Dear Doctor,

“When there are tears ,you are a shoulder. when there is pain, you are medicine. when there is tragedy ,you are hope.” A

tribute to doctors on July 1st was celebrated to acknowledge the contributions of doctors in their relentless efforts to pro-

vide the best care to patients.

Dr.Vinnarasi, parent of Master.Ashwin (Grade 5-A) delivered an enthralling speech to the students which highlighted the

contributions of doctors in creating a healthy society.

To increase the creativity, imagination and observation skills in our budding stars of (KG), a puppet show

on the story of Red Riding Hood was displayed in a marvelous way by our team of energetic (KG) educa-

tors, which provided excellent opportunities for teaching positive social skills.

SRMPS observed the World Population Day through a rally by students of grades 8 & 9. They

walked from NPR Mandapam to Guduvancherry Bus Terminus carrying placards to create

awareness about the growing population and the resulting problems. The students also gave

public speeches in both Tamil & English on the adverse effects that overpopulation can

have ,on a developing nation ,such as ours.

Our students on this day participated in the competitions that spread awareness in them

about the hazards caused by the pollution of the natural resources and the adverse affects it

has had all around the world.

Bridging home and school—A two way communication for the welfare of kids: teachers gave their valuable insights

regarding the child ‘s experiences, concerns and how they are bolstering a variety of skills during the first tenure.

“Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind ,is written large in his

work”, said a great poet.

Apt to his words our students with great enthusiasm and creativity took part in the essay writing competition

which paved a way to improvise their imagination and love for the great leader Thiru K.Kamarajar.

“Intelligence plus character –that is the goal of true education” said Shri.Kamarajar. In order to educate our students about

this exemptary leader, an essay writing competition was held to mark the eve of his birthday . A special assembly was con-

ducted to bring to the limelight, the great personality’s life in the form of a speech and a dazzling dance performance.

A Workshop offers tools and techniques that the educators can implement to help teachers develop their com-

municative skills; an impactful session was conducted by one of our staff Mrs. Chinni Rani Dhanapalan.

Show & Tell isn’t just about giving the kids a reason to bring toys to class. Children learn social, emotional

linguistic skills and listening skills. The students participated with great enthusiasm and vigor in the compe-

tition .The winners were appreciated and honoured with certificates.

The competitive exam tends to make participants very sharp-minded and ‘clever’ problem

solvers. “It takes a ton of effort to become a winner, but it’s totally worth it”. The rankers of

the Olympiad exams were awarded with certificates. Even the teacher-in-charge who facilitat-

ed the exams were awarded with certificates.

Our students showed a great level of curiosity and enthusiasm to dive deep into the ocean of learning when

they seized the opportunity to show case their talent in the ‘Science Expo conducted at SRM University. They

made us feel proud by winning awards and accolades and brought laurels to the school.

INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE DAY; “To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity. ”To emphasize this, International Justice

Day is celebrated throughout the world in an effort to recognize the emerging system of International Criminal Justice .The day was successful

enough to attract our students attention by our special guest, Dr. Lavanya Parent of R.Kriya (Grade-2B) who enlightened the young minds with an

informative speech about justice and the set of laws which one can use to raise one’s voice against injustice.

Teaching students about the community helpers was made authentic by inviting the people who make our daily

lives function smoothly. We had in our midst a postman , a carpenter, a tailor, a beautician ,a nurse, a farmer , a

vegetable vendor and a fisherwoman , an electrician and a teacher. The students learnt the importance of the ser-

vice of these community helpers and were taught to honour and respect for them.

Incorporating the senses in a multisensory manner activates the brain and enhances skills that are necessary

to succeed in life. The sensory activities allowed our children to refine their thresholds for different sensory

information. Besides it supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, prob-

lem solving and improves social interactions. Kudos to the KG educators for stimulating the students’ senses

through various activities.

the role but always about the goal.”

In the meeting with the Principal & Vice principal, our dynamic student council volunteered

themselves to be a pillar of support in all the endeavors of our school activities especially dur-

International Friendship Day

Friendship day is a day for celebrating friendship. The day is

popularly celebrated in several Asian countries since it was

first proposed 1958 in Paraguay as the ‘International Friend-

ship Day’. It was initially created by the greeting cards indus-

try, evidence from social networking sites shows a revival of

interest in the holiday that may have grown with the spread

of the internet, particularly in India, Bangladesh and Malay-

sia. Digital communication modes such as the internet may
