SAWMA 2015 - Responsible wildlife management: A key to biodiversity conservation

Rationale Due to increasing pressures on our biodiversity from current environmental issues such as renewable energy developments, poaching, legislative developments, economic decline, etc. the need for responsible management is of key importance to ensure the protection of our existing wildlife resources.

A balance needs to be obtained between conservation and developmental needs to ensure sustainable utilisation of our natural resources.

Therefore, the need for game farmers, managers, wildlife scientists, conservation agencies, policy makers, students and politicians to work together to ensure long term conservation of southern Africa’s biodiversity through responsible wildlife management is crucial.

Sponsorship Attending a scientific conference is a costly undertaking. The event was organized with the viewpoint of offering it at the lowest possible registration rates and students in particular are paying a rate that will be much lower than the actual costs. Without sponsorship to partially cover some of the costs, the lower fees would not be possible. With the above in mind we, the organisers, would be honoured if you would accept our invitation to be an integral part of the Southern African Wildlife Management Symposium. We will provide opportunities for sponsorship that will enhance your visibility in the scientific and wildlife management community.

Displays Opportunities for displaying your

products/services are available at the

event. Please contact Elma Marais at

[email protected] to find out about

the costs and available space.
