• 395.3(a) No motor carrier shall permit or require any driver used by it to drive a property-carrying commercial motor vehicle, nor shall any such driver drive a property-carrying commercial motor:

Requirements (a) Applicability: trucks, truck tractors,

semitrailers, full trailers, and pole trailers.(b) Prevention against loss of load: secured

to prevent leaking, spilling, blowing, or falling.

(a) The minimum number of tie downs required to secure an article of cargo depends on the length of the article(s) being secured, requirements of paragraphs (b) and (c). These requirements are in addition to 393.106.
