Business Leisure Cards are available for all full-time employees working in the City of Southfield. With the Business Leisure Card, you will be entitled to use Southfield recreation facilities at resident rates! Bring proof of employment on company letterhead with your personnel director’s or president’s signature, or produce a current pay stub with your employer’s name and Southfield address. Cards are $30 per person; each additional family member is $3. A driver’s license and/or birth certificate must be presented by ALL applicants. Cards must be purchased in person at the Parks & Recreation building (26000 Evergreen Road).

Beech Woods Recreation CenterBeech Woods Recreation Center, the premier field house facility in metro Detroit, is nestled in the southwest corner of Southfield, on Beech Road just south of nine Mile Road. located inside the Beech Woods park, Beech Woods Recreation Center features over 17,000 square feet of gymnasium space. The Center has the capability to run three collegiate basketball games simultaneously in addition to four volleyball or tennis courts, indoor golf nets, and a complete wellness/fitness center. The Beech Woods Wellness Center is a complete workout facility providing programs designed to not only get you active now, but to keep you active for many years to come. our unique combination of personal attention, individualized exercise programs, constant monitoring and all the extras, make Beech Woods the choice for your fitness success. The Wellness Center is located within the Beech Woods Recreation Center at 22200 Beech Road (just south of nine Mile Road). The Recreation Center and surrounding park offer many diverse activities to help accent your healthier lifestyle.
Southfield Sports ArenaThe Southfield Sports Arena (located on the grounds of the Southfield Municipal Complex) is a multi-use complex with a regulation nhl ice surface and an olympic-sized outdoor swimming pool. The Arena also hosts several special events throughout the year including Family Swim parties. There is a snack bar and various vending machines on site providing refreshments. Summer brings the opening of the pool, along with Family pool parties! in addition to the olympic sized pool, there is a children’s spray pool, climbing wall and 120-foot waterslide. Swim lessons are offered for ages three and up throughout the summer and season swim passes are available for individuals and families. The pool is available for rental for birthday and graduation parties as well as neighborhood gatherings. The Sports Arena ice rink is the perfect place for families wanting to spend time together exercising and having fun! in addition to General Skate hours there are drop-in hockey opportunities as well. Burgh Historical ParkThe Burgh historical park is one of Southfield’s hidden gems. located on the northeast corner of Civic Center Drive and Berg Road the park features renovated turn of the century buildings nestled within beautiful manicured lawns and abundant flower gardens offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Gazebo Concert Seriesheld each year at the Gazebo at the Burgh historical park, these concerts have become a staple of the summer season, not only for Southfield, but for oakland County.
Special Occasion and Wedding Rental OptionsCome see how your next event can be “Better at the Burgh.” Available for outdoor and indoor events, the Burgh historical park offers a unique venue for your wedding, graduation party, family reunion, Bar or Bat Mitzvah or retirement party. The picturesque Gazebo and the Thomas Frommeyer Memorial Gardens Courtyard offer two distinct options for weddings and other important social occasions. Golf classes, both group and private, are offered year-round for novice as well less advanced golfers in addition to numerous tournaments held throughout the golf season to allow you the opportunity to show off those new skills!
Evergreen Hills Golf Courseevergreen hills Golf Course, located at the Southfield Municipal Complex at 26000 evergreen Road, is a 2,904 yard, par 34 course with beautifully landscaped greens. A pro shop featuring supplies for every golfer is also located on site. Beech Woods Golf CourseThe Beech Woods Golf Course is a beautiful 2,778 yard, par 35 course that includes a 50-tee, lighted driving range with 30 tees covered and heated, and a pGA professional on staff. private and group lessons are offered. A well-stocked pro shop is located on the grounds featuring everything from balls and gloves to clubs, bags and shoes as well as club repair including re-gripping and re-shafting. Beech Woods Driving Range improve your skills by visiting the 50-tee driving range located at Beech Woods Golf Course (22202 Beech Road, south of nine Mile Road). The Southfield public library serves the community by providing unparalleled services, resources, programs and numerous public meeting spaces. The library is a state-of-the-art facility that on average receives over 2,000 visitors daily. The Southfield public library’s many amenities include two computer labs; a sophisticated computer network with hundreds of data drops and Wi-Fi (Wireless internet) access; numerous meeting rooms; two auditoriums; 16 group study rooms; three outdoor terraces; fireplaces on each level; the Bookends Café; and stunning architectural and interior design. The Southfield public library also offers several computer classes monthly, ranging from Computer Fundamentals to Microsoft office software training for people at all levels of computer literacy. Additionally, the library recently completed the renovation of the youth room, added new early literacy computer stations, expanded shelving in the picture book collection and young adult areas.
