ADAM MAŁYSZ

Adam Małysz (born December 3, 1977) is a Polish ski jumper. He was born and still lives in the town of Wisła in southern Poland. Małysz has won 38 World Cup competitions and only Finn Matti Nykänen has won more in history of ski jumping (46 times). Małysz won 3 times in row World Cup as first in history. Adam is also the most titled ski jumper in history in individual World Championships. In this year, he also won Ski Jumping World Cup (four times) and he got the title of the World Champion at the World Championships which took place in Sapporo (Japan).

OTYLIA JĘDRZEJCZAKOtylia Jędrzejczak is a famous Polish swimer. She is the current world and Olympic champion in the 200 metre butterfly. She took part in the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olimpics and twice broke the world record in the women's 200m butterfly.

ROBERT KUBICARobert Kubica started his career in karting in 1995.

In 2006 Kubica became the official 3rd/test driver for the BMW Sauber Formula One team. In August 2006, Kubica's teammate, Jacques Villeneuve, complained about headaches after his accident and Kubica was chosen by the team management to drive at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest. In the race, he finished in 7th place. Later, in his third race, the 2006 Italian Grand Prix, Kubica finished in a personal best third position writing his name into the history book as the first Polish driver to appear on a Formula One podium, as well as the first Polish driver to lead a Grand Prix.

ARTUR BORUCArtur Boruc is a one of the best European goalkeepers of his generation. Boruc is a big personality both on and off the pitch at Celtic Park. Boruc has since signed a permanent deal that keeps him at Celtic until 2009. The 193cm (6ft 4in) tall 'keeper joined Celtic initially on loan from Legia Warszawa in July 2005 and made an immediate impact when he saved a penalty in the first minute of his debut against Leicester City. He was one of the few successes for Poland at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.

VOLLEYBALL TEAMVolleyball World championship for men were held in Japan from 17 November 2006 to 3 December 2006. Like the previous edition, 24 Teams have participated in the Tournament. However, our volleyball team won silver medal in this championship. We defeated only with Brazil in final match.

HANDBALL TEAMFrom the beginning of the championships, the Polish team played surprisingly well. In the past, the Polish handball team's biggest achievement was a bronze medal at the world championships 25 years ago. In the final match our team defeated with Germans, who won gold medal. However, our team won the silver medal and took finaly the second place in the men's world championships in Germany.
