The other day Julie and I had the opportunity to visit the Ft. Washington HOG Chapter and to thank them for their continued support of our

Bikes from Bikers program. During the HOG meeting, the topic of Rolling Thunder came up. We found out that they are going all out this year, as this may be the last parade as we know it now. Ft. Washington HD will be a pin stop, provide food and feature a very popular nationally known county music group! It sounds like it is going to be a good time not to be missed.

Once again, we are going to have the Activity Log Challenge. Your 2019 Activity Log may be picked up at our monthly meet-ings or the Demo Weekend Open House at the store (a copy is also on page 7). For those of you who are not familiar with this contest, just bring your Activity Log to any Baltimore Metro Chapter (BMC) event and get it signed by an Officer or Road Captain for a sponsored event. Monthly gatherings, rides, activ-ities and volunteering at events are all qualifying activities. The two people with the most participation at the end of year will receive gift cards from Harley-Davidson of Baltimore! And, new this year, we will pick one name at random to also receive a gift card. Pick up your cards and start logging!

On Saturday and Sunday, April 13 and 14 the store will be hav-ing their Spring Open House with the Demo Truck return. BMC will be cooking both Saturday and Sunday to provide food to all the customers. So, if you have some time and would like to have a lot of fun, please sign up to be a volunteer. If you are new to the Chapter, or one of our seasoned veterans, this is a great way to get to know or catch up with other Chapter mem-bers. You can contact Ron Duncan or myself to get your name on the list. After you volunteer, take advantage of the Demo rides and check out that bike you have always wanted to ride!!

We had a fantastic turnout at our Bull & Oyster Roast on Satur-day, March 23. Everyone had a great time playing the wheels, dancing to Whisker Fish and spending social time with members of the best HOG Chapter in Maryland! Thanks to everyone who spent time in preparation for this event and volunteered to run the wheels during the evening. We may need a bigger space next year!!

Now that it is getting a little warmer and staying light a little longer, I am hoping to see more of you out on the road on two wheels. Be safe and watch out for the cages!

Greetings HOG Brothers and Sisters.

Spring has sprung and it’s time to ride! It’s going to be a great year with many new and updated rides to come. I can’t think of a thing I’d rather be doing than riding and hanging out with our fantastic chapter. By the time you read this article many of you will have already been out riding and shaking off the winter blues. To get headed in the right direction, stop by the dealership to get your starting mileage verified for Ride 365 and the new Ride 365 Journey Challenge. There promises to be a lot of op-portunities to rack up points and win prizes at year’s end. As if you needed another reason to ride, check-in at dealerships, HOG Rallies and other HOG member events.

If you want to see what’s going on with our Chapter check out our Website and Facebook pages for all the ride and event infor-mation. We recommend that you opt-in on our “Rained Out” account for important updates regarding weather events that may impact a scheduled ride and to learn about additional impromptu rides.

It’s an exciting time for our chapter as we continue to grow and push the boundaries as to what a chapter can be. Thanks for all you do to make Baltimore Metro HOG “The Ultimate Riding Chapter”.

It is officially Spring! Flowers are blooming, days are longer....but most importantly, bikes are out on

the road again! It is music to our ears to hear the bikes pulling into the dealership!!

Coming up soon a group of us will be attending the HOT (HOG Officers Training) program and I am excited to see what's new in the world of HOG! Stay tuned, as I am sure we will all come back excited to share new ways to grow our membership and provide a great experience for all. I will get us set up for HOG'S RIDE 365, so remember to keep feeding me your mileage. But most importantly, get out and ride!

Motorcycle Sales: The sales floor is busy! Everybody has the fever! Are you feeling a new bike this year? Stop in and any one of our great team members on the sales floor will gladly take great care of you.

Riding Academy: We are up and running and our first classes have just graduated new riders! We always look for new HOG members from these classes, so if you see any new faces in the Store, please reach out to them and ask them to join. It is so awesome to be upstairs and see their excitement when they come off the range the 1st day. For many of them it is their first time on a motorcycle and they are fulfilling a Bucket List item or a dream they have always had. Do you remember your first ride? That rush of adrenaline feeling you got? If you have anyone that wants to "Live the Dream" have them go to hdstore.com and get registered.

Service: Schedule - Schedule – Schedule: three easy little words. You know you have roads to travel, trips already planned, and yet you want your service the day before you leave! Please make sure you leave plenty of time to get your fluids, tires and brakes checked, especially if your bike has been idle for a few months. Our Service Team is great, but we can only service so many bikes in a day or week. Plan ahead and we will get you ready to ride!

General Merchandise: The new spring/summer season of clothes are arriving daily. The girls have been working hard to re-arrange the store and attractively display all the new items. Safety Alert: April is “Check your Helmet” month. Always a good thing to do when you start riding again. This is especially important if your helmet is over 3 years old. If that is the case, it is probably time to get a new one. The interior of the helmets begin to break down from hair products and good old sweat! If you are like me, you have dropped that helmet at least once and that compromises the integrity of the whole helmet. Stop in and have our awesome sales staff get you sized for a new helmet this season.

MVP: Our MVP St. Patrick's Day Party was off the charts! For the first time in over 10 years we had nothing left at the end of the day! The Store on both sides was packed and we had waiting lines as folks purchased accessories and clothing for the new riding season.

Here are the winners of the Poker Walk:

1 Pair - Bill Lindsay $10 Gift Card 2 Pair - Bill Staats $20 Gift Card 3 of a Kind - Dan Sarzynski $25 Gift Card Straight - Pablo Ayesta $75 Gift Card Full House - Sandy Losemann $50 Gift Card

Congratulations to our Winners!

SAVE THE DATE: 2019 MDA Black-N-Blue Ball - Saturday, November 2nd.

ChapterManager

Fellow HOG Members:

It’s been great to see everyone coming out to our Winter events! We had a fabulous turnout for our Glassblowing social in March and many folks added some beau-tiful hand-made glassworks to their collections.

Our Annual Bull & Oyster Roast on March 23 was a fantastic sold-out success! It was a wonderful evening of food, fellow-ship and fun! Be sure to get your tickets early next year!

Now that warm weather is almost here, it will be great to see everyone on the Spring rides.

Our social gathering for April will be on Friday, April 19, from 5 to 7 pm at the Gunpowder Lodge on Route 1 in Kingsville. It’s a very pretty setting next to the Gunpowder River. Hope to see lots of you there with bikes filling the parking lot.

Don’t forget Harley-Davidson of Baltimore’s Demo Days on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday April 14. We always need Vol-unteers and participating is a good way to have fun and get to know your fellow Chapter members.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Chapter’s main fundrais-ing event, Casino Royale, on Saturday, June 15 at the H-D Store. Our Chapter Picnic will be on Sunday, July 14 at Wilson Point Park.

Looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and on the road!

Robin and Sue

Robin Churchill Activities Officer

Hey Folks, Spring has officially sprung. I’m hoping you have dusted off the “iron horse” and

are getting it ready for riding season. Don’t forget to check the tire pressure and all fluids due to inactivity this winter. We have lots of rides coming up, but unfortunately, not all Ride Plans are posted on the Web Page at this time. Our new website, although visually attractive, has some access issues that we are working through, as only certain Committee Chairs and Officers have access to update information. I do apologize for that and we are currently working on resolving this technical issue. The good news is Jim Bomberg and I do have access and will have all information posted as soon as we get it!

The Road Captain table will have upcoming ride information including which Road Captain is leading each ride. You will be able to ask the Captains directly if you have additional questions before the ride. Overnight rides are also in the planning stages and information will be available soon.

We are always open to ride suggestions. My HOG email is on the webpage. Please contact Jim or me to submit those sugges-tions.

Most importantly, “The Ultimate Riding Chapter” is in full swing!

Almost 90 miles and 2-1/2 hours in the saddle, with a stretch break at a scenic overlook in the middle, and lunch in Eldersburg at the ride end (Smokey's BBQ, perhaps?).
