General Instructions The SPV-HP unit has been designed for optimal performance, with premium materials and excellent craftmanship. We recommend following the instructions in this manual closely, to insure years of superb service.

Location The SPV series units are designed to be installed in an interior closet that is against an outside wall, with rear or side access. The vertical discharge is ducted to one, or several rooms, depending on the application. The exterior of the unit (outdoor grille side) must have no obstructions (ie. trees, bushes, walls, etc.) within 18 inches. Do not install two units adjacent to each other, on an inside corner, as the units will not properly function if they exhaust into each other.

Interior closets must be designed to allow access to the indoor side of the unit, for installation, inspection and service. The closet opening must be at least 24” wide and 84” tall, for size 9 – 24 units, and at least 32” wide and 84” tall for size 25 – 36 units. Three inches (3”) of unobstructed space is required on all sides of the SPV, to allow for adequate air flow. A minimum of 27” (sizes 9 – 24) and a minimum of 35” (sizes 25 – 36) must be provided in front of the interior portion of the unit, to permit removal of the unit, for inspection and service.

Typical Closet Installation

This unit is not meant to provide unattended cooling or life support for persons or animals who are unable to react to the failure of this product. The failure of an unattended air conditioner may result in extreme heat in the conditioned space, causing overheating or death of persons or animals. Precautions must be taken to warn off or guard against such an occurrence.

• The bottom of the rough-in opening should be approximately 6” above the floor. • A minimum 3” clearance is required on all sides of the unit.

• Rough-in opening for wall sleeve is 44” high x 21.625” wide (size 09 -24) and 46.5” high x 29.625” wide (size 25 – 36).

• The bottom of the rough-in opening should be approximately 6” above the floor. • A minimum of 3” clearance is required on all sides of the unit. • A minimum of 12” clearance is required on the rear of the unit. • A minimum of 27” closet width is required for 9 – 24SPV. • A minimum of 35” closet width is required for 25 – 36SPV. • A minimum 30” wide door is required for 9 – 24SPV. • A minimum 36” wide door is required for 25 – 36SPV.

Wall Sleeve Installation

The Wall Sleeve installs in the exterior wall framing. Please refer to the Dimensions listed above.

Wall Sleeve Installation

1. Install the wall sleeve into the opening (see above rough-in dimensions) 2. The front edge of the wall sleeve should protrude 1/4“ from the finished surface of the outside wall. 3. Align the sleeve with the wall and adjust the 2 ea. wall sleeve legs, so the bottom pan is angled 1/2

bubble toward the outside of the building. 4. Fasten the sleeve to the wall studs in 3 locations on each side. See drawing above for approximate

locations for fastening. Note: It is recommended that fasteners with seal washers are used, to minimize the possibility of water leakage into the wall.

5. Connect 3/4” nipple to the bottom of the wall sleeve, and connect the condensate trap. 6. Place a bead of silicone sealant or other high grade non-hardening sealing compound approved for

exterior use, to seal the gap between the wall sleeve and both the inside and outside wall surfaces. Sealant should also be applied around the heads of the fasteners used to secure the sleeve.

Damage due to water leakage will occur if the primary and secondary drain lines are obstructed or clogged. Therefore, it is necessary to perform periodic maintenance to ensure that drains remain open.

Architectural Grille Installation 1. Remote weather guard from wall sleeve. (figure 1) 2. Attach 6 ea. bolts and washers into the slotted holes in the inside of the wall sleeve, to connect to

exterior architectural grille. (bolts and washers included with grille) (figure 2) 3. Remove top metal plate on the base of the wall sleeve. (figure 3)

Please remove the top sheet metal plate on the base of the Wall Sleeve. Failure to do so will result in condensate leaking into the interior of the building.

Unit must be installed with an approved wall sleeve and grille, for safe operation. Improper installation could result in property damage, personal injury or death.

Unit Installation 1. Ensure that the supply air ductwork is properly sized, and free of debris, prior to connecting to the unit. 2. Remove packaging from the SPV-HP unit. 3. Remove the rear service access panel and inspect the blower to ensure that is turns freely. 4. Pull electrical disconnect and check all electrical connections. 5. Check power supply and confirm that the nameplate voltage, amperage and fuse size is proper for the

application. 6. Place a 18” x 24” x 1” filter (9SPV -24SPV) or 26” x 28” x 1” filter (25SPV -36SPV). 7. Disconnect the Fresh Air Fan Kit, from the terminal block, if not needed. 8. Ensure that the wall sleeve is installed properly, by using a t-square. 9. Install condensate drain (see page 11 for detail). 10. Remove the cardboard guard from the wall sleeve. 11. Attach the Architectural Louver to the Wall Sleeve, from the inside, using supplied bolts. 12. Inspect the rubber seal, installed in the interior of the wall sleeve, to ensure that is properly sealed and

aligned. Use a non-hardening sealer to ensure that there are no gaps between the seal and the wall sleeve.

13. Once the seal is inspected, and any gaps are sealed, lift the unit into the base of the sleeve and slide the unit forward, so that the equipment is completely sealed inside the enclosure.

14. Check that the unit is seated completely on all four sides, against the seals in the wall sleeve. Seal any openings that may still exist.

15. Connect properly sized electrical service to the terminal disconnect block. 16. Install a factory approved wall controller or approved 24V thermostat, according to manufacturer’s

instructions. Please refer to the SPV-HP wall controller specification book for additional information. 17. Install and connect ductwork into the unit discharge plenum area, to ensure that the connection is leak

free. A flexible duct connector may be used to provide an easier installation and removal of the SPV equipment.

18. Reinstall the rear access panel and disconnect after inspecting the field wiring. 19. Apply power to the SPV unit. 20. Perform System Check.

Unit must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor.

Unit must not be operated during building construction, due to excessive airborne debris. Units should never be operated without an installed air filter.

Fresh Air Kit

An optional Fresh Air Kit is available for the SPV-HP series units, for mild climate where tempered fresh air is not required. This Kit is factory mounted and wired, inside of the SPV cabinet.

Condensate Drain The condensate drain is incorporated into the bottom of the SPV wall sleeve. The bottom of the SPV wall sleeve includes a 3/4” male pipe thread connection, that penetrates from the bottom of the wall sleeve. A 3/4" female pipe thread adapter must be installed in the field, for condensate. The threads must be sealed with pipe dope / pipe sealant, to ensure that there are no condensate leaks. A minimum 2” trap must be installed in the condensate line, to ensure positive drainage. Prior to unit installation, ensure that the drain is unobstructed and leak free.

A factory installed drain line connects the evaporator drain pan to a vertical pipe connection in the SPV wall sleeve base pan. Condensation from the evaporator is delivered from the SPV unit to a catch tray in the wall sleeve, and if carried through the wall sleeve to a condensate riser through a 3/4” fitting.

The secondary overflow prevents condensate overflow into the closet or living area. In the unlikely event that the primary condensate riser becomes clogged, and water fills the catch tray, water is diverted from the tray through the wall sleeve to the exterior of the building.

Condensate Connection Failure to properly seal the condensate connection may cause a water leak, which could ultimately create a hazardous condition due to mold spores.

Sequence of Operation Note: Unit is operated by a wired remote wall thermostat or wall controller, which is connected to an electronic control board in the SPV unit. Type of controller: factory standard wired controller, or 24VAC thermostat. Please refer to the SPV-HP Wired Controller manual for additional information. Compressor and Reversing Valve Control

Active Mode Compressor Reversing Valve State Cooling On De-Energized Heat - Heat Pump(Compressor Heat) On Energized Heat Pump Electric Heat On Energized Heat - Electric Heat only Off De-Energized Dehumidification On De-Energized Fan Only Off De-Energized

Cooling Mode Once the ambient temperature rises past the cooling demand setpoint of the thermostat, and if the compressor is not locked out, the cooling cycle begins. The fan is energized 5 seconds prior to the compressor start up. Once the temperature difference (the setpoint temperature of the indoor thermostat) is less than 2.7° F for 3 minutes, the compressor will be turned off; after 30 a second delay, the fan will be turned off. When the temperature difference (the set temperature of the indoor thermostat) is more than 2.7° F, the compressor will be turned on again. Heating Mode Control Operation There are two heating methods: Heat Pump and Electric Auxiliary Heating. Heat Pump With Electric Heat Operation

1. In an initial call for heating, the evaporator blower motor is energized 15 seconds prior to electric heating elements turning on.

2. The electric heating elements will remain energized for 120 seconds. 3. The electric heating elements will turn off and the compressor will turn on, in the heat pump mode. 4. The heat pump will continue to run, until the thermostat setpoint temperature is met. 5. If the setpoint temperature is not met in 30 minutes of heat pump operation, the compressor will turn off

and the electric heating elements will be energized until the thermostat setpoint temperature is met. 6. The SPV-HP heat pump has an alternate logic programmed in the board. If it is necessary on a replacement

project to supply an SPV-HP unit with similar logic to the unit that is being replaced, the alternate program can be initiated by plugging a jumper plug into the T1 molex plug terminal on the 24V interface board, to the left of the LED display. Skymark and First Co units both cease heat pump operation at 40° F, and rely solely on electric heat below 40° F. When the jumper plug is inserted into the T1 molex plug terminal on the 24V interface board, the SPV-HP will cease heat pump operation at 40° F and will heat solely with electric heat below 40° F. The jumper plug must remain plugged into the T1 molex plug terminal in order for this alternate logic to work properly. (See Figure 4, Figure 5 and Figure 6.)

The 24V Interface Module Board has a three-digit LED display at the bottom right of the board. There are a total of thirty-three various error codes that will display on the board. Our troubleshooting guide will provide you information that could help an authorized, trained, licensed HVAC tech diagnose issues, based on the error codes given by the 24V Interface Module Board.

Replacement items will be referenced in the Troubleshooting Error Code Guide. Please refer to the Replacement Parts Drawing and Replacement Parts List, pages 29 and 30, for more information on these parts.

Disconnect the power supply and reconnect and power up the unit in three minutes. If the E01 error code is still shown on the board, please do the following:

1. Check the voltage connections at the compressor, to make sure that the wiring is connected properly.

2. Disconnect the wiring to the compressor. 3. Test the Ohm resistance, on the compressor, between the U and V

terminals, U and W terminals and V and W terminals. Note: The Ohm value should be between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω.

4. Please replace the compressor, if the value falls outside of 0.5 and 2.5 Ω. Note: Please refer to the Limited Warranty for information on the Sealed System Warranty.

E02 Compressor IPM Module Temperature Sensor Fault Replace Drive Board (39).

E03 EPROM Data is Abnormal Replace Main Control Board (41).

E04 DC BUS Low Voltage

1. Check the AC supply voltage. Note: The supply voltage should be no higher than 265 VAC and no lower than 165 VAC.

2. Check the DC BUS voltage at the Red and Black wire terminals on the Main Control Board (41), at the left, at the Condenser Blower Motor plug.

Note: The DC voltage at the Red and Black wire terminals should be 170 VDC. 3. Replace the Main Control Board (41), if the voltage is less than 170 VDC,

at the Red and Black wire terminals.

E05 Compressor Start Abnormal

Disconnect the power supply, wait 3 minutes, then power the unit back on. If the Error Code is still shown on the 24V Interface Module (43), do the following.

1. Check the voltage connections at the compressor, to make sure that the wiring is connected properly.

2. Disconnect the terminals U, V and W to the compressor. 3. Test the Ohm resistance, on the compressor, between U and V terminals,

U and W terminals and V and W terminals. Note: The Ohn value should be between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω.

4. Please replace the compressor, if the value falls outside of 0.5 and 2.5 Ω. Note: Please refer to the Limited Warranty for information on the Sealed System.

5. If the Ohm value is between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω, and the compressor will not start, please replace the Drive Board (39).

E06 Compressor

Desynchronizing Protection

Disconnect the power supply, wait 3 minutes, then power the unit back on. If the Error Code is still shown on the display board, please do the following.

1. Check the voltage connections at the compressor, to make sure that the wiring is connected properly.

2. Disconnect the terminals U, V and W to the compressor. 3. Test the Ohm resistance, on the compressor, between U and V terminals,

U and W terminals and V and W terminals. Note: The Ohn value should be between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω.

4. Please replace the compressor, if the value falls outside of 0.5 and 2.5 Ω. Note: Please refer to the Limited Warranty for information on the Sealed System Warranty.

5. If the Ohm value is between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω, and the compressor will not start, please replace the Drive Board (39).

E07 Compressor Overcurrent Protection

1. Check the AC supply voltage. Note: The supply voltage should be no higher than 265 VAC and no lower than 165 VAC.

2. Disconnect the power supply, wait 3 minutes, then power the unit back on.

Note: Poor ventilation can increase the heat inside of the cabinet. A Heat Block, behind the boards, is there to dissipate the increased heat. Excessive heat can increase the load on the compressor, causing the compressor to turn off on overload protection.

3. Check for obstructions or other issues that would cause poor ventilation on the condenser side of the unit.

4. If the Error Code is still present, replace the Drive Board (39).

E08 High DC BUS Voltage Alert

1. Check the AC supply voltage to the DC BUS, at the White and Black wire terminals at the bottom left on the Drive Board (39).

Note: The AC voltage should be no higher than 300 VAC. 2. Check the DC supply voltage to the DC BUS, at the Red and Black wire

terminals at the upper right on the Drive Board (39), at the Evaporator Blower Motor molex plug.

Note: The DC supply voltage to the DC BUS should not exceed 440 VDC. 3. If the voltage is above 440 VDC, please replace the Drive Board (39).

E09 Compressor IPM Module High Temperature Sensor

1. Check for obstructions or other issues that would cause poor ventilation on the condenser side of the unit.

Note: Poor ventilation can increase the heat inside of the cabinet. A Heat Block, behind the boards, is there to dissipate the increased heat. Excessive heat can increase the load on the compressor.

2. If there are no obstructions or other issues that would cause poor ventilation to the condenser side of the unit, replace the Drive Board (39).

E10 High Input Power Alert

Disconnect the power supply, wait 3 minutes, then power the unit back on. If the Error Code is still shown on the board display, please do the following.

1. Check for obstructions or other issues that would cause poor ventilation. Note: Excessive heat can increase the load and cause this error code to appear.

2. If no obstructions or other issues are found, replace the Wave Filter Board (40).

3. If the error code is still present, after changing the Wave Filter Board, replace the Drive Board (39).

E11 AC Input Overcurrent Protection

Disconnect the power supply, wait 3 minutes, then power the unit back on. If the Error Code is still shown on the board display, please do the following.

1. Check for obstructions or other issues that would cause poor ventilation. Note: Excessive heat can increase the load and cause this error code to appear.

2. If no obstructions or other issues are found, replace the Wave Filter Board (40).

3. If the error code is still present, after changing the Wave Filter Board, replace the Drive Board (39).

1. Check the AC supply voltage to the DC BUS, at the White and Black terminals at the bottom left on the Drive Board (39).

Note: If the voltage fluctuates down and the power grid is being disrupted, turn the system off and restart in 3 minutes.

2. If the error code is still present, replace Drive Board (39).

E14 Compressor Phase Error

Disconnect the power supply, wait 3 minutes, then power the unit back on. If the error code is still present, please do the following.

1. Check the voltage connections at the compressor, to make sure that the wiring is connected properly.

2. Disconnect the terminals U, V and W on the compressor. 3. Test the Ohm resistance, on the compressor, between U and V terminals,

U and W terminals and V and W terminals. Note: The Ohm value should be between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω.

4. If the Ohm value is between 0.5 and 2.5 Ω, and the compressor will not start, please replace Drive Board, item 39.

5. If the Ohm value falls outside of 0.5 and 2.5 Ω, replace the Compressor (3).

Note: Please refer to the Limited warranty for information on the sealed system warranty.

E15 DC Condenser Motor Fan Speed Abnormal

1. Disconnect unit power. 2. Check the Condenser Fan Blades (24) for damage. 3. Check the Condenser Fan Motor wiring harness for damage. 4. Check the Condenser Fan Motor connections to the Main Circuit Board

(41) (see Photo MCB-M1 on page 26). 5. Turn power on to the equipment and observe the Condenser Fan Blades,

which should be operating at high speed, until a fault code occurs. If the Error Code continues to appear, please do the following:

1. Measure the DC voltage to the condenser fan motor, between the Red and Black terminals on the Main Control Board (41), at the molex plug at the lower left. Please see Photo MCB-M1 on page 26.

Note: The DC voltage between the Red and Black terminals should be approximately 310 VDC.

2. If the DC voltage is not approximately 310 VDC, replace the Main Control Board (41).

3. Measure the DC voltage at the condenser motor, between the white and black terminals on the molex plug on the motor.

Note: The DC voltage at the condenser motor, between the white and black terminals should be approximately 15 VDC.

4. Replace the Condenser Fan Motor (26), if the system continues to display the Error Code.

E17 PFC Overcurrent Protection

Check the connection wire to the Reactor (44), to see if the Reactor is short-circuited. Check for damage or any other abnormalities to the Reactor. If there is any damage, please replace the Reactor (44). If there is no damage or abnormality to the Reactor, replace the drive board (39).

E18 Circuit Abnormality Detected by the PFC

Current Replace the Drive Board (39).

1. Check the wiring harness that connects the Main Control Board (41) to

the Drive Board (39). See Connection Photos MCB-M1 and DB-M1 on page 26.

2. Check the molex connection to this wiring harness on both the Main Control Board (41) and the Drive Board (39). See Connection Photos MCB-M1 and DB-M1 on page 20.

3. If the Error Code is still present, change the Main Control Board (41). 4. If the Error Code is present, after changing the Main Control Board,

change the Drive Board (39).

E26 Low Voltage AC Input Protection

Check the Supply AC Voltage to see if it is lower than 165 VAC. If the Supply AC Voltage is normal (165 VAC – 265 VAC), check the DC Voltage on the Drive Board (39). If the DC Voltage on the Drive Board is less than 150 VDC, replace the Drive Board (39).

E27 Condenser Coil Temperature Sensor Error

1. Check the Condenser Coil Sensor (51) wire body and make sure that the

wire is not damaged. 2. Check the Condenser Coil Sensor wire connection to the Main Control

Board (41), at the molex plug in the bottom center of the board, to make sure that it is connected properly. See Connection Photos MCB-M1 on page 20.

3. Check the sensor's resistance value drifts (in Ohms). Note: The Ohm value should be at 20,000 at 77° F. The Ohm value decreases as the temperature increases.

4. Replace the Condenser Coil Sensor (51) and the Outdoor Ambient Sensor (51), as they share the same molex plug, if the Ohm value is incorrect.

If replacing the Condenser Coil Sensor and Outdoor Ambient Sensor does not clear the Error Code:

5. Replace the Main Control Board (41).

E28 Outdoor Ambient Temperature Sensor Error

1. Check the Outdoor Ambient Temperature Sensor (51) wire body and

make sure that the wire is not damaged. 2. Check the Outdoor Ambient Temperature Sensor wire connection to the

Main Control Board (41), at the molex plug in the bottom center of the board, to make sure that it is connected properly. See Connection Photos MCB-M1 on page 20.

3. Check the sensor's resistance value drifts (in Ohms). Note: The Ohm value should be at 15,000 at 77° F. The Ohm value decreases as the temperature increases.

4. Replace the Outdoor Ambient Sensor (51), and the Condenser Coil Sensor (51), as they share the same molex plug, if the Ohm value is incorrect.

If replacing the Outdoor Ambient Sensor and the Condenser Coil Sensor does not clear the Error Code:

3. Check the sensors resistance value drifts (in Ohms). Note: The Ohm value should be around 50,000 at 77° F. The Ohm value decreases as the temperature increases.

4. Replace the Condenser Coil Sensor (51) and the Outdoor Ambient Sensor (51), as they share the same molex plug, if the Ohm value is incorrect.

If replacing the Condenser Coil Sensor and the Outdoor Ambient Sensor does not clear the Error Code:

5. Replace the Main Control Board (41).

E31 Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor Error

1. Check the Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor (50) wire body and make sure that the wire is not damaged.

2. Check the Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor wire connection to the Main Control Board (41), at the molex plug in the bottom right / center of the board, to make sure that it is connected properly. See Connection Photos MCB-M1 on page 20.

3. Check the sensor's resistance value drifts (in Ohms). Note: The Ohm value should be 15,000 at 77° F. The Ohm value decreases as the temperature increases.

4. Replace the Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor (50) and the Evaporator Coil Sensor (50), as they share the same molex plug, if the Ohm value is incorrect.

If replacing the Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor and the Evaporator Coil Sensor does not clear the Error Code:

5. Replace the Main Control Board (41).

E32 Evaporator Coil Temperature Sensor Error

1. Check the Evaporator Coil Sensor (50) wire body and make sure that the wire is not damaged.

2. Check the Evaporator Coil Sensor wire connection to the Main Control Board (41), at the molex plug in the bottom right / center of the board, to make sure that it is connected properly. See Connection Photos MCB-M1 on page 20.

3. Check the sensor's resistance value drifts (in Ohms). Note: The Ohm value should be at 20,000 at 77° F. The Ohm value decreases as the temperature increases.

4. Replace the Evaporator Coil Sensor (50) and the Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor (50), as they share the same molex plug, if the Ohm value is incorrect.

If replacing the Evaporator Coil Sensor and Indoor Ambient Temperature Sensor does not clear the Error Code:

1. Check the Outdoor Ambient Sensor (51) wire body and make sure that the wire is not damaged.

2. Check the Outdoor Ambient Sensor wire connection to the Main Control Board (41), at the molex plug in the bottom center of the board, to make sure that it is connected properly. See Connection Photos MCB-M1 on page 20.

3. Replace the Outdoor Ambient Sensor (51) and the Condenser Coil Sensor (51), as the share the same molex plug, if it appears that the Outdoor Ambient Sensor is damaged, or the wire body is damaged.

4. Move the Outdoor Ambient Sensor (51), while leaving it plugged into the board, into the conditioned air space.

5. Check the sensor's resistance value drifts (in Ohms). Note: In normal operation, the drift should read 50,000 Ω at 77° F.

6. Check the evaporator and condenser coils for debris or any other restriction, if the compressor is running hot.

7. Check the system to see if it is low on refrigerant. 8. Add refrigerant, if needed.

If the code is still active: 1. Replace the compressor (3).

E34 Outdoor Condenser Coil Overheat Protection Alert

The Multi Manufacturing wired wall controller is needed, in order to perform the following. Please follow menu prompts, as shown in the wired wall controller manual.

1. If the temperature value of the A3 Sensor (??) is below 149° F, but the unit still reports an E34 fault, replace the Main Control Board (41).

2. If the temperature value of the A3 sensor is above 149° F, lightly touch the condenser coil with your hand to gauge the temperature. If the temperature feels much cooler than 149° F, replace the Condenser Coil Temperature Sensor (??).

If the temperature value of the A3 sensor is high and the condenser coil temperature is high, it is necessary to check whether the air conditioning system has too much or too little refrigerant, or the system's coils are blocked or the evaporator coil filter is dirty.

E35 Evaporator Coil Freeze Protection Alert

The Multi Manufacturing wired wall controller is needed, in order to perform the following. Please follow menu prompts, as shown in the wired wall controller manual.

1. If the temperature value of the A2 Sensor (??) is above 32° F, but the unit still reports an E35 fault, replace the Main Control Board (41).

2. If the temperature value of the A2 sensor is below 32° F, but the condenser coil feel warmer to the touch than 32° F, replace the Condenser Coil Temperature Sensor (??).

3. If the temperature of the A2 sensor and the condenser coil temperature are both higher than 32° F, check the refrigerant charge as it may be too high or too low.

E36 Indoor Evaporator Overheat Protection

The Multi Manufacturing wired wall controller is needed, in order to perform the following. Please follow menu prompts, as shown in the wired wall controller manual.

1. If the temperature value of the A2 Sensor (??) is above 143.6° F, but the unit still reports an E36 fault, replace the Main Control Board (41).

2. If the temperature value of the A2 sensor is above 143.6° F, but the evaporator coil feels much cooler to the touch than 143.6° F, replace the Evaporator Coil Sensor (50).

3. If the temperature of the A2 sensor and the evaporator coil temperature 143.6° F, and the evaporator coil feels hot to the touch, check the refrigerant charge as it may be too high or too low.

4. Adjust refrigerant charge accordingly, if needed. Note: A high A2 sensor temperature and high condensor coil temperature may also be the result of a dirty filter or a blockage in the condenser side of the unit.

5. Check for the filter and replace, if necessary.

E37 System High Pressure Protection

1. Check the High Pressure Switch (48) and the connecting wires for

possible damage. 2. Check wire connection from the switch wiring to the main Control Board

(41), at the left side of the bottom right set of molex plugs. Note: If the switch and wiring is undamaged and the wiring is connected correctly, there may be either too much refrigerant in the system, an obstruction in the condenser fan area or some other blockage on the condenser coil.

3. If the prior listed items are correct and in proper operation, please replace the High Pressure Switch (48).

E38 System Low Pressure Protection

1. Check the Low Pressure Switch (47) and connecting wires for possible

damage. 2. Check wire connection from the switch wiring to the main Control Board

(41), at the right side of the bottom right set of molex plugs. Note: If the switch and wiring is undamaged and the wiring is connected correctly, there may be either too much refrigerant in the system, an obstruction in the condenser fan area or some other blockage on the condenser coil.

3. If the prior listed items are correct and in proper operation, please replace the Low Pressure Switch (47).

E40 Wired Wall Controller Communication Fault

1. Check on the Main Control Board (41) to confirm that the wired wall

controller is properly connected. 2. Check wire from wired wall controller to the Main Control Board for

damage. 3. Replace the wired wall controller if the wire undamaged and properly

connected. 4. Replace the Main Control Board (41) if the error code is still present,

after replacing the wired wall controller.

1. Check the evaporator blower wheel, Item 19, for damage. 2. Check the wiring connections from the evaporator blower motor, at the

Drive Board (39) at the molex plug connection at the top right hand corner.

3. Turn the unit on and observe the fan speed. 4. Check the DC voltage between the red wire and black wires, at the molex

plug to ensure that the reading is 310 VDC. If the reading is not 310 VDC at the board, please replace the Evaporator Blower Motor (26).

5. Check the DC voltage between the white and black wires from the evaporator blower motor, at the motor molex plug to ensure that the reading is 15 VDC. If the reading is not 15 VDC, please replace the Evaporator Blower Motor (26).

6. Check the DC voltage between the yellow and black wires from the evaporator blower motor, at the molex plug to ensure that the reading is 6.5 VDC. If the reading is not 6.5 VDC, please replace the Evaporator Blower Motor (26).

E42 Reversing Valve Fault

1. Check voltage to the reversing valve at the molex plug on the Main Control Board (41). The molex plug is located on the lower right of the board, third plug up from the bottom, with two yellow wires to the plug.

Note: The DC voltage should be close to 15.4 VDC. 2. If the voltage is not close to 15.4 VDC, please replace the reversing valve

(6). Note: Please refer to the Limited warranty for information on the sealed system.

Transportation Damage The SPV-HP and Wall Sleeve are shipped in separate packages. All product that is shipped by Multi Manufacturing has been inspected at the factory and released to the freight carrier in good condition. When product is received, a visual inspection of the product must be made. Any evidence of shipping or handling damage must be noted on the delivery receipt in the presence of the carrier or carrier’s representative. If damage if found, a claim should be filed with the carrier immediately.

In the event of damage, the consignee should:

1. Make notation on the delivery receipt of any visible damage to shipment. 2. Notify carrier promptly and request an inspection, if the carrier is no longer at the consignee

address. 3. In the case of concealed damage, the carrier must be notified as soon as possible. 4. File the claim with the following supporting documents, within the 6 month statute of limitations.

a. Original Bill of Lading, certified copy or indemnity bond. b. Original paid freight bill or indemnity in lieu thereof. c. Original invoice or certified copy thereof, showing trade and other discounts or reductions. d. Copy of inspection report issued by carrier’s representative at the time damage was

reported to the carrier.

The carrier is responsible for making prompt inspection of damage and for a thorough investigation of each claim. The distributor or manufacturer will not accept claims from dealers for transportation damage.
