Teacher TipsUse this activity to introduce and practice weather expressions in Spanish. This works well for a beginning Spanish class or bilingual class. This set includes the following pages:
• Assembly Photo Page.• Vocabulary list of weather expressions in Spanish.• Vocabulary list of weather expressions in Spanish with directions to
add to an interactive notebook. Sized to fit in a composition book.• Envelope template for storing weather expressions.• Envelope template for storing weather expressions with directions to
add to an interactive notebook.• Weather picture inserts to add to envelope.• Weather expression inserts in Spanish to add to envelope.• Corresponding weather expression inserts in English to add to
envelope.• Blank circle inserts on which students can draw weather expressions
to add to envelope.• Blank circle inserts on which students can write Spanish weather
expressions to add to envelope.
Student instructions are provided on each template page.
Lesson Ideas:Introduce weather expressions to the students and have them fill in their vocabulary sheets. I use this PowerPoint to introduce the expressions. Allow students time to assemble their envelopes and prepare their inserts. Different circles are provided so that you can choose if you would like students to use the pre-filled circle inserts OR have students create their own using the blank circle templates. This also allows for differentiation options. After their envelopes are complete with their expressions, students can use this resource to match and study expressions OR play a memory matching game with a partner, where partners take one set of cards (pictures with matching expression) and turn them all facedown. They then take turns searching for matching pairs by turning over two cards at a time.
