AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR TYLER JOHANSEN

We appreciate the service and dedication that the following people have given to SPARK!

"I joined SPARK to be around friends and colleagues who shared a similar passion for helping kids. I saw SPARK as a service first networking group, whose priorities aligned with my own."

- Tyler Johansen

“Tim and Brad gave a Lunch & Learn presentation at my old workplace, and their energy and the mission of SPARK really struck a chord with me. I was looking for a nonprofit to get involved with, and the blend of service and social projects that SPARK offered really appealed to both the charitable and outgoing aspects of my personality. I signed up that day with a few other coworkers!”

- Kelly Cochran

WE HONOR SPARK CO-FOUNDERS FOR THEIR LEADERSHIP THE LAST FIVE YEARS!

SPARK began in December 2010 with a holiday service event. For the next four years, the pair led SPARK into becoming a stable and recognized group supporting the Clubs. We thank Brad & Tim for their tremendous service to SPARK and the BGCGSD!

Happy 5th Anniversary to SPARK and cheers to another great year! SPARK was incredibly busy and successful in 2015. Our Ambassadors contributed their time and talent towards each goal with utmost enthusiasm, allowing us to exceed our expectations in most every category.

SPARK organized a variety of events, including seven service and three social events to support the mission of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego. In addition to our annual Career Day, seasonal pumpkin decorating, Thanksgiving baskets, and children’s holiday party (250 toys handed out!), we were extremely proud to present Basebowl with the Padres, which raised over $40,000 in revenues. Incredibly, our Ambassadors extended themselves further to present our annual Bayside Toss and Holiday Toy Drive, which both exceeded our expectations for attendance. These events helped to spread the word about SPARK and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.

The year also brought a significant change in leadership, with SPARK co-founders Brad Owen and Tim Norris passing the torch to myself and Stacey Shea (Vice President). Brad and Tim will be sorely missed as leaders, but Stacey and I are strongly committed to carry on their passion and commitment to SPARK and the Boys & Girls Club. We have an exciting calendar of events in store for 2016, and look forward to bringing in new members and growing SPARK to further support our mission of helping kids and having fun doing it! If you have friends, family or colleagues that may be interested in our energetic group, we encourage you visit our website and join us for one of our monthly Ambassador meetings, or perhaps of our service or social events.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all Ambassadors that helped to make a difference. Here’s to future success! - Jenifer Pratt
