“You have cancer for the second time,” my doctor said. I simply stared into space and wondered how this could be happening to me again. I’d

received a diagnosis of Breast Cancer, some 8 years since my first cancer diagnosis of Malignant Melanoma. At 36, the mother of a 4 year old, I simply wanted to know if I’d survive. My journey into incredible healing began right then, in that room. I began research into healing modalities and made some significant changes in my life. Self care became a priority, so I changed my diet and explored my spirituality more deeply. Then I made the amazing discovery of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). It seemed such a simple method, I found myself wondering – can EFT really work?

Not knowing how to tackle such a huge health issue as cancer, I decided to try a simple EFT ‘tapping’ technique for my sinus problem. I was totally amazed when the problem disappeared after just two sessions. Of course, now my interest was peaked and I discovered some amazing EFT facts:

EFT has been shown to eliminate negative emotions about an event, even many years later

Researchers in the Philippines found that EFT produced a 72% reduction in depression after just four sessions

Harvard Medical School research showed that EFT reduces blood flow to the Amygdala in the brain, producing more endorphins and calmer feelings overall. EFT is highly effective for reducing stress and general anxiety Risk factors for serious illnesses are increased by stress, and some say that emotional distress from the past is a contributing factor. I therefore decided to seek the help of an EFT professional to deal with these deep rooted feelings. The change in me was profound after just one EFT session. I was finally able to release issues from my childhood and early adult life, I felt so much lighter!

EFT helps a person to heal from serious illness by addressing deeper

emotional issues, combined with transforming negative feelings about the experience now. Fear and anger feelings are dramatically reduced, allowing the person space for real healing on many levels. My experience with EFT was so profound, I decided to become an EFT practitioner. Today, I help clients with a range of issues, including serious illnesses, social anxiety, depression, stress, addictions and more. I run a local cancer support group and volunteer my EFT services to other charitable groups. I am so very grateful to be healthy now, in mind, body and spirit.

A flower essence is the vibrational imprint of a flower in water. It is then bottled and stabilized for potential long

term use. Flower essences allow awareness and provide an opportunity for us to release and resolve limiting ways of

behavior. They allow us to create harmony within

ourselves and heal physically, and emotionally. In this state we are in alignment with who we truly are.

Flower essences support us in expanding our

consciousness, and connect us with an understanding of our

emotional and spiritual needs. This allows us to experience

a greater over all well being. The use of flower essences has been in existence for

centuries. Documentation has been discovered that the Druids used them and flowers preserved in honey have

been found in the tombs of Egypt. It is also known that

In the early 1930's Dr. Edward Bach, a British Homeopath,

selection of 38 flowers, began a process of infusing the energy found in them with water. He documented in

writing these 38 flowers and the effect they had on his

patients. He found that treating his patients from a total mind, body, spirit perspective that healing happened with

very positive results. He researched the history of using flower infused waters and reintroduced this ancient

healing art for our modern times.

Today flower essences are not limited to what was created long ago. Many new essences have been created all over

the world. Flowers are selected and still researched for the healing qualities that they hold. Collections are obtained

and utilized by holistic healers world wide. Some are

created by Spiritual guidance and the needs of clients. Some favorites that I like to utilize are the Australian Bush

You walk through a beaded curtain into a small room, smoky with incense, candlelight flickering across shelves

full of the obscure and the occult. An old woman sits across from you, shuffling a tattered deck, her vestige

warped through the large crystal ball sitting on a small round table. This is what most people image a visit to a

seer entails, and some do make great efforts to present this image, but how do you select a seer, and how can you

get the most from your readings. The first step is understanding the various types of readings available and what

type of information they tend to reveal.

Tarot Tarot readers use a deck of cards, laid out in a specific pattern to divine future events. A

typical deck consists of seventy-eight cards divided into four suits of fourteen and a group

of 22 cards known as the Major Arcana. Each card displays a picture, pattern or symbol

that represents the esoteric meaning of the card.

This is an example of the Temperance card from the Classic Rider-Waite tarot deck.

The card may mean a need to bring balance to a situation, a call for restraint, finding your

center, and moderation.

In a typical reading the seer will have you shuffle the deck, have you cut the deck, and

select a number of cards. They will then take these cards and lay them down in a specific

pattern that could be as simple as placing three to five cards in a row, to complex patterns

of spirals, crosses, stars or pyramids. The seer with then go through the reading telling

you the significance of the cards and the position they are in and will allow time for

questions.

Tarot readings typically view a possible series of events starting with the immediate past

up to the next six to twelve months. The time allotted, complexity of the reading, and

how the cards fall all effect the timeframe involved but a Tarot reading is best used to see

the immediate future and possibilities arising from specific situations.

Oracle or Angel Cards Very similar to tarot cards, Angel and Oral decks use a series of cards laid out

in a specific order. Unlike Tarot though, Angel and Oracle decks can be of any

size and do not adhere to any general structure. They can use the symbolism

from anything from animals to ancient gods. They usually have a brief

description on the card to help guide the reader.

This is Prosperity from the Archangels Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue. The

meaning is clearly written on the cards of this deck and can be used to inspire

further insight.

A typical reader will usually talk to you prior to using to the deck to root out

the specific issues you seek to address and where the roadblocks lie. They may

then have you shuffle the deck and select a few cards, usually one to five, to

help gain insight to the solution to that problem. Often an Oracle reading

consists of sever shorter readings each focusing on specific issues the seeker

wishes to know about.

Oracle cards are usually used to address or identify specific challenges in a

seeker's life. A good reader can delve into the past very well and can shed light

upon issues the seeker is currently experiencing. Oracle readings can also give

the seeker an idea of personal goals that will help them along their path.

Palmistry Palmistry is an ancient divination

method with ancient Hindu,

Oriental and Roma (Gypsy) roots.

A palm reader uses the lines,

shapes, and other features of the

seeker's hand to get a vision of

their character and future life. A

typical reading starts with the seer

reading your dominant hand. They

well look at the shape of your hand,

the lines in the palm, wrist and

fingers and the mounds (high areas) on the palm. They may

also take other features, such as fingernails, fingerprints, skin

coloration, and hand temperature into account depending on

their technique. They may then do the same to your other

hand, comparing the differences between the two.

Palmistry offers a view of both a person's character

and life path. A good reading will be able to identify major

life events in the seekers past and give a general idea of when

other major events may happen in the future. It can also give

some idea of current and future health issues. This type of

reading is best for a long-term picture of your life.

Astrology Astrology is an ancient practice of divining your life's path

based on the position of the stars, planets and moon at the

time of your birth. Most of us are familiar with Western

Astrology that focuses on the twelve constellations of the

Zodiac, but there is also a Eastern system that uses a sixty

year cycle of years using five elements and twelve animals.

Though both have very distinct flavors and offer different

insights, the typical readings are similar

An astrology reading starts when you set your appointment.

The reader will ask your date, time, and location of your birth

so they can create a chart showing the position of the heavens

at the moment of your birth. This information should be as

accurate as possible as small changes in time can have

significant impact on the accuracy of the chart. Your specific

chart will be given to you at the reading and the astrologer

will explain how all the elements go together. Because of the

amount of information that will

be provided, it is recommended

that you take notes. Additional

readings can be scheduled to

focus on how existing and

upcoming astrological events

might affect your life.

Astrology has the advantage of

giving both a perspective on

your personality and general

life patterns as well as how to

handle short-term astrological events.

Other Types of Divination These forms of divination are often used as quick readings or as

part of a longer reading consisting of a couple methods.

All look to answer specific questions and short term

future events.

Tea Leaves Tea leaf reading started out in ancient times as reading

wine sediment from the bottom of a glass. The Greeks and

Turks later adapted the practice of reading coffee grounds

and in the 17th century, as tea was introduced to

England the same methods were applied to tea

leaves.

A typical reading starts rather informally by

sharing a cup of tea or coffee brewed with loose

leaves or grounds in the cup. You'll drain your cup as

far as possible without drinking the leaves then be asked

to swirl the cup three times and then invert it quickly over

the saucer. After giving time for the liquid to settle of the cup

the reader will gaze into it seeking patterns and letters in the

remaining sediment that they will interpret.

Runes Rune casting first appeared as a

form of divination in Germanic

tribes of the first century where

men would slice down branches

into round slabs, mark them and

cast them upon a blanket.

Modern runes are based on the

alphabet of the second century

Proto-Norse called Elder Futhark.

Runes are usually cast from a bag and the reader might take a

handful and throw them out onto a table or into a box, or they may

have you draw a number and place them along a specific pattern,

usually three in a row, a cross made of five, or a nine rune grid.

They will then be interpreted by meaning and position.

I Ching The I Ching has been used for more than five thousand years as

an Eastern form of divination. It is

based on various patterns of six lines

that create sixty-four distinct patterns.

An I Ching reading starts by focusing

on a specific open ended question and

tossing three coins six times. The

reader will make a notation of how the

coins fall and consult the

corresponding hexagram to determine

the answer to the question or how it

fits into your current situation.

Welcome to our new column on SS and CC Metaphysics! Tom a gifted psychic and

medium with over 12 years experience, Nancy a noted astrologer and psychic with over 14 years experience. Together they are Cienna Moon. It’s HE SAID/SHE SAID where the

advice is always free and the answers “divine”.

Our first question for this column is by J. (a Leo). They ask, ”I may have to choose between two

people (both Aquarians), one has been in my life a long time, the other is pretty new. At the

risk of misleading and hurting anyone, I think I may have to choose. Which is the right choice”?

HE SAID:

The first thing I see is you dancing with both at the same time but

very different experiences. Around one the dance I'm seeing a very

deep seated, almost middle-eastern feel to it. He or she's also put

their own modernized step on it and this shows in strobe light

snapshots but returns back to the traditional steps in between. The

second Aquarian is less traditional and more unstructured in their

dance, they seem to be just be-bopping around moving to the beat. A

little policeman shows up (looking like something out of the

Roaring 20's era) his small stiff movements make him looks like a

Charlie Chaplin-esque scene playing out. One of the Aquarians is

turning and as they do they show the face and body of a lion as their

back-side. This feels like the more dynamic part to them that is in

flux due to other influences. Both people have some insecurity

issues that are coming to the surface now and the middle-eastern

feeling one seems to disappear into the scenery only to emerge later.

There is also someone watching at a distance trying to decide to

make a move or not. I sense no matter which way you move there

will be hurt feelings but that is part of life that teaches us all. I

pulled some cards from the Avalon Deck for the first Aquarian I got

the 7 of Swords which would signify scruples( being truthful to all

including yourself ) and doing the right thing. You seem to be

walking a path between the past wreckage and high security walls.

The mirror card to it is the Fool which would mean taking a leap of

faith. For the second Aquarian The cards are The sun which is your

card being a Leo, This would mean your time to shine and direct

action. The mirror card to it is the 9 of Cups which often signifies

bartending your emotions and being careful to serve enough but not

too much,, you don't want to become too intoxicated or

intoxicating.

SHE SAID:

I suspect the answer may be made for you. I sense the

longer relationship person knows something is up. I feel

like they are dealing with something themselves, perhaps a

health issue, that keeps them from putting as much energy

towards your relationship as they once did. For some rea-

son I see them with a broken or hurt left foot. Not sure if

this is real or metaphor. They feel hobbled. The newer

connection feels temporary like they aren’t going to stay

around for the long-term. Since both are Aquarians I ex-

pect some sudden changes in the upcoming Uranus

shift on 12/13/12. One will be gone, the other will be

around but aware of what has gone on. I feel like you will

lose a relationship with both but maintain a friendship with

one. As I was writing this I heard psychically, “you’re not

ready”. Perhaps a good friendship could be better than a

deeper relationship at this time in your life. Feels like you

have a big challenge ahead for you with work or authority

blockage. You may have to deal with that first before fo-

cusing on relationships. By 2/3/13 I feel like you will

know where your best relationship option is for the year

ahead. I get someone new but familiar in someway perhaps

either a past life connection or childhood acquaintance.

This is a great time for achievement to be

done. As within you can feel this feeling of Victory building, as your contributions are

moving to more public acknowledgement. The Angels want to remind you that your

thoughts are all an investment, align them with Love, peace and harmony, and at your

request they will gladly assist in keeping your energies in tune with higher

frequencies. Feel gratitude within your spirit, think of your desires, and rise up to

be the type of person you want to attract into your life. As you keep attuned to the

higher positive frequencies those people and situations of lower vibration seemingly

fall away. The Angels can assist you with

dealing with these endings and the new beginnings that are ahead for you.

through the steps you can take to change things even with one simple step.

Your Prayers have been heard, but your

happiness doesn’t depend on anything outside of yourself. Choose to be happy

now, focus upon everything and everyone

that you feel thankful for. Allow yourself to experience joy and pleasure. Take control of

your life and prevent outside influences and disturbances from determining how you feel,

and just detach from the Drama. Whatever it is you have been putting off. Now is the

time to stop hesitating, stand tall and leap forward. Embrace the boundless possibilities

that are before you. Whatever it is you have been wishing for, waiting for this is the right

time to move forward. You may feel a little fear within you, but grab hold of it and face

them, with a calm and clear gaze and just go for it. You have the ideas, self discipline and

drive required for it, yet you have hesitated

because you have held self-doubt. Your Angels want you to know that you DO HAVE

IT!! So take action as you are guided, and fully commit to succeeding. As whatever

them, as they will appear naturally into your life, but allow your divine guidance to direct

your relationship (whether it is romantic, friendship or business related) to manifest in

the magical ways it is intended to. As your prayers are being answered, in part by those

who are entering into your life.

You have a reason to hold onto hope and to

feel hope and happy expectations, to feel optimistic and excited, because brighter

times are ahead for you, and the challenging ones are behind you. Take the time to

reflect, but also envision exactly the way you

want your life to be, and take action into that direction. Trust and follow your intuition as it

It has come as no surprise to me that I have been asked to write December 2012’s

numerology article on this infamous date. To quickly do the math and see what we are looking at the Universal Year is a 5, the Universal Month is an 8, and the Universal Day is an 11/2.The first thing I notice about this is that it is a time when all cycles are from the same concord group, and that speaks of things going, well, easily. Numerologists differ on what exactly the concord groups are. Some will say the three groups are 1, 4, and 7; 2, 5 and 8; 3, 6, and 9. Others say, 1, 5, and 7; 2, 4, and 8; and finally, the 3, 6, and 9 one remains the

same. Personally, I rely on the natural order of things rather than psychoanalyzing the numbers and saying “this one goes with that one” – the math and patterns found in math is what numerology is all about and I believe numerologists who mess with that and rearrange the natural order to suit themselves are making an error in numerology. Having said that, following the pattern the correct concords are: 1, 4, 7 ` 2, 5, 8 ` 3, 6, 9 As you can see the 5 Year, 8 Month and 2 Day are in perfect concord with each other and that first little sign tells me it’s going to be a good, right and perfect universal cycle. But the question is, perfect for what? The 5 indicates a year of change. By December that is pretty much over though as the 5 is almost gone and the upcoming 6 cycle is going to be more of what a person feels in December. The 6 cycle is one of nurturing and caring. It’s about taking our responsibilities seriously and doing our best to meet them in a kind and loving fashion. December, in an 8 cycle, is a month of power with a strong desire and the drive and ambition to succeed. It’s fair to say we don’t want Earth falling apart and all are highly motivated to see her continued existence and success. The deal with the 8 is that you have to be ethical, fair and just in your actions. If you’re not, the success that does come will be fleeting and lost to you in short order. Eight is a number of karma – what you put in, is what you will get out. I would advise everyone to be certain of their motivations during an 8 cycle, if they aren’t above reproach, change them. Once again, like with the year, by the 21st of the month the 8 cycle is going to begin winding down and the next cycle will start coming into power. Normally a 9 cycle follows the 8 cycle and the 9 cycle is one about completion and endings. However, this is a special time of year and with a change in both the year and month cycle come January 1st, the new 6 year of nurturing is going to be teamed with a 7 month of quiet introspection. This is not surprising considering all that hoopla around this infamous date we are now getting close to arriving at. When we are still all here and intact come the new year we are going to be settling down from the big scare that all might end on this date and when we find ourselves still here we will find ourselves going within to determine just what it is we want and we’ll spend the 7 cycle re-evaluating things and getting ready for another powerful and active 8 cycle in February, where once again, our ethics are going to matter a whole lot. If I were to make predictions by the 9 ending cycle of March we are going to be ripe for a new start come spring/April which will be a 1 month – a time of new beginnings. On the 21st of December, for a 24 hour period, we are going to be in an 11/2 cycle. The 11 is the number of illumination, and the 2 is the number of cooperation, of working together as a team. Or if our response to the cycle is negative, then it could be a very difficult day full of arguments, discord and an inability to get along. Whatever this date brings, we have the power to see either the best of it or the worst of it – it all comes down to personal choice. We can either be highly ethical in all we do and be helpful towards each other while embracing the changes we see and arrive at the best case scenario or we can choose the opposite by being power hungry at all costs and all about ourselves and deal with those consequences. The choice is ours. It always has been and always will be. On this Earth, and in this life, precious little is written in stone. Make what you will of December 21st, 2012. And the light is at the end of the tunnel! We made it! Last month we discussed how Scorpio brought about a great deal of transformation, perhaps to many areas of your life. November truly showed us where we needed to evolve. Anything that required change came to the surface, whether we wanted it to, or not. Chances are the most necessary changes were ones that we weren’t too keen on making. The first two weeks of December is still within the cycle of bringing forth areas where change is needed. So much has changed since the beginning of autumn; a few months can feel like years when there is that much going on! This period of transition is all in preparation to raise the vibration of everyone on the planet towards the Mahatma, love without condition, freedom from fear, vibration. This energy is transforming every one of us. The new moon in Sagittarius heralds in a time of new beginnings; the fresh start after all those changes you’ve gone through. Sagittarius also inspires a spiritual awakening, or a rekindling of faith. One could even see this as the light shining at the end of a dark, dark tunnel. This is the glimmer of hope toward a bright future, and lends perspective to focus on the bigger picture. This moon allows you trust a bit more in what the universe, or Creator, has in store for you. You will

push outwards and upwards because your limits are being lifted. You may even feel lighter. You are no longer restricted by the boundaries you have put up for yourself in the past. A good mantra for this month is: I expand, I grow, and reach without limitation or expectations. Expectations only prevent you from exceeding them. Putting up a ceiling that goes only so high makes it difficult to break beyond the limits you’ve worked so hard to build up. An expectation is a

Whenever preparing for a full moon in a water sign, it is always good to be aware of the possibility of “waves”…even “emotional tsunamis.” If there is a surge of emotions, it is only to expose a truth that needs to come to the light. This will actually be a relief, as you don’t need to continue to bottle these feelings up. These are the times that, if you have been internalizing your emotions, there will be an overflow. With the new moon in Sagittarius followed by a full moon in Cancer, you should monitor yourself and observe what truths you conceal vs. the ones you present. There is no need to conceal any truth.
