    The Bullhorn People are Back!

What About the Bullhorns at Bike Nights? - Redux

    Dear Fellow ABATE Members,

Late last year, we had heard stories about the bullhorn people at Bike Nights. Finally, at the Bike Night last January, we were able to experience the bullhorns, forourselves. Here it is, the start of another Bike Night season, and the bullhornpeople are back!

This time, in addition to their activities at least one-half block away, they came within several feet of our outreachvenue, spewing out their message with bullhorns.

Last January, several of our motorcycling friends and family at Bike Night came to us and asked, What about thebullhorns? This time and last time, there were many complaints and concerns expressed about what seemed like avery confrontational way of presenting a salvation message, with what was described as judgment, condemnationand name calling. How should we respond, again?

To prepare our hearts for a response, lets look at some scripture.

John 12:44-49 44 Then Jesus cried out, Whoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one whosent me. 45The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come in to the world as a li ght, so tha

no one who beli eves in me should stay in dark ness. 47 If anyone hears my words but does not keep them, I do not

judge that person. For I did not come to judge the wor ld, but to save the wor ld. 48There is a judge for the one who

rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken wil l condemn them at the last day. 49 For

did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.(NIV)

At this point, while we are alive in this world, it appears that Jesus does not judge or condemn us . In fact, the

scriptures tell us in Matthew 7 (NKJV) Judge not, that you be not judged.2

For wi th what j udgment you judge, youwil l be judged; and with the measure you use, it wil l be measured back to you. 3And why do you look at the speck

in your brothers eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, Let me

remove the speck from your eye; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! F ir st remove the plank f rom

your own eye, and then you wi ll see clearly to remove the speck from your brothers eye.

God clearly knows His own word when the scriptures tell us that, All have sinned and fallen short of the glory ofGod. (Romans 3:23) The word, All means us, you, the Pope, and the bullhorn people. He clearly knows thecondition of the world, right now. He clearly knew the condition of the world when Adam and Eve committed thefirst sin of the human race.

Most of us can recite John 3:16 and 17 where the scriptures say, 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only

begotten Son, that whosoever beli eveth in him should not per ish, but have ever lasting li fe.17 For God sent not hisSon into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.(KJV)

There are many scriptures that tell us of judgment and condemnation, as we pass from here into eternity. It will bebased upon the personal decision we make for Him. But, at this point, we suggest that we should concentrate on thelove, peace, and compassionthat God is showing us and offering to us, now.

How do we respond? Respond in kindness, the same way Jesus would. Gently, ask them about the love, peace, andcompassion of our Lord. Ask if they would like to see your motorcycle. Ask them if they ride. Ask them if there isanything personal going on in their lives (finances, sickness, family issues, etc) that YOU could ask Gods

  • 7/23/2019 Southwest Chapter of ABATE of Florida December 2015

    7/20 7

intervention in! If you dont like their response(s), we suggest that you dont take it personally, just walk away, knowing that God will take of it. Pray for them!

    Jesus the Biker

He was a lot like you and me. The government didn't like Him. The church thought he was weird. His friends

were few. What friends He had, denied Him. He was persecuted by hypocrites. He hung around people like you

and me, not the goody-two-shoes Pharisees.

Yes, if Jesus were on this earth in the flesh He would be next to you on his Harley telling you He loved you......

enough to die for you. (Author unknown, taken from: activerain.trulia.com/blogsv iew/445631/jesus---would

    have-been-a-biker-)

Please pray " Dear God, the God of Abraham, I saac, and Jacob, my heavenly Father, the God of Jesus, I confessthat I am a sinner and have been separated fr om You. I am going to stop running from You . I ask forgiveness o

my sins. I repent and accept thi s gif t of repentance and I wish to be fr ee in You. I confess with my mouth that your

son Jesus is my savior and died for me. I beli eve in my heart that You raised H im fr om the dead. I receive Jesus

in to my heart and ask H im to become the center of my li fe. I ask, in the Name of Jesus. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer for the first time, and you mean it, you really have accepted Him into your heart, please let

    us know.

    Blessings,

    Legislative Report by rankie Kennedy

As we are currently not in session, there isnt a lot going on at the State level. However, heres someinformation on whats happening nationally to be aware of.

Safeguard motorcycle provisions in much-needed highway billTell Conference Committee now!

    Take Action

The Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act of 2015 is being considered by a conference committee

to reconcile the House and Senate versions. The federal Highway Bill includes good news for on- and off-highway

    motorcyclists.

Now is the time to make sure the provisions favorable to motorcyclists remain in the final bill.

Amendments and other provisions passed by the House and/or the Senate and supported by the American

    Motorcyclist Association include:

Continued funding for the Recreational Trails Program which provides funding to states for maintaining,

improving and expanding off-highway recreational opportunities

A prohibition against using federal funds for motorcycle-only checkpoints Reestablishing a Motorcycle Advisory Council to coordinate with and counsel the U.S. Department of

Transportation administrator on infrastructure concerns of particular interest to motorcyclists

Authorization for a study to be performed by the National Academies of Science on ways to prevent motorcycle

    crashes

Funding of highway safety grants that include programs to reduce distracted driving, including language that

make it easier for states to successfully qualify for and receive the money.

To ensure these amendments are included, urge your lawmaker today to keep these amendments as part of the six-

    year highway bill.

Now, more than ever, it is crucial that you and your riding friends become members of the AMA to help us protectour riding freedoms. More members means more clout against the opponents of motorcycling, and your support

will help the AMA fight for your rights on the road, trail, racetrack, and in the halls of government. To join, go to

    AmericanMotorcyclist.com/membership/join.
