equally divine. January 7th
happens to be the birth
anniversary of Visalakshi ma, the
mother of His Holiness. SSRVM
Bangalore North celebrated this
day as “Mathru Diwas” a day to
express love and gratitude to
one’s own mother and all others –
MATHRU SHAKTHI
All the creative expressions of the
students were uploaded on the
school Facebook page under the

Session on Career Counselling
A career counselling session was
conducted for the students of Std XII on 7th
January 2021. This session was conducted
by Ms. Shikha Gupta, Ms. Ashwini Pagad
from EDUCATIONALISE and Mr. Kiran
Kumar from IFIM. In this session, the
students were made aware of the courses
of Liberal Education by Ms. Ashwini
Pagad. Ms. Shikha also mentioned the
various courses made available by
Government of Germany and how to
access them. Then, Ms. Ashwini Pagad
briefed them on courses available in Atria
University and how Liberal education
helps them to gain practical knowledge
and stay ahead of the curve in the
changing job market. She also stressed
on developing a multi skill set so that they
are future ready.
Later Mr. Kiran Kumar, a professor in
IFIM introduced them to the courses
offered by their university and how mixed
learning is beneficial to them. He also
guided them on how to choose the right
course and college for learning. In the
end, all queries from students were
attended and links were shared to send
the further queries.

As the sun starts its journey towards the
north, he makes all happy moments
come to life. For the Sankranthi
celebration, as part of CCA, the students
sent their creative works related to the
harvest festival celebrated in various
states and the same were uploaded on
Facebook page under the title

Sankranthi, the harvest festival was
celebrated joyously by SSRVM Bangalore
North with great aplomb and a programme
was conducted by the students of Std III, VI
and VII which went live on the school
Facebook page. There were a variety of
entertaining acts by the students and the
celebrations done in various states were
highlighted.

Session on Channelizing Youth Power for
Nation Building
Speaker: Shri Yadavji
On the occasion of Swamy Vivekananda’s
153rd birth anniversary, to celebrate the
YOUTH DAY, a session was conducted on
“Channelizing Youth Power for Nation
Building” with Shri Yadavji, a senior Art of
Living teacher. The event started at 10.30
am with Smt. Vijetha introducing the guest,
followed by an invocation by Ms.
Vaishnavi of Std X.
Yadavji is a highly successful software
engineer who is also working with the Art
of Living for the upliftment of the youth. In
this interactive session, he spoke to the
students of Std IX to Std XII. He explained
what youthfulness actually means and how
staying active and energetic helps to be
youthful. He also enlightened the students
on the importance of physical and mental
health. He advised the youth to take up
career choices based on their passion. He
quoted “Passion is something that won’t
allow you to sleep; something that you
would want to achieve no matter the
circumstances.” His words of wisdom
inspired the students. Also, he took up
questions from students and answered
them with utmost enthusiasm. The
interactive session ended with a few
inspiring words from our Principal Smt.
Mamatha Raviprakash and the vote of
thanks by Smt. Sahana Rai.

We are very happy to share with you all that Yashaswini Mathur of Std XI has cleared
the Zonal Informatics Olympiad and has been selected for the Indian National
Olympiad of Informatics of the International Olympiad of Informatics (IOI).
International Olympiad of Informatics (IOI) is one of the most prestigious computer
science competition for secondary school and high school students around the world.
The competition is one of five international science Olympiads held annually.
Each country is represented by a team of 4 students.
The selection of this 4 member team is done by a 3 stages filtration process of Zonal
Informatics Olympiad (ZIO), Indian National Olympiad of Informatics (INOI) and a
Training Camp (IOI-TC).
Yashaswini Mathur of class XI from SSRVM Bangalore North has cleared the ZIO and
is among the 200 children across India appearing INOI.

On the occasion of National Youth Day,
SSRVM Bangalore North conducted
various activities where students of Std III,
IV and V actively participated in
understanding Swami Vivekananda’s life,
full of values and inspiration. The teachers
narrated a few life stories of Swami
Vivekananda and his Guru Shri
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. The stories
showed that the younger generation should
make their life more meaningful by
studying about Swami Vivekananda and
treading the path shown by him. Few
students enacted and recreated his famous
speech and inspired all to embrace the
thoughts of Swami Vivekananda which will
help one and all to achieve success in life.

On the occasion of National Youth Day, SSRVM
Bangalore North conducted various activities
where students of Std VI, VII and VIII actively
participated in understanding the life of
Swami Vivekananda and imbibing his
ideology. Students creatively presented PPT,
chart work based on his life, few students
enacted and recreated his famous speech and
inspired all the others to inculcate the values
that Swami Vivekananda practiced throughout
his life.

session 1 Pre Lit Fest conducted by The
SSRVM Trust. Teachers and students
gained a lot in the month long SSRVM
lit fest where a variety of sessions were
conducted by various professionals.

HEARTBEAT!
On the occasion of 72nd Republic day, SSRVM
Bangalore North felicitated the Pourakarmikas,
health care workers for their contribution to the
society during these critical months of pandemic.
Sri Pothaiah Supervisor from BBMP hoisted the tri
colour. They shared their experiences with the
audience on the challenges faced by them and
they were grateful for having got the opportunity
to serve the society. It wouldn’t be wrong to call
them the true warriors. Our Trust administrator
Sri Raviprakashji rightly quoted about
“Sangachadwam” which translates to working
together in these difficult times. Our Principal
Smt. Mamatha Raviprakashji reiterated the same
and also mentioned that freedom should be
exercised with discipline and responsibility. She
extended her heartfelt gratitude to the
dignitaries.\

Activity: Making a framework for an object
An activity to make a framework for an object was
conducted for the students. The students were
asked to make any desired shape with the help of
ice-cream sticks and then to cover it with wool and
art paper. This activity helped students to
understand the arrangement of bones which gives
shape and provides support to our body.

This activity was conducted on the topic
“Water” to make them learn that water
can be used as a means of creating
music. The students used different
bowls filled with different quantities of
water.
Gurudev says that our attitude should be

container that it is put in. The students
also learnt this important value through
this innovative and fun filled activity.

The students presented a skit, ‘The Story of
Angulimala’, where a dacoit becomes a
disciple of Lord Buddha and spends his whole
life in spreading the great Principles of Lord
Buddha.
At the end of the skit, the students were able
to understand the value of kindness and
nonviolence.

This activity was conducted to help the
students understand how determination, faith
and hard work help us reach the goal in our
life.
Students of Std VI presented a drama, ‘Rise of
the Mauryan Empire’, during the class hours.
They depicted how the determined
Vishnugupta trained a common man and
made him build a powerful kingdom. They
also narrated a story to explain why border
management is important for a country.
This drama helped the students understand
the story of Mauryan Empire which plays an
important role in the history of India.

with ten strips of equal width and
length. Then, they were told to colour
the grids using five different colours.
The students were told to find out the
fractions of each colour and observe the

This activity was conducted on
the topic “Hucchu Hurulu” to
inculcate sense of humour in
their writing, in letters and
invitations.
The story of Blue Jackal was narrated with help of puppets and properties.
Facilitators enacted a story to help
the students understand the concept
of ‘Growth of Plants’ and ‘Parts of a
plant’. Further, children were also
introduced to ‘Common leaves’.
Children were made aware of good
food and protecting plants and
trees.
Facilitators aroused interest in the
students through the activity of
sowing seeds. This activity
encouraged and motivated the tiny
tots to grow more plants. The results
were seen, as they showed their
plants which they had grown.
Prayer instills certain values
such as humility and discipline
in the students. Prayer has a
power of creating a pious
atmosphere. Facilitators and
students invoke the divine
through prayer.
Everyday is a new day! Our children of PP1 begin their
day by chanting the shlokas. They
also learn many new shlokas with
enthusiasm, which helps them in
refreshing their minds. With the
same energy and zeal our
children get energised by
performing warm up exercises
with lots of fun, which keeps them
healthy and develop their gross
motor skills.
A sound mind in a sound body. Exercises make the children active and alert.
To bring balance between body and mind, different exercises are done at
the beginning of each day.
Stories are a gateway to introduce
new words and enrich a child's
vocabulary. It also develops his or
her imagination. Interesting
stories were narrated to the
children using various props.
Children learnt many values and
were inspired to create their own
stories.
