Where are the Quaker voices in media?

Three centuries ago, the Publishers of Truth took to the public squares and couldn't be silenced. Jail windows had to be boarded up to deter imprisoned Friends from their insistent proclamation.

Where are the Quaker voices in media?

The only media George Fox had available to him were “tongue” and “pen.” Can we have any doubt at all, had he lived in our time, that he would not have likewise exhorted Friends to master cell-cam and website, and put them to use as powerful forms of religious speech?

speakingtruth.org is a project that was conceived at the 2006

media, new technology, and non-profit management.

We created a gathering place on the web for powerful and transformative media from all branches of the Quaker tradition. We launched the website in the summer of 2007 and have spent the last several years adding content to the site, creating additional programming, and doing needed fundraising.

We offer audio and video programming of all kinds and lengths—interviews, music, sermons, spiritual reflections, public affairs—which are generally available by download, streaming, and podcast.
