    MANNING PARK BIRD BLITZ When: June 17-19

    Where: Manning Park

    What: Mannings diverse mix of coastal, mountain, and interior climates support a huge variety of birds over 200 species.

    Established in 1983, the Manning Park Bird Blitz is one of BCs longest-running bird counts. The event provides a vital service to Manning Park birders are helping to build a database that now spans over 30 years, giving biologists a better picture of the parks changing species diversity over time. This event is hosted by Hope Mountain Centre for Outdoor Learning.

    NATIONAL ABORIGINAL DAY When: June 21

    Where: Tuckkwiowhum Heritage Village, 45971 Hicks Road, Boston Bar (off Trans Canada Highway)

    What: To celebrate the unique heritage and diverse cultures of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis in Canada, they are hosting a fun day filled with activities and demonstrations, including:

    Traditional dancers Artisans

    Guided tours Indian taco / bannock concession

    Fun activities for adults and kids and more!

    HOPE FILM CLUB: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK When: June 30 at 7:30pm

    Where: Hope Cinema, 376 Wallace St. Hope

    What: Join the Hope Film Club as they celebrate the 35th anniversary of Harrison Fords iconic role as Indiana Jones on the big screen in Hopes historic theatre.

  • JULY EVENTSCANADA DAY IN HOPE, CASCADES & CANYONS - JULY 1 Hope, Cascades & Canyons is a great place to celebrate Canada! With events happening in Hope, Manning Park, Yale and at the Hope River General Store, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

    HOPE: Starting at 9 am events in Hope include: flag raising, classic car show, KidZone, live music, fireworks and more. All events are FREE to the public and are happening at Memorial Park and 6th Avenue Park. Canada Day events in Hope are hosted by Recreation,

    Culture and Airpark Services.

    MANNING PARK: A BBQ, kids crafts, face painting, Canadian music, and free cupcakes are just some of the fun things happening at the Lightning Lake Day Use area in Manning Park. This event is FREE to the public.

    HOPE RIVER GENERAL STORE: The Hope River General Store in Dogwood Valley will be hosting its annual Canada Day Salmon BBQ. This event is FREE to the public.

    YALE HISTORIC SITE: Hot dog BBQ, cake, raffles, games, face painting, gold panning, live entertainment and lots more is happening on Canada Day in Yale! Fun for everyone!

    HOPE MOUNTAIN MARKETWhen: Saturdays in July and August

    Where: Memorial Park in downtown Hope

    What: The Hope Mountain Market is one of Hopes favourite open-air markets. The market features quality goods from local artisans, crafters, farmers, and a variety of small businesses.

    STORY TIME IN THE PARK When: July 5 and 12

    Where: Memorial Park in downtown Hope

    What: Bring your kids down to Memorial Park to read books, meet friends, and get active! A good quality childrens picture book is read aloud to the families in attendance and a copy of the same book is given to each family to keep for their home library.

    Where: Memorial Park in downtown Hope

    What: Concerts in the Park is a FREE concert series held in Memorial Park every Saturday in July and August.

The Great Parks Day Quiz Show is happening at the amphitheatre in the evening, so come ready with your knowledge of BC Parks to win prizes.

    Where: 6th Avenue Event Bowl in HopeWhat: The 11th annual Summer Smash hosted by the Hope Motorsports Group is not to be missed! There will be 4x4 and mini-stock races, as well as car and truck demolition derbies.

    OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT When: July 28 at 9pm

    Where: Recreation Centre - 1005 6th Ave. Hope

    What: Come out to the 6th Avenue Park to experience a family friendly outdoor movie, popcorn, and the cool evening air.

    LIGHTS ON LIGHTNING LAKE LANTERN FESTIVAL When: July 30

    Where: Lightning Lake Day Use Area in Manning Park

    What: Join us for a lantern building workshop and BBQ at the Lightning Lake Day Use Area. In the evening, launch your lantern from Spruce Bay Beach and watch the magic of lit lanterns across the lake.

    FRASER RIVER GOLD PANNING CHAMPIONSHIPS When: August 18-21

    Where: Anderson Creek Campground, Trans Canada Highway, Boston Bar, Fraser River in Yale

    What: Yukon Dan hosts the annual Fraser River Gold Panning Championships at Anderson Creek Campground in Boston Bar. Participants from around the world compete in several different events to see who can recover a predetermined amount of gold flakes from a bucket of pay dirt the fastest. There will also be free gold panning along the Fraser River in Yale on August 18 & 19.

    CONCERTS IN THE PARK FESTIVAL When: August 20-21

    Where: Memorial Park in downtown Hope

    What: This epic summer festival will include #IndieInThePark, #CountryInThePark, along with Norden the Magician, a childrens music performer on Sunday, a hula hoop competition, a photography contest, face painting, Potters in the Park, and more! Dont miss out on what is guaranteed to be a fun weekend in Hope, BC!

    THE GREAT FRASER RIVER SALMON BBQ COMPETITION When: August 20

    Where: Memorial Park (Hope)

    What: Western Canadas favourite BBQ and smoked salmon competition is back and invites you to compete, judge, eat, and have fun! This full day event is happening in conjunction with the Concerts in the Park Festival, so participants can enjoy music and art while they try the best tasting salmon on either side of the Rockies.

    HOPE LADIES OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT When: August 26-28

    Where: Hope Golf Course - 900 Golf Course Rd., Hope

    What: Practice your game with a 9-hole round in the week prior to the annual tournament. Enjoy Happy Hour and a Putting Contest on Friday evening. Shotgun start for the tournament begins on Saturday at 7.45 am and 1pm. Followed by a banquet and entertainment in the evening. A BBQ lunch happens on Sunday. Excellent prizes! You could Win a Car!

    Where: Lightning Lake Day Use Area in Manning Park

    What: Kite decorating/building workshop and a BBQ! A group kite launch will happen at 2:30pm.

    BRIGADE DAYS When: September 9-11

    Where: 6th Ave. Park in Hope

    What: Brigade Days is Hopes ultimate end-of-summer festival! This years event includes an outdoor concert featuring the band Chilliwack, a parade, demolition derby, 4x4 races, an enduro-cross race, Boondock Bike Jam, dodgeball and softball tournaments, midway rides, and more!

    What: The Kettle Valley Railway and the Othello Tunnels are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year! In celebration, author and historian Joe Smuin will lead a mountain bike tour along the Coquihalla Summit.

    PUMPKIN DROP

    When: October 10

    Where: Hells Gate Airtram, 43111 Trans Canada Highway, Boston Bar

    What: Hells Gate Airtram celebrates the end of the season with its ninth annual Pumpkin Drop. Drop your pumpkin from 500 feet, hit the target, and win your chance to spin the big prize wheel. Anyone who brings a carved pumpkin rides the tram for FREE.
