PROCEDURESA written report on all non-

student accidents and injuries shall be submitted to the university Human Resources office by the faculty or staff member most directly associated with the accident / injury

The Human Resource Office shall maintain a file of such reports and conduct

follow-up with the injured party as appropriate.

PROCEDURE - Workers Compensation Injury –Employee’ Supervisor

Supervisor must complete and submit Employer’s First Report of Injury to Crystal McClure in Human Resources within 24-48 hours of the incident. Even if the employee/student assistant’s injury does not require medical care.

Emergency Procedures: Reporting/ Treating Medical Problems

Step 1- Upon the occurrence of a medical emergency on campus call the University Police Department at (678)915-5555.

Step 2 – Once the medical emergency has been reported to the University Police, the Police Dispatcher shall ensure that a University Police officer is enroute to assist the victim. The Police Dispatcher shall also ensure that all needed emergency responders are requested.

Step 3 – An additional University Police Officer, when available shall escort outside emergency personnel to the victim’s exact location.

Emergency Procedures: Reporting/ Treating Medical Problems Step 4 – Once the victim is receiving medical attention from the

emergency medical responders, any witnesses to the incident shall remain in the area to assist the university Police with relevant information about the incident.

Step 5- At the earliest opportunity, the Police Dispatcher shall contact the University Nurse to apprise him/her of the incident.

Step 6- A written Police report will be generated in all incidences of illness or injury that require emergency responders. A written report of all non-student accidents/injuries shall be submitted to the University Human Resource Office by the faculty or staff member most directly associated with the accident/injury.

Note: The Human Resource Office shall maintain a file of such reports and conduct follow-up with the injured party as appropriate.
