On December 7 the mini titles for Ms Traditional Look, Ms. Catwalk and Ms Personality will be worked off. On Sun- day December 8 the mini title for Ms Talent, Ms Designer and Ms Crowning Glory will be held. Today, Fashion Designer Wear by Hirumi Perera is show- cased as she will launch her line of designer wear ‘Hiranna’ at the pageant Ms Lanka 2013. Hirumi Perera has just started her career as a fashion designer after completing her degree in Fashion and Apparel Designing from Bangalore University. “I am thrilled to have my designs displayed at such a prestigious event. Ever since I was a child my dream was to be a fashion designer. Wherev- er, I went, I had a pencil and paper I used to sketch dresses. I like to play with colours, mix and match it in my designs. For me each dress is a unique art work. My theme for the fashion show is ‘Beautiful Butterfly’ (‘Bean Papillon’) she said. According to the organisers, contestants who are absent for more than three mini titles will not be eligible to com- pete in the semi final, hence they will be eliminated from competing in the Sunday Observer Most Popular Contestant category. This is the 18th successive year that the Ms Lanka Beauty Pageant is organised by Gwendoline Kuhatheva Director/ Principal of Technique International (Pvt) Ltd., Institute for Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Spa Management. Hair and Make-up is by Ranmali Associates Intl (Pvt) Ltd., Cho- reography is by Eshani Jinasena and Geetha Kanakaratne Co-ordinated by Achini Pathirathne. Printing is sponsored by Nishi Weerasinghe of Salon Nail Stop, Colombo. Hirumi Perera is the sponsor for the Ms Designer mini titles with her brand of Hiranna. The sponsors for the event are the Sunday Observer the print media sponsor, Asian Fabric, Ramya Holdings, Trendy Wear, Sterling Flowers – official florist, Softlogic – official computer facilities, Official photographer is Studio B 7, Damayanthi Beauty Centre and Twinza Designs – designer for the evening wear.
