Four cultures in Lodz For many years, the rich history of multicultural Łódź

has been an inspiration for historians, cultural theorists and artists, as well as the residents of the city. Relations between Jews, Germans, Russians and Poles are the foundation of social awareness and cultural identity. This provides the groundwork for the Łódź of Four Cultures festival, attempting to open international dialogue and based on what we share in culture and art, irrespective of our background.

The Academy (SWSPZ), established in 1995, is one of the leading private universities in PL having approx. 20.000 students and 450 full time academic staff. There are 18 departments, including • Management,

There is also a Polish – American postgraduate studies program at Clark University, graduates of which obtain the Master title.

The innovative tool of this project aims to enable management in companies to improve their abilities to identify and predict skills and competencies across departments for employees older than 50 years and thus to better evaluate competencies of individual departments and the whole company.

The aim of the project was to give every person the opportunity to chart his/her generic competences and to upgrade those competences when necessary. Within the CECE project, a set of unique training programmes has been prepared to develop soft competencies for success in business, occupation and life. On project website you can learn what are the 11 unique key or soft competences, how they can be measured and how to train and refine them.

Our didactics are involved in a big Polish systemic project "Equal opportunities in the labour market for people 50 +".

Its primary objective is to promote economic activity of the age group 50+, as well as measures contributing to their extended activity in the labour market. Right now we are identifying measures that selected EU countries have adopted to promote active aging, including the assessment of the odds of the measures being implemented in the Polish labour market; the analysis will be used for developing good examples of systemic solutions that could support workers aged 50+.

Research done by our Academy:

The Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Research Institute is an independent research unit operating at the Lodz Academy of Management since January 2004. The Institute’s research is of an applied nature, its focus being to further innovation in national and regional enterprises, as well as to increase the economic competitiveness of the Lodz region in general.
