Brief History of the College

Sri Adi Chunchanagiri Women’s College had its humble beginningon July 10, 1996. It is run by Sri Adi Chunchanagiri Shikshana trust(Established 1973) of Sri Adi Chunchanagiri Kshettira, Nagamangala Taluk,Mandya District, Karnataka Padma Bhushan Dr.Sri Sri SriBalagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, (the 71st peedathipathi of SriAdi Chunchanagiri Mahasamasthana mutt) was the founder and formerpresident of our college.At Present the president of our college is the 72ndPeedathipathi of Sri Adi Chunchanagiri Shikshana trust.

Poojyasri Jagadguru Dr.Sri Sri Sri NIRMALANANDHANATHAMAHA SWAMIJI . In order to promote the higher education of women folkof the economically and educationally backward Cumbum valley, Swamijisuggested to start the educational institution. With His Suggestions andblessings, the college was started in 1996 with 73 students and now isrunning with nearly 1500 students .It is efficiently executed by dedicatedservice of the secretary Cumbum.Thiru. N. Ramakrishnan M.A.,

Our college at its inception had been affiliated to Madurai KamarajUniversity. From the year 2002 it was brought under Mother Teresa Women’sUniversity. Our College is provided with fine infrastructural facilities - anauditorium, a well-equipped digital library, well-knit Computer Labs, a Stateof the art Conference hall with A.C provision, Meditation Hall, a moderngym and a well maintained Play ground. A hostel is run within the campuswith the capacity to hold around 200 students. The principal is the wardenof the hostel and she is assisted by two deputy wardens.

Owing to the dedicated efforts taken by the management and staff,every year our students come out with flying colours in all fields. TheCollege will certainly grow with more vigour and strength as it hasconstructive future Plans.

The College emblem symbolizes the three importantcharacteristics, rather values to be achieved by one and all in life.

The Swan in the emblem stands for purity. Purity in every walkof life, purity of purpose and purity of means will raise the students tothe height of glory through constant perseverance and sincerity. Thepure White Swan separates the milk from the water by its skill as it hasthe purity of purpose. The Sthambha – kambam in the middle symbolizesthe height of glory which can be achieved only by perseverance.

The Kamadhenu represents Prosperity, the abundance in lifewhich is the goal of every human being. Our aim is to train the Studentsto inculcate these values along with curricular studies to make themHonest, Hard Working, Prosperous and Useful Citizens.

NOTE :

1. The fees for each semester must be paid in oneinstalment.

2. All students are expected to keep the cash receipts safefor all the fees paid.

3. A Student who has attended the class for the whole orpart of a day in a semester is liable to pay the tuitionfees, special fees, laboratory fees, etc for the wholesemester.

4. If a student fails to pay the tuition fee within the stipulatedperiod a fine will be charged.

5. The special fee and deposits should be paid along withthe fee for the term or the first instalment at the time ofadmission.

6. Students who are in arrears of tuition fee shall not beallowed to attend the university examination.

7. A fee of Rs.100 /- shall be paid by students who apply forthe issue of their Transfer certificate.

8. A fee of Rs.200 /- will be charged for the issue of duplicatetransfer certificate which shall not be issued unless it isproved to the satisfaction of the Principal that the originalwas lost beyond recovery.

9. College buses ply between the college and the otherplaces for the convenience of staff and students. Bus feesshall be paid by the students every semester.

10. University examination fee shall be paid by the students|as prescribed by the university.

1. All candidates seeking admission must apply usingthe form supplied and submit their transfer Certificateand the statement of marks at the time of admission.

2. No candidate will be enrolled or allowed to attendclasses if she fails to remit the tuition fee on or beforethe notified date.

3. A student who leaves the institution in the middle ofa semester cannot claim refund of fee as a matter of right.She should apply for withdrawal in the prescribed form.

4. If any student is expelled from the college,intimation of the fact there of will be given by the Principalto the parent or guardian and the transfer certificate willbe sent to the University.

5. SPORTS FACILITIESThis college has a nice and spacious playground with

a scientifically well laid 200 mts track, Kho-Kho court, VolleyBall court, Basket Ball court and Kabbadi court. Indoor gamesare also encouraged and all basic requirements are availablein the Department of Physical Education.

Students are selected on the basis of their sports skill andare provided with free education and free accommodation. Wellequipped gym is also installed in the college. It is worthmentioning that this college excels both in tournaments andsports at the Inter-Collegiate level.
