have emerged as the latest development to give mountain bikers

an edge on the trail. We have embraced the big wheel and made

it our own—a true Specialized 29er. As riders, and by observing

others on the trail, we have built each bike for the experience, and

dedicated ourselves to eliminating the short comings of regular

29ers; it is not good enough to simply use the same geometry

from a 26-inch bike. For up-and-coming double-track riders to

experienced trail surgeons and their full-suspension machines,

our integrated 29 componentry makes Specialized 29ers the

lightest, fastest, and most efficient bikes on the trail. Tall or short,

29ER FOR EVERY TRAIL EXPERIENCE >The benefits of the “big” wheels are available through our entire XC, Trail, All-Mountain, Recreation, and Women’s lineups. From the Hardrock rider getting their feet wet in mountain biking, to the woman whose Rumor perfectly fits her active lifestyle, to the aggressive rider charging demanding terrain aboard an Enduro, Specialized 29ers deliver the stability and control riders demand.

MOST-RESPONSIVE HANDLING > We keep our chainstays short on all our 29er frames, so the rear triangle remains stiff for a responsive ride. We also use shorter, tapered head tubes to keep the front end low for agile and controlled handling.

LOWEST CENTER OF GRAVITY > By keeping the bottom bracket at the already low height of our 26-inch bikes, we help the rider feel “in” the bike as opposed to “on top” of the bike. This low center of gravity boosts stability and control over typical 29ers.

LIGHTEST 29ERS > Each of our 29er models is optimised for lightweight performance. From FACT carbon fibre frames to tubeless-ready Roval wheelsets, we shave weight to improve the riding experience.

TYRES > We have full range experience-specific 29er tyres—from the race-oriented, fast-rolling Renegade, to the versatile Fast Trak, and the aggressive Purgatory and Butcher.

GEARING > To get bigger wheels up to speed, we use custom 29er-specific gear ratios to meet riders’ specific needs.

HANDLEBAR HEIGHT > We equip different 29ers with unique handlebars to keep the front end height in check, depending upon the bike and rider needs. Although our head tubes are super short, they meet our rigorous testing requirements to live up to years of trail-induced abuse.

From the 100mm-travel Epic to the 155mm-travel Enduro, we’ve tuned the suspension to specifically meet the demands of their riding style.
