Firstly, I would like to thank our parents for your co-operation in accommodating our short week. On Friday, our Curriculum Day was with Rob Vingerhoets who is a renown Maths consultant. It was a very beneficial with us getting a great insight into refining our teaching practices of mathematics. Our partnership with Kialla West continues to grow ensuring positive experiences for our staff for our professional learning. Thank you, Westies!
On ANZAC Day Angus and Callea represented Kialla Central Primary School at
the 11.00am Memory Service in Shepparton. They laid another gorgeous Native Flower wreath from Therese Nicholson owner of Blooming Buckets. I would also like to thank the Kerr and Fepuleai families for giving up their time to for this very special event.
Yesterday we had our first visit from Teeth on Wheels, a mobile dental service. The students were surprisingly excited about a visit the dentist. I am aware of some parents
being contacted at inappropriate times of the weekend which I will be talking to them about to improve this process. I pass on my apologies for this inconvenience. Parents / Carers will be contacted directly from the service to inform you if further follow up is required with a local dentist. The service will return in 6 months.
On Friday 3rd May, our students in Grades 3 to 6 will participate in the EGPSSA’s Cross Country at Lake Victoria. Our time frame to
prepare for this event through our House Cross Country at school has been limited by the holidays. Students will be leaving school at 12.15pm with the first event of the 10 and Under boys and girls starting at 1.00pm. Parents are welcome to come down and support our school. I also need some more helpers to marshal on course to make sure the students are running the right way and are safe. Please let me know if you can help—thanks! Our Pie Drive Fundraiser will be delivered on Wednesday 1st May. Orders can be collected in the Library from 3.00pm to 4.00pm. If you are unable to collect them yourself, please ensure you have alternative arrangements in place, as we simply don’t have the fridge space to store them for you. Thank you for your support as we raised over $400. I would like to acknowledge Charlie and his staff from Fiores Bakery Café.
Speaking of pies, our hot lunch days won’t start until after swimming. I will include
further information for our new families on how our hot lunch program works. This will also be a good reminder for our old families too.

Our Annual Swimming Program at Aquamoves will be held from Monday 6th to Friday 10th May. Our pool time is from
1.30pm to 2.30pm. We need a couple of dads to assist Mr Zito in the boys change rooms, however, you are required to have a Working With Children Check to do so. Our Dad helpers are required from 1.15pm to 1.30pm and 2.30pm to 2.45pm. Please let me know if you can help and provide a copy of your WWCC, if we do not already have a copy. If you have already paid your 2019 Excursion levy then no payment is required.

A WORD FROM MAGIC MAGPIES
Bomber 10 failed to mention another set of black and white ribbons will be
added to the Buckley/Thompson Trophy we have in our entry at the office. This
trophy was started to honor our ANZAC Day rivalry between Bomber 10 and
Magic Magpies! Once Bomber 10 has added the new ribbons, I encourage you to
come in and count the ribbons. More heartache for you Bomber 10!
Miss Baker has a Tigers scarf on this week too … poor Dees!
