Spanish Architecture

Were most enjoyed in the 20th Century, Particularly between 1915 and 1931 in California and Florida.

Usually two stories Most common materials used are plaster (stucco) for

walls, stone and baked brick, and glass for the windows. Features include chimney finishes, low pitch clay tile, flat

roof, terracotta or cast concrete ornaments, small porches or balconies, canvas awnings, and decorative iron trims.

Most of the lines are vertical in Spanish style homes The color is warm, mostly a shade of orange Tropical or warm feeling when you look at a spanish home Texture is smooth, but the roof is rough and bumpy There is lots of rhythm with the arches, It flows together Much balance is used because of the arches and patterns The second floor is ¾ the size of the first floor The style of spanish homes are unique, they stand out,

and are fun to look at.
