Stella has introduced a new initiative – ‘yourtutor’ (an online tutor) to help Years 9 to 12 students requiring assistance with their work. Students attended a presentation on Tuesday to show them how ‘yourtutor’ is used. They have been sent an email to their school email account containing their password which enables access to the online tutor. For more information visit www.stellar.edu.au/yourtutor. If students still require help with access they are to see their teacher or their Year Advisor. Reconciliation Week This week is Reconciliation week and remembrance of Sorry Day. We celebrated this with a concert which was attended by Year 9, 10 and 11 students. Also the “Three Mobs, One River Education kit” was introduced. The kit gives detailed information of the cultural and factual history of Indigenous people of the Clarence Valley. It will be introduced across all key learning areas and brings community people into the school to deliver some of the content. The Three Mobs are Gumbangyirr (South of the Clarence River), Bunjulung (North of the Clarence Valley) and Yagel (Yamba and surrounding Coast) University Visits Year 12 are attending Universities for HSC enrichment days next week. On Monday and Tuesday they will be going to the University of New England and on Thursday they will be going to Southern Cross University at Lismore. The enrichment days are very valuable, and gives students an insight to the level they must work at to attain Band 5's or 6's in the HSC, therefore we encourage all Year 12 students to attend. These trips are subsidised by the school to increase access for the students.
