Microsoft Windows 10: Introduction

An operating system (OS) is like the office you use to organize your life and as such, it should be designed around your individual needs. In this course, we will compare and contrast the most commonly found operating systems like Windows versus Mac. We will also briefly cover a few, more obscure systems you might not even know you’re already using, such as the common Android OS, popular on most cell phones. After the broad analysis of what’s available to users, we will learn specifically how to best use Windows 10 operating system as an organized storage space for your personal works. We will talk about portable storage mediums (flash drives, USB sticks, thumb drives, etc.) and how to transfer from your OS to these types of devices. We will cover settings and how to get your computer to behave in the way that is most comfortable for you. We will visit the app store to see what kinds of tools and toys are available for you to personalize your office even further. By the end of this course you should be able to move into your new OS office space with confidence.

But some people just weren’t made for “cookie cutters.” This class will show you how to adapt a theme to meet your, or your business’, unique needs. Included in this class will be advice on how to modify the visual styling of your WordPress site; how to create “custom post types,” which (among other uses) can help in the creation of a simple online store; and how to more effectively incorporate plugins to further extend the power of your WordPress website.
