Speakers’ Bios Tobias Adrian Financial Counsellor and Director Monetary and Capital Markets Department International Monetary Fund Tobias Adrian is the Financial Counsellor and Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In this capacity, he leads the IMF’s work on financial sector surveillance, monetary and macroprudential policies, financial regulation, debt management, and capital markets. He also oversees capacity building activities in IMF member countries, particularly with regard to the supervision and regulation of financial systems, central banking, monetary and exchange rate regimes, and asset and liability management. Prior to joining the IMF, Mr. Adrian was a Senior Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Associate Director of the Research and Statistics Group. At the Federal Reserve, he contributed to monetary policy, financial stability policies, and to crisis management. Mr. Adrian taught at Princeton University and New York University and has published extensively in economics and finance journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. His research spans asset pricing, financial institutions, monetary policy, and financial stability, with a focus on aggregate consequences of capital markets developments. Mr. Adrian holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, a Diplom from Goethe University Frankfurt and a Maîtrise from Dauphine University Paris. maintain ongoing dialogue with a wide range of stakeholders including investors and environmental organizations. She has also built the firm’s knowledge and leadership on climate change and carbon asset risk, and is responsible for the firm’s carbon disclosure and ESG reporting. Marisa has 15 years of experience working on environmental and energy issues in the private and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Marisa served as an analyst with Bloomberg, where her research focused on assessing the impacts of U.S. policy on the energy sector. She also spent several years developing methane reduction projects in the mining and oil & gas sectors with Verdeo Group, a developer, owner and operator of clean energy projects. In addition to identifying and evaluating project development opportunities, she managed activities related to the certification of carbon assets, and served as the company’s expert on U.S. and international climate and energy policy. She also developed renewable energy and methane reduction projects with Econergy International, an independent power producer with assets in Latin America and the U.S., which was acquired by GDF Suez. She began her career with the Surdna Foundation’s environmental team, providing grants to nonprofit organizations supporting sustainable forestry, smart growth, renewable energy, and market-based solutions to climate change. Marisa received a B.A. from Wellesley College and an M.P.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. William Coen Secretary General Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) Bank for International Settlements As Secretary General, Mr. Coen directs the work of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and manages its Secretariat. Bill chairs the Basel Committee’s Policy Development Group and the Committee’s Coherence and Calibration Task Force. He also served as chair of the Committee’s Corporate Governance Task Force and is a member of the IFRS Advisory Council. Prior to his appointment as Secretary General in 2014, Bill served as Deputy Secretary General since 2007. His responsibilities focused on the Basel Committee’s response to the global financial crisis, including the coordination of the Committee’s various Basel III initiatives. Bill joined the Basel Committee’s Secretariat in 1999 and had previously worked for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington D.C. as well as for the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. He began his career as a credit officer of a New York City-based bank. Bill is a native of New York City and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Fordham University and Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College.

Rodrigo Rosa Couto Head of Capital Management and Wholesale Bank Chief Financial Officer Itau Unibanco Mr. Couto is the Head of Capital Management and Wholesale Bank CFO of Itau Unibanco, a regional Latin American bank. He also co-chairs the Risk Committee of the Brazilian Banking Federation (FEBRABAN). Prior to joining Itau in 2008, Mr. Couto was a consultant with McKinsey&Co., working primarily with the Risk Management and Finance Practices, from 2005-2008 and a Bank Supervisor of the Central Bank of Brazil from 1998-2003. As a member of the Central Bank of Brazil, Mr. Couto was seconded to the Financial Stability Institute of the BIS in 2003. Mr. Couto holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul as well as an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Graduate School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. Jeanmarie Davis Senior Vice President – Enterprise Risk Supervision Function Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Jeanmarie Davis is a senior vice president and the leader of the Enterprise Risk Supervision Function within the Supervision Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Ms. Davis is responsible for delivering specialized expertise across several supervisory portfolios. Ms. Davis began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in June 1985 as a bank applications analyst. She has had several senior leadership positions within the Group. They have included leading departments of risk and payments specialists and running the supervisory programs for portfolios of firms. Ms. Davis also created the Financial Market Infrastructure Function within the Supervision Group. Ms. Davis is a member of the Federal Reserve’s Operating Committee, which has responsibility for the supervision of systemically important financial institutions. Ms. Davis holds an M.B.A. from Baruch College and a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University.

Aurora Ferrari Practice Manager Finance & Markets Global Practice The World Bank Group Aurora Ferrari is the Practice Manager in the Finance & Markets Global Practice for Financial Stability, Bank Regulation and Supervision. She is responsible for the FSAP program, the relationship with FSB and Basel, and global financial stability issues. Prior to this, she was the Practice Manager for Europe and Central Asia and Middle East and North Africa countries, where she focused on bank resolution, NPLs, and technical assistance on the implementation of EU Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive. Aurora's past experience encompasses working on financial inclusion issues in South Asia and bank investments at the EBRD. Aurora holds a degree in Law (University of Parma) and an M.A. in International Economics and Relations (Johns Hopkins University). Philip Fernandez Corporate Treasurer DBS Group Philip Fernandez is Corporate Treasurer for DBS Group, responsible globally for the firm’s US$320 billion balance sheet, capital management, wholesale funding and structural FX across the 14 countries in which DBS operates. He was appointed Corporate Treasurer in April 2009 and is a member of the group senior management team.

Phil was named Bank Treasurer of the Year at The Asset Asian Awards 2015. He led DBS to the IFR Asia Issuer of the Year 2016 among many other awards. He was also awarded the Singapore Institute of Banking & Finance Fellowship in Sep 2015. Prior to his current role, Philip was DBS Group head of Market Risk from 2004 – 2009. Philip holds an M.A. in Engineering and Management from the University of Cambridge in the UK. He was an adjunct associate professor at the Singapore Management University for six years until December 2013, where he lectured in quantitative finance. José García Cantera Chief Financial Officer Banco Santander José García Cantera is Senior Executive Vice-President of Banco Santander and he became Chief Financial Officer and Head of the Finance Division on January 2015. Mr. García Cantera was CEO of Banesto since 2006, having joined the bank in September 2003 as Senior Executive-Vice President of Wholesale Banking, comprising Corporate Banking, Treasury, Capital Markets, Banesto Bolsa and the bank's international operations. Before working at Banesto, Mr. García Cantera held senior executive positions at Salomon Brothers-Citigroup. He was a member of the Management Committee of Citigroup EMEA and of the Board of Directors of Citigroup Capital Markets UK and Citigroup EMEA. During his time as a Latin American stock analyst, he was rated as best analyst by a number of specialized publications including Institutional Investor, Reuters, Extel and Global Investor between 1995 and 2002. José García Cantera is an industrial engineer and holds an M.B.A. from IE Business School. Timothy F. Geithner President and Managing Director Warburg Pincus Timothy F. Geithner was the 75th Secretary of the Treasury for the first term of President Barack Obama’s administration. He was a principal architect of the president's successful strategy to avert economic collapse and to reform the financial system. Between 2003 and 2009, Mr. Geithner served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He first joined the Treasury Department as a civil servant in 1988 and held a number of positions in three administrations, including Undersecretary for International Affairs under Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lawrence Summers. Mr. Geithner is the author of STRESS TEST: Reflections on Financial Crises. He chairs the Program on Financial Stability at the Yale University School of Management, where he is also a visiting lecturer. He is Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the International Rescue Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a member of the Group of Thirty. Mr. Geithner is currently President of Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm.

Michael S. Gibson Director of the Division of Supervision and Regulation Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Michael S. Gibson is Director of the Division of Supervision and Regulation at the Federal Reserve Board. As division director, he oversees the Federal Reserve’s development of bank regulatory policy and its supervision of banking organizations. He represents the Federal Reserve on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and works closely with officials from other U.S. and international government agencies on bank oversight issues. He formerly served as Deputy Director in the Division of Research and Statistics at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, where he was responsible for overseeing the division’s financial functions. He has worked on research and policy issues related to financial stability, financial markets, and derivatives. He has authored articles on value at risk, stress testing, and credit derivatives. He served on the faculty of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business for two years and as a visiting lecturer at Princeton University. He has a Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University. Nigel Jenkinson Division Chief, Monetary and Capital Markets Department International Monetary Fund Nigel Jenkinson is the Division Chief of the Financial Supervision and Regulation Division in MCM. Before that he worked in MCM’s Immediate Office, where he contributed to the systematic analysis and assessment of a range of financial stability issues and helping guide the work on the formulation of policy recommendations in these areas. Prior to joining the Fund, Nigel was an Adviser to the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in Basel during 2009-2014. Before that, he had a 30-year career at the Bank of England and served as Executive Director for Financial Stability from 2003-2008, where he represented the BOE on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and the Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS). He has chaired a number of international working groups, including the BCBS Working Group on Liquidity, and FSB Analytical Group on Vulnerabilities, and has written on a number of aspects of financial stability including systemic risk analysis, crisis management frameworks, the international framework for financial regulation, and data gaps and data quality. He is a national of the United Kingdom, and has an M.Sc. in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics.

Eileen Kiely Director Risk and Quantitative Analysis Team BlackRock

Eileen Kiely, Director, is a member of BlackRock's Risk and Quantitative Analysis team, responsible for Counterparty and Concentration Risk. Her primary focus is on central counterparties. Immediately prior to joining BlackRock in 2015, Eileen worked for nearly 3 years as a Director at RBC Capital Markets, where she managed fundamental credit risk to financial market infrastructures, including clearinghouses and financial technology firms. Before that, she spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs in Credit Risk Management & Advisory, where she covered a variety of sectors, including exchanges, central counterparties, broker dealers and investment advisors.

Eileen earned a B.A. in International Relations from the American University, an M.A. in Economics from George Mason University, and an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Christine Lagarde Managing Director International Monetary Fund

Born in Paris in 1956, Christine Lagarde completed high school in Le Havre and attended Holton Arms School in Bethesda (Maryland, USA). She then graduated from law school at University Paris X, and obtained a Master’s degree from the Political Science Institute in Aix en Provence.

After being admitted as a lawyer to the Paris Bar, Christine Lagarde joined the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie as an associate, specializing in Labor, Anti-trust, and Mergers & Acquisitions. A member of the Executive Committee of the Firm in 1995, Christine Lagarde became the Chairman of the Global Executive Committee of Baker & McKenzie in 1999, and subsequently Chairman of the Global Strategic Committee in 2004.

Christine Lagarde joined the French government in June 2005 as Minister for Foreign Trade. After a brief stint as Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in June 2007 she became the first woman to hold the post of Finance and Economy Minister of a G-7 country. From July to December 2008, she also chaired the ECOFIN Council, which brings together Economics and Finance Ministers of the European Union, and helped foster international policies related to financial supervision, regulation, and strengthening global economic governance. As Chairman of the G-20 when France took over its

presidency for the year 2011, she set in motion a wide-ranging work agenda on the reform of the international monetary system.

On July 5, 2011, Christine Lagarde became the eleventh Managing Director of the IMF, and the first woman to hold that position. On February 19, 2016, the IMF Executive Board selected her to serve as IMF Managing Director for a second five-year term starting on July 5, 2016.

Christine Lagarde was named Officier in the Légion d'honneur in April 2012.

A former member of the French national team for synchronized swimming, Christine Lagarde is the mother of two sons.

Sabine Lautenschläger Member of the Executive Board European Central Bank

Sabine Lautenschläger was born in Stuttgart in 1964. She studied law in Bonn. After passing the second state examination in law, she joined the Bundesaufsichtsamt für das Kreditwesen (BAKred – Federal Banking Supervisory Office), which later became the Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht (BaFin – Federal Financial Supervisory Authority). In the course of her career at BAKred/BaFin, she held several management positions before being appointed BaFin’s Chief Executive Director of Banking Supervision in 2008. Later, in 2011, she additionally was Member of the Management Board and Board of Supervisors of the European Banking Authority (EBA) in London.

In 2011, Sabine Lautenschläger moved to the Deutsche Bundesbank, serving as Vice-President until January 2014, when she was appointed to the Executive Board of the European Central Bank. As Member of the Executive Board she is also Member of the Governing Council which is responsible for the Monetary Policy in the Euro Area. Since her appointment as Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) in February 2014, she has also been in charge of ECB Banking Supervision. She represents ECB Banking Supervision on the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Financial Stability Board Plenary, and the Financial Stability Board’s Standing Committee on Supervisory and Regulatory Cooperation.

Liu Chunhang BCBS/SIG/Chair & Director General of the Policy Research Bureau China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) Mr. Liu Chunhang joined China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) in 2006 and has held various positions, including Deputy Director General and Director General of the Statistics Department and Director General of the Policy Research Bureau. Prior to joining CBRC, Mr. Liu worked at Morgan Stanley, McKinsey & Company, and China Industrial Development Research Centre of Peking University. Since 2011, Mr. Liu has been a member of the Standing Committee on Regulation and Cooperation of the Financial Stability Board, and has participated in the discussion and development of international financial reform policy after the financial crisis. During 2012-2015, he was Chairman of the Leverage Ratio Working Group of the Basel Committee, responsible for the development of the Basel III leverage ratio standard. Since 2015, he has been the Chair of Supervision and Implementation Group of the Basel Committee. Mr. Liu received his master and doctorate degrees in Development Studies from Cambridge University. He received his M.B.A. (Baker Scholar) degree from Harvard Business School. Jay W. Lorsch Louis E. Kirstein Professor of Human Relations Harvard Business School

Jay W. Lorsch is the Louis Kirstein Professor of Human Relations at the Harvard Business School. He is editor of The Future of Boards: Meeting the Governance Challenges of the Twenty-First Century (2012). He is the author of over a dozen books, the most recent of which are Back to the Drawing Board: Designing Boards for a Complex World (with Colin B. Carter, 2003), Aligning the Stars: How to Succeed When Professionals Drive Results (with Thomas J. Tierney, 2002), and Pawns or Potentates: The Reality of America's Corporate Boards (1989). Organization and Environment (with Paul R. Lawrence) won the Academy of Management's Best Management Book of the Year Award and the James A. Hamilton Book Award of the College of Hospital Administrators in 1969.

Having taught in all of Harvard Business School's educational programs, he was Chairman of the Doctoral Programs, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of the Executive Education Programs from 1991-1995, Senior Associate Dean and Director of Research from 1986-1991, Chairman of the Advanced Management Programs from 1980-1985, and prior to that was Chairman of the Organizational Behavior Unit. He is currently Chairman of the Harvard Business School Global Corporate Governance Initiative and

He is a member of the Board of Directors of New Sector Alliance as well as The Antioch Review National Advisory Board. He formerly served on the boards of Benckiser (now Reckitt Benckiser), Blasland Bouck & Lee Inc., Brunswick Corporation, Sandy Corporation and CA, Inc.; he also served on the Advisory Board of U.S. Foodservice. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Antioch College and Cambridge at Home, as well as the Global Advisory Board of the Women's Tennis Association.

He is a graduate of Antioch College (1955) with an M.S. degree in Business from Columbia University (1956) and a Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard Business School (1964). At Columbia, he was a Samuel Bronfman Fellow in Democratic Business Administration. From 1956-59, he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Finance Corps.

Jennifer Lucier Deputy Associate Director Reserve Bank Operations & Payment Systems Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

Jennifer A. Lucier is a deputy associate director in the Division of Reserve Bank Operations and Payment Systems at the Federal Reserve Board. She is responsible for the Financial Market Infrastructure (FMI) Risk and Policy program, the scope of which includes the development and implementation of domestic and international policies for FMIs. In this role, she represents the Board on a number of international committees, including the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI), and has participated in a wide range of working groups related to payment, clearing, and settlement issues, including the development of the CPMI-IOSCO Principles for financial market infrastructures and guidance on CCP resilience, recovery, and resolution.

Before joining the Board in 2004, Ms. Lucier served as a Special Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where she focused on clearance and settlement matters, including the development of international standards for securities settlement systems and central counterparties.

Dr. Jun MA Chief Economist People’s Bank of China (PBC) Research Bureau & Chairman of Green Finance Committee under China Society of Finance and Banking Dr. MA Jun is Chief Economist at the People’s Bank of China (PBC)’s Research Bureau, and Chairman of Green Finance Committee under China Society of Finance and Banking. Before joining the PBC in early 2014, he worked for 13 years at Deutsche Bank, where he was Managing Director, Chief Economist for Greater China, and Head of China and Hong Kong Strategy. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2000, he worked as public policy specialist, economist and senior economist at the International Monetary Fund and World Bank from 1992-2000. From 1988-1990, he was a research fellow at the Development Research Center of China's State Council. Dr. Ma has published eleven books and several hundred articles. His main research interests include macroeconomic forecasting and policies, structural reforms, as well as environmental economics. His most recent book is on Economics of Tackling Air Pollution in China. Since mid-2015, he has led the PBOC working group on green finance policy, which proposed 14 policy measures for establishing a “green finance system” in China. Dr. Ma has been frequently rated at the top in his fields by various investor polls. His accolades include the No.1 Asia economist and the No.1 China analyst in Institutional Investor’s survey for four years in a row (2009-2012), as well as many No. 1 rankings in China economics and China strategy research by Asiamoney, Thomson Reuters, and Sohu Finance. Dennis has over 20 years of experience in risk management and finance. He joined LCH from AON, where he was the CEO for Innovation and Analytics. Previous to that he was a Managing Director in Finance & Treasury and Risk at Merrill Lynch and was Director of Capital, Global Consumer Group at Citigroup.

Dennis started his finance career as a consultant in the Global Risk Management practice at McKinsey, where he focused on the risk management of Traded Products and the development of risk systems and analytical algorithms. Sebastian Molineus Director Finance and Markets Global Practice The World Bank Group Sebastian Molineus, a German national, is currently a Practice Director for the World Bank Group's (WBG) Finance & Markets Global Practice. Marnie is an industry leader and subject matter expert on central-counterparty (CCP) best practices, structures and related risk concerns, representing JPM in various external industry/trade forums, demonstrating thought leadership in CCP risk methodologies/frameworks, and recovery and resolution. Seong IL Choi Senior Director General Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) of Korea Mr. Choi Seong IL is Senior Director General who heads the supervision department in charge of fintech industry support, IT supervision, and financial consumer data protection at the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) of Korea. He was appointed to the post in July 2016. He emphasizes a need to support fintech innovations in order to revitalize the financial industry and broaden consumer choices. However, he also argues that concerted efforts are needed to prevent disruptive innovations from undermining the systemic soundness and cyber security. Prior to his current post, he headed the supervision coordination department, where he implemented supervisory reform initiatives aimed at encouraging creative entrepreneurship and “self-discipline” of the financial industry. During his tenure as the head of the banking supervision department, he led Korea’s Basel III implementation and dealt with macroprudential supervision issues pertaining to the soundness of household debt in Korea. Dr. Reshma Sheoraj Director - Financial Sector Policy National Treasury South Africa Dr. Reshma Sheoraj is currently a Director at the National Treasury of South Africa. The audit for culture team carries out deep dive audit reviews with the objective to impact behaviors and its drivers within the bank that risk the accomplishment of Strategy 2020 and the transformation RBS is in. Before joining RBS she worked as a Senior Supervisory officer in behavior and culture supervision at the Dutch central bank (DNB). Within DNB she was part of the expert team Governance, Behavior & Culture that develops and executes supervision of behavior and culture in the Dutch financial services industry. In 2016, he was Executive Fellow at the Office of Financial Research in the U.S. Treasury. For the previous four years, he was Deputy Comptroller of the Currency for Capital and Regulatory Policy, representing the Comptroller on the Basel Committee and chairing the Committee’s Supervision and Implementation Group. Jan Walliser is the Vice President for the World Bank's Global Practices covering Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions. His Vice Presidency is a “one-stop-shop” for finance ministers, central bank governors and other senior policymakers, offering clients a wide set of options to: make their economies more productive, competitive, and attractive for private investment; increase access to finance and ensure safe banking; manage their fiscal deficits and debt; get new facts on poverty; or grow their public sector management capacity. Previously, Mr. Walliser was the Director of Strategy and Operations in the Bank’s Africa Region. In this capacity, he supported the Regional Vice President in providing strategic leadership and operational guidance to staff operating in 48 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. David joined Citi in April 2013 as the Global Head of Productivity, working for CEO Mike Corbat. His responsibilities included setting challenging strategic goals for all of Citi’s Products, Geographies and Functions, and working closely with Citi’s operating committee to deliver against its top priorities. While in this role, David partnered with Citi’s executive leadership team to optimize business models, simplify organizations and industrialize end-to-end processes and capabilities across the company.
