Hipparchus

• Hipparchus created the world’s first accurate star map in 130 B.C. He created this map by his own knowledge of mathematics and observations of the stars.

Galileo Galilei

• In 1609 Galileo made improvements on the telescope. With his improvements he was able to discover four of Jupiter’s moons, cycles of Venus and was one of the first to study sunspots.

8. Challenger Disaster- January 28, 1986

• After the Challenger’s devastating destruction. President Ronald Reagan comforted the nation with these words, “The crew of the space shuttle Challenger honored us by the manner in which they lived their lives. We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved goodbye and "slipped the surly bonds of earth" to "touch the face of God.“
