June 19 Rev. David “Chip” Robinson Vicar, Trinity Episcopal Church in Hampton, Christ Church, Portsmouth

The Rev. David “Chip” Robinson is the Vicar for both Trinity Episcopal Church in Hampton, NH and Christ Episcopal Church, Portsmouth. He previously served eleven years as rector of the Church of our Saviour in Milford, followed by a brief stint as interim priest at Church of the Holy Spirit, Plymouth. Before coming to New Hampshire in 2000, he served as rector of Grace Church, Norwood, Mass. and, before

that, as associate rector at Church of the Holy Spirit, Orleans, Mass.

Fr. Chip received his Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary, and his undergraduate degree from Salisbury University (Md.). A native of Delaware, he is married to Cindy, his wife of 36 years. He was ordained to the diaconate in his home parish, St. Luke’s, Seaford, Del., in 1982, and the priesthood at Holy Spirit, Orleans, Mass., in 1983.

June 26 Rev. Stephen B. Klots Chaplain, South Kent School, South Kent, CT

Steve oversees the school’s spiritual and religious life, which includes all-school and voluntary services, as well as other religious services as necessary. Additionally he serves as a pastoral presence on campus, especially for boarding students who come from all over the world, and teaches religious education.

He is also a member of the English Department and Coordinator for The Call to Service, the community service component of our curriculum. This includes getting students to engage in off-campus service projects (such as trips to the Church Street Eats soup kitchen at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford, to work with organizations like Rebuilding Together), and supervising student involvement in our on-campus service program--the “jobs” program (which is akin to the chores students have to do as part of this community).

Steve is also the Cross Country Coach, and is a former president of the New England Preparatory School Track Association. He assists the hockey and lacrosse coaches, and he has in the past been the head coach of JV Basketball and JV Lacrosse.

July 3 Rev. James G. Monroe ‘Honor & Thank Our Veterans’ Sunday

Jim Munroe grew up in Muskegon, Michigan, attended Phillips Academy in Andover, MA, and graduated from Williams College. He served a year of seminary in Oxford, England, and graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary.

Jim served as curate at St. James’ Church in Greenfield, MA, and Grace Church

in Manhattan. He served as Rector of St. John’s Church in Northampton, MA for 14 years, and later was called as Dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Springfield, MA where he served for seventeen years before retiring in 2015. Jim is currently on the staff of Calvary/St. George’s Church in Manhattan on a part-time basis, dividing his time each week between his home in Springfield, MA, and the church in NYC.

After Jim’s freshman year at Williams College, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After a year on a base in California, Jim volunteered for Vietnam. He joined an artillery unit and was stationed near Da Nang. In February 1969, he was wounded during a ground attack and spent two months in a Boston hospital. He was discharged and returned to Williams College. For the past thirty years, Jim has volunteered with a group of veterans who “tell their story” in schools, colleges, prisons, churches and other venues.

During her time in seminary, Alice worked for the Center for Religion and the Environment (CRE) on campus, studied abroad at Cambridge University, and did her field education at St. Augustine’s, Vanderbilt’s Episcopal chaplaincy program, which is run by the Rev. Becca Stevens. Alice is an avid backpacker, and has hiked the Appalachian Trail.

July 17 Rt. Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld Bishop of NH Diocese

A. Robert Hirschfeld is a husband, father, painter, writer/poet, sculler and the Tenth Bishop of the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire.

Rob Hirschfeld grew up attending the Episcopal Church in Connecticut but fell away from the church during high school. A study of the English devotional poetry of John Donne, George Herbert, and

some more modern English and American poets led Rob to reconsider how to think and talk about faith in Christ and God as Trinity. Eventually, and as the result of some profound experiences of grace and openings of spirit, he began to pursue the priesthood and was ordained at Christ Church, New Haven on the Feast of the Confession of St. Peter (January 18), 1992. Since then he has served parishes located on or near college campuses: Yale, the University of Connecticut, and the Five College region of Western Massachusetts. He has also served on a variety of diocesan committees and a seminary board of trustees. He is married to Polly Merritt Ingraham, and they have three children, William, Cora, and Henry. Rob writes poetry and theological ruminations, paints with mixed media, and sculls on the nearby majestic Connecticut River.

July 24 Rev. Canon Hannah Anderson Canon to the Ordinary NH Diocese

The Rev. Canon Hannah Anderson, Canon to the Ordinary in the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire, was ordained to the ministry in 1994.  She has served in four other dioceses prior to her arrival in New Hampshire in January, 2013, to assume the role of C2O with Bishop Hirschfeld, a former colleague in western Massachusetts.  Hannah received her DMin in Advanced Congregational Studies from Seabury-WesternCanon Anderson is married to the Rev. Bob Anderson, CPE Supervisor and hospital chaplain.  They have three grown sons and four grandchildren who span the east and west coasts of the country.  As a collage artist, Hannah brings creativity and spirituality together in ways that enrich parish life and deepen faith for people of many walks of life.  Her particular concern is for poor and vulnerable populations as the gap between privilege and poverty widens.
