Beau Monde Welcomes You! Wondering what Beau Monde is? Beau Monde is an association involving The Art Institute of Indianapolis students just like yourself. We are an organization that fosters fellowship among students and gives back to the community. We welcome you to the school and we invite you to come to one of our monthly all member meetings. If you are a returning student--great--it’s never too late to join. We welcome everyone with open arms. We meet the second Wednesday of every month to discuss upcoming events, workshops, and fundraisers. WHAT’S BEEN GOING ON WITH BEAU MONDE The new year brought exciting events for Beau Monde and Ai Indy. We kicked off the year with an amazing Valentine’s Day Candy Gram Sale. We raised about $150! All the money is going to be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Alicia Davis. For the rest of the quarter, we have been planning events for the spring, so be sure to be on the look for them! When deciding on new T-shirts, we knew that we wanted to create a shirt that is complementary to our organization and a crowd pleaser! Beau Monde turned to Trina Evans, a fellow Beau Monde member, who is interning with Stitch Sisters which is a local embroidery company to help us incorporate our new logo on a brand new style of shirt. Little did we know they would turn out so cool! Each officer’s shirt has a small embroidered crown on the back bottom right corner! Beau Monde would especially like to thank Stitch Sisters who specialize in group and organization embroideries. It was such a pleasure working with the women of Stitch Sisters to create a great new T-shirt that is fashionable to wear and great marketing for our organization. Be on the look out for Simon Fashion Now, Cara Charities fashion show and the Beau Monde fashion show, which all occur in April and May. Please make sure you are looking at the hallway fashion board for student and faculty highlights along with the boards in room #215 for student opportunities such as competitions and fashion events. Again, make sure you come by my office and let me know how your quarter is going. I am also open to any feedback you may have regarding activities for our department. Tommy Kmec Beau Mondes is pleased to announce that our Director of Events and Planning, Tommy Kmec, just got his dream internship at Walt Disney World! He is the first fashion student here at Ai Indy to be accepted in to a Disney internship and Beau Monde couldn't be prouder. As a cast member Tommy will be interning in one of the most competitive roles as a Vacation Planner in the hopes to one day intern with Disney’s Vacation Club. Ai and Beau Monde are very happy for Tommy and wish him the best luck at his new venture! Beau Monde Members painted wine glasses for a Susan G. Koman auction. We helped them raise over $1200.
It’s election time ! This June Beau Monde will be saying good bye to President Katie Justice, Director of Event’s and Planning Tommy Kmec and Secretary Amy Rigdon. With our fellow officers off to graduation future Presdient Madison Hanulak and future Director of Event’s and Planning Lila Sierra need Beau Monde Member's to help them lead this up coming year!
There will be four officer positions open this June 2011.
