Make a real difference

At any time an average of 450 baboons of varying ages

are housed at the centre , so there is lots going on, and

we do need your help!

The majority of the babboons will be released in time,

but there are also a small number of sanctuary cases —

those animals rescued from labs, often too older or in-

jured (physically or mentally) to be rehabilitated for life

back in the wild. Most of the animals that arrive at are

babies, orphaned after their mothers were shot, trap-

ped, poisoned, or otherwise killed, usually by humans.

They need tender love and care.

The main focus is the hands on care of the baby and ju-

venile baboons. The daily tasks of caring for them inclu-

de preparing food and milk, cleaning their play enclosu-

res, playing, supervising, and observing them throug-

hout the day, and preparing blankets and soft toys for

their sleeping cages in the evenings.

This is not a glamorous job! You will get dirty, but it is

very rewarding!

We needs volunteers to help hand-raise baby baboon orphans.

We need you to assist with the rehabilitation of baboons which

spent up to 13 years of their life in a lab-cage and to help animals

which have been rescued from all sorts of circumstances. To be

part of the animals healing; bonding with the baboons in a way

that is incomprehensible to most, watching them grow in confi-

dence, and to witness them becoming wild, sociable animals

again, is an experience with unparalleled rewards; that your will

never forget.
