbor—as companions on life’s journeys—can be transformative. We will see how our prayers, fasting and alms can support those worldwide who are forced to flee their homes to find safety or better opportunities. Seventy-five percent of your gift supports CRS programs around the world. We hope you will take a Rice Bowl, available on the table in the commons area, and participate in this very important program. Please be sure to return your Rice Bowl on or before Palm Sunday. CRS Rice Bowl Helps us Encounter Lent 2018 Bishop’s Annual Appeal The 2018 BAA will kick-off the weekend of Feb. 24/25. It is time for us to do what we can to support not only our diocese, but the programs and ministries that benefit our parish and our Catholic community. The BAA supports our Catholic schools and the education of our future priests and deacons. The BAA supports ministries that change lives for the better. We are blessed with much; let us be a blessing to others. After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God….” - Mark 1:14 Do you ever think about how difficult it must have been for Jesus to come into Galilee, knowing that John had just been arrested for teaching the same message that He was proclaiming? It must have taken great love and trust for Jesus to do what the Father had sent Him here on earth to do. In the same way, following a life of stewardship takes great love and trust from us. We must be willing to surrender completely to God, trusting that God will always give us all that we need to fulfill His plan for us. Trust That God Will Give Us All We Need
