Greetings from Sekolah Rendah Rafflesia Kajang!

Please be informed that the SRRK STREAM Week has been carried out this week. Pupils were exposed to various types of Science experiments and hands-on activities, which can boost their psychomotor development. Pupils’ critical thinking skills are enhanced during such activities too.

The legend of the Mid-Autumn Festival has been shared with pupils. It is a family holiday like Thanksgiving with mooncakes and lanterns. Pupils were encouraged to spend their quality time with their parents.

Solar System

The standard 3 pupils made

This M&M Rainbow science experiment is a fun and easy way to teach children about mixing colours and creating new colours. This is also the perfect experiment to teach children how sugar dissolves

when mixing with warm water.

Greenhouse Effect

Pupils were able to understand the concept of the greenhouse effect. They were exposed to the factors that caused

climate change during the CCA.

The pupils were exposed to the legend of Mid-Autumn

Festival and they were taught to appreciate the reunion moment with their family.

with information to make them understand

the limitation of physical touch and

awareness of self-protection.

and identified the boundaries

of physical contact.

The pupils started to apply the knowledge they had learnt during the

CCA to create their own presentation slides. They actively participated and

showed interest in learning new skills.

While enjoying the fun-filled activity, the pupils learned which materials dissolve in water and which don’t.

Mathematics

The pupils of Standard 2R were making a clock face during the Mathematics lesson. The materials needed were glue, colour papers,

a thumbtack, marker pens, etc.

The standard 4R pupils learnt the “Kata Adjektif” through

colourful slides and interactive games. It was useful in

encouraging pupils to make sentences too.

Bahasa Melayu

Google Classroom is really useful for doing weekly spelling ‘Kuiz

Perkataan Mingguan’. It helps the teacher to monitor pupils, grade

the quiz & write comments. Bomb Timer is also helpful and it

effectively makes pupils be more punctual and turn in their

paper on time.

The Muslim pupils were learning the compulsory

movement of prayer, ‘Rukun Solat’. Besides

using books, pupils enjoyed the Quizizz to test their knowledge with the interesting themes in the

application.

CCA

The pupils were exposed to the global issues, such as

climate change, global warming and their effects. They drew Save the Earth

Poster to create awareness among themselves.

The pupils were excited to explore "The Magic Water Marker Trick". In this experiment, they learnt that the ink in dry erase markers is insoluble in water.

When an object is less dense than water, it becomes buoyant and floats on the surface!

Our Standard 1 pupils were eager to explore the layer of soil during their Science lessons. They learnt how to identify soil

types, and discussed about the garden soil and its layers.
