Word of LIFE
Did You Know?
• When the priest says the words of Jesus Christ, “This is My Body… This is My Blood”, the bread and the wine are changed (transubstantiation) into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
• The appearance of bread and wine remains, but Jesus Christ is present in a true, real and substantial way, with his Body and his Blood, with his Soul and his Divinity.
• Christ whole and entire, God and Man is present in the Eucharist in a sacramental way, that is, under the appearance of bread and wine.
“We are facing an enormous and dramatic clash be-tween good and evil, death and life, the "culture of death" and the "culture of life". We find ourselves not only "faced with" but necessarily "in the midst of" this conflict: we are all involved and we all share in it, with the inescapable responsibility of choosing to be unconditionally pro-life” (The Gospel of Life 28).
