SPM-200 and SPS-200 continue the successful platform of the SPM-60/140 and SPS-60/140. With high precision and fast processing speed, this platform set a new standard in optics manu-facturing.

The patented 360° multifunctional swivel head with 2-tool spindle technology, an ultra-compact polymer concrete base, and the large working range of the inductive linear axis motor are key factors for this high performance level in working speed, accuracy and process stability.

The SPM-200 can be equipped with one or two tool spindles. Depending on the process, this could be high speed or high torque spindles with 2 tools per spindle or the new horizontal spindle for disc and ball tools.

The combination of different spindles of-fers high flexibility and various process steps. Besides spherical process ing and highly sophis-ticated asphere production in disc and cup-wheel grinding modes, it is possible to process cylinder, torroidal parts and freeforms in spiral or raster mode.

The Integrated Quality control System (IQS) com pensates inaccuracies caused by tool wear. Aspheres can be verified with the On Ma-chine Metrology system (OMM) and cor rected directly in the machine.

The SPS-200 polishes spheres by pre- and finepolishing in Synchrospeed or Vario-speed Polishing Technology. The Adaptive Determin-istic Aspherical Polishing Technology (ADAPT) lets operators process highly accurate aspherical shapes in an efficient and repeatable way.

Combining maximum process and substrate geometry flexibility, superior speed and consistent pro-cessing accu racy with disc and cup-wheel mode grinding enables cost-effective production and fast time-to-market.
