LAY MINISTERS FOR NEXT WEEKEND *Please get a substitute if you are unable to serve.
I think our picnic came off quite nicely. We were blessed with very nice weather, and I thought it was a decent crowd. I know we grossed a little over $43,000, with some meat sales yet to add to that. I want to thank all of you who worked in whatever capacity to make the picnic a success, especially the committee chairs, and most especially the overall chairmen Steven Gough and Travis Hancock. It was a job well done! I will be away next weekend having the wed-ding of one of my nephews. Fr. David Noone will be here for weekend masses representing Unbound. Unbound is a Catholic organization that helps the poor and marginalized by connecting donors with a person living in poverty. The donor acts as a sponsor. What is really great about Unbound is that not only is someone helped but the donor and recipient establish a relationship and get to know one an-other. What a marvelous thing! We had what was my last Finance Committee meeting this past week. We looked at the overall financial picture of the parish and identified some of the things that yet need to be done in the future. We’ll follow a similar process when I meet with the Parish Council for the last time on September 28. So this weekend is the last weekend that I will have masses at St. Agnes. I have truly enjoyed the last seven years at St. Agnes and JP II School. I want to thank all of you for your love, support, cooperation, and most especially, your faith. I consider it a privilege and a joy to have served as your pastor. I know God has worked in our midst and hopefully, some of you have grown closer to Him. You’re wonderful people and I encourage you to keep the faith and be committed to growing in your faith. I will continue to pray for you and hold you in my heart. So, I pass the baton to Fr. Bruce and may God bless you always. Fr. Randy
