SP Archive Overview

SP Archive is a solution to the problem with SharePoint list limits, and you can also use SP Archive to create backup copies.

With SP Archive you can archive exactly the items and columns you wish. They are archived to a database, and you can select to either keep them in SharePoint too or remove them from the list automatically.

SP Archive supports SharePoint 2010 and above (including

Office 365 SharePoint Online) + all versions of Microsoft Access and SQL Server.

Click when you want to archive SharePoint list items

Click when you want to add or edit SharePoint sites and lists



Select list, and all lists in the selected SharePoint site will

be displayed.

Site management – add SharePoint sites to SP Archive, edit them or remove them from SP Archive.

The lists that you have added to SP Archive will be

displayed here.

Add SharePoint lists to SP Archiveor remove them from SP Archive.


Archive Dialog, List Selection


Select which list to archive items from. All lists added to SP Archive will be displayed in the dropdown.

Uncheck fields that should not be included

in the archiving.

Select the order of the fields that should be

included in the archiving.

Filter which items should be displayed/archived.

Show more or less filter options with the plus and minus buttons.

The (possibly filtered) list items with the selected fields shown in

the selected order.

All checked items will be archived.

Attachments can also be archived

Export archived items to Excel also

Check to remove archived items from SharePoint.

Database Choice


Archive to a Microsoft Access or SQL Server database.

This screen is shown the first time you archive and when you press the “Archive To”

button in the Settings dialog.
