02.01.2016: Deputy Chief Polk attended a special weather webinar for potential weather this week.

02.01.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk worked on rescheduling statewide tornado drills with the school system due to bad weather coming in and also confirmed with others that the press conference was still scheduled for Wednesday February 3.

02.01.2016: Checked and changed battery for the annex weather radio.

02.01.2016: Deputy Chief Polk emailed the Spalding County Fire Department January 2016 fire scene water usage.

02.01.2016: Checked in on WebEOC for updates this web program allows for us to share real-time information before, during and after an event or emergency.

02.01.2016: Checked and updated the Local Work Plan for PPA.

02.01.2016: Shift B Engine 6 was dispatched and installed smoke detectors at 305 Vineyard Ridge Lane per the homeowner’s request.

02.01.2016: Fire Chief Kenny West congratulating Firefighter John Collier on his 15 year service award. John was hired on January 9, 2001.

02.02.2016: Chief West went to staff meeting at the Annex.

02.02.216: Deputy Chief Clark attended a CAD program demonstration.

02.02.2016: Deputy Chief Polk issued a weather radio to the CI (Captain Grainger).

02.02.2016: Engine 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 went on Pre-Fire Plans.

02.05.2016: LRC Towing donated and delivered salvage cars to be used during our Crash Victim Extrication Class.

02.06-07.2016: Crash Victim Extrication Class was held at HQ Station. Several surrounding agencies attended the class.

02.07.2016: Mrs. Joyce Powers from First United Methodist church stopped by and dropped off food for firefighters at HQ.

02.08.2016: Deputy Chief Polk changed out weather radio in the finance department at the Annex.

02.08.2016: Deputy Chief Polk issued a weather radio to the extension office (Wade Hutchison).

02.08.2016: Deputy Chief Polk issued 4 weather radios to Kelly Leger of parks and recreation for the four recreation centers.

02.08.2016: Deputy Chief Polk picked up and checked 9 weather radios from Public Works.

02.08.2016: Deputy Chief Polk submitted financial status report for the Homeland Security grant (CERT).

02.08.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk researched old newspapers for information for the Hazard Mitigation Plan Update at the Probate Court.

02.08.2016: Special Needs students from the Pike County School System toured HQ Station. There were a total of 5 kids and 4 adults.

02.09.0216: Fire Chief Kenny West congratulating Firefighter Kevin Hollums on his 10 year service award. Kevin was hired on February 9, 2006. Kevin has been married to Jenny for 21 years and has 3 children and 1 grandchild. On his off time, Kevin enjoys fishing and working on cars.

02.09.2016: Shift C personnel set up Defensive Driving Course and rotated all stations to HQ for training.

02.09.2016: Deputy Chief Polk gathered all Tornado Drill evaluation forms from Griffin and Spalding Fire Departments and forwarded to Dr. Kennedy of the school system.

02.09.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk attended the CERT Administrative Council meeting.

02.09.2016: Chief West taught CPR to A Shift Personnel and Administrative Personnel.

02.09.2016: A refund was received from Fire Programs and submitted to Jinna Garrison.

02.09.2016: An updated CERT program schedule was sent to participants.

02.09.2016: Agenda and minutes were sent to the CERT Administrative Council.

02.10.2016: Shift B personnel trained on S.O.P.s with Captain Goodman and First Aid and CPR with Chief West.

02.11.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk went to monthly area 4 EMA meeting in Peachtree City then a took a tour of the National Weather Service for the Storm Ready criteria.

02.13.2016: Shift B Squad 7 and Engine 4 at Headquarters Station for Drivers Training.

02.15.2016: Shift A Engine 6, Engine 4, Squad 3 to train over CPR / AED, Department Driver Safety practices and procedures, and trained on the Driver’s Obstacle Course.

02.15.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk met with Robby Milner regarding safe places for Fairmont, City Park and Ambucs gyms.

02.18.2016: Chief West gave telephone interviews to Fox 5, Channel 2, 11Alive, CBS 46 and Radio 107 about the structure fire involving a child fatality.

02.20.2016: Nine Boy Scouts reported to Headquarters Station for a Station Tour and the Fire Safety House.

02.22.2016: Admin personnel met at new admin building to go over office details with Terry Tardy and crew.

02.22.2016: Deputy Chief Polk spoke to Jackie Robertson in regards to the fire safety education programs that we offer with the Spalding County Fire Department.

02.23.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk attended the webinar for potential severe weather from the National Weather Service.

02.23.2016: Deputy Chief Clark took new command vehicle to Transcom for accessories.

02.23.2016: Chief West and Deputy Chief Polk worked on ESF for eLeop update.

02.23.2016: Deputy Chief Polk and Lt. White did introduction and disaster preparedness training for the CERT program that starts this date.

02.23.2016: Chief West approved to assist Julie Gates of SO to acquire turn out boots to assist with access for scene photography.

02.23.2016: Engine 7 personnel reported to Headquarters for retirement meeting.

02.23.2016: Volunteer Firefighter Daniel Adams reported to Headquarters to ride on Battalion 1 until 20:00 hours.

02.25.2016: Deputy Chief Polk, Captain Goodman, Captain Williams and Lt. White did a tour of the Griffin Water Works with Richard Shurley, Asst. Superintendent.

02.25.2016: Firefighter Odom arrived at Headquarters Station to gather equipment for new hire job task scheduled for Saturday March 5, 2016.

02.26.2016: Chief Polk and Mr. Mosley met with civic ready representatives to discuss early notification systems.

02.26.2016: Deputy Chief Polk met with Mr. Mosley and prepared a packet for the upcoming weather siren acquisition.

02.27.2016: Fire Chief Kenny West congratulating Captain Dunstan Milner on his 20-year service award. Dunstan was hired on February 27, 1996. Dunstan says he has enjoyed his 20 years working with the Spalding County Fire Department and loves helping his community. Dunstan coaches youth sports, in particular football, here in Spalding County for the last 20 years. Dunstan serves as a mentor to others and enjoys spending time with his family in his off time.

02.27.2016: Mary Meyers and her daughter Winter Meyers stopped by to do a station tour at Headquarters.

02.27.2016: A Shift Engine 6 installed a smoke detector in a home on Main St.

02.29.2016: Chief West, Deputy Chief Clark and Chief Polk worked on budget this date.

02.29.2016: Deputy Chief Polk submitted the 2016 Chesney Grant request.

02.29.2016: Deputy Chief Polk worked on the eLeop update.
