Activity : CIRCUIT MANIA

About the Activity:
Students were provided with kits which included all the necessary components required to implement
various applications of 555 Timer IC such as Touch sensor, Clap switch and IR Remote checker.
Groups of students rigged up the circuits according to the guidance provided to them.
Prizes were announced to the groups of students who completed and explained all the applications at the
earliest.
The main aim of the activity was to impart practical knowledge into the students and give them
hands-on experience regarding simple applications of the Timer IC.

About the Activity:
The activity of group discussion was conducted to the students to help them improve their
communication skills, time management. The main aim was to encourage students exchange their views on various topics addressing the present
social and technological concerns of our society through a healthy group discussion. Also before the start of the activity, TED Talk videos on recent technological advancements in the field
of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning were also shown to the students. At the end of the activity, the student groups who presented the best discussion were announced as
winners.

About the Activity:
The activity was conducted with the objective to instigate the idea of entrepreneurship skills in the students
and help them improve their communication skills and leadership skills.
Students were enlightened by Mr. Anirudh on the above mentioned topics.
Students were called on stage and were asked to enact a scenario by giving them a list of conversations.
The resource person then explained how the communication can be done effectively and also informed the
students about the common mistakes made.
Students were also asked come on stage and introduce themselves as they would be asked in the interviews
and the resource person monitored their responses.
Various such short activities were conducted for the students so that the students would get an essence of
the topics.

Ms. Nagaveni S A gave an insight to the students on how to conduct research using journal publications,
methods to access the quality of journals based on various factors and the general structure of a journal
paper.

The judges evaluated the student’s presentation based on the relevance of their topic, presentation, PPT
slides and how they answer the questionnaires.
The activity also aimed at helping reduce the stage fear of the students.

The main objective of the event was to give an insight about the aptitude tests which are a part of almost

A total of 30 multiple choice questions were given to the students with a time limit of 45 minutes.
The questions were selected from different areas of an aptitude quiz such as verbal, non verbal and

The Forum of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, “WIZONICS 2019-20” was
inaugurated on 23-08-2019. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Vinayaka R Deskar, Avionics Engineer,
Team Lead, Collins Aerospace, Bengaluru. The Guest of Honor was Mr. Vinay B N, Physical Design
Engineer, Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. Both of the guests are the proud Alumni of our
institution. The event was presided over by Dr. Y Vijaya Kumar, Principal, GMIT, Davangere. The event was
conducted under the guidance of the Forum Chairman, Dr. Hadimani H C, HOD, Department of E&CE,
GMIT, Davangere.
Forum coordinators Mr. Vikas C Yatnalli, Ms. Nagaveni S A and the Faculty Forum Treasurer
Mr. Sharanabasaveshwara H B were present on the stage along with student Vice President, Mr. Sanjay U,
General Secretary, Ms. Varshini S B and student Treasurer Mr. Basavraj Hiremath. All the teaching and non-
teaching staff and all the students of department had attended the event.
Apart from the inauguration ceremony, a welcome event was conducted in the afternoon session for the
third semester students.
