From: Heather Baker [email protected]Subject: Squid (Belemnites) OFFER 19 Jul 2016 Date: July 18, 2016 at 11:37 PM To: Heather BAKER (work) [email protected]Opalised Squid/Belemnites are fossils. The original squid under the sand it dissipated and left an empty mould. When it was formed was originally a liquid and as it ran through the crevices of the sand and the rocks it filled in empty spaces. Some empty spaces were squid/belemnites. The opal solidified and now the miners dig and they say “I found a squid” or “I found a belemnite”. In fact they found a squid replacement. They are perfect in shape, have beautiful markings, pointy at one end and hollow at the other. They are not the original squid, they are squid replacements formed many times in beautiful opal. The best opals come in squid. Today we send you images of quite a range, for as little as six for only $60 the lot right up to $20,000/oz for the top Lambina belemnites. I am going to let Heather’s images describe the Offer today but those of you who want something big and outstanding the $2,000 54.8cts Squid is magnificent, it is 53mm x 14mm and will make a statement around any person’s neck, be they male or female. I wear a belemnite myself as a pendant. The $1,500 8.25ct is simply magnificent, it would look wonderful adorned around anyone’s neck. The $2,500 Boulder Crystal Belemnite in four pieces, you could make a ring, pendant and earrings. This is absolutely gorgeous crystal. A real gift at this price. There is some lovely cutting in the four piece of squid for only $225. I really like the $430 piece, there is sand in it but there’s absolutely super gem colours. When it’s cleaned up it’ll still have some sand but it will attract many admirers. The Squid for $99 with part of a shell attached is held together by sandstone and a great specimen for a collector. If you can resist cutting the squid because that’s almost full colour as well. I invite you to look very carefully at this Offer. This squid will make super pendants, rings and earrings and are very easily cut. You don’t have to be a master at the cutting saw and polishing wheel to get magnificent opals here.
