It is surrounded by Burr Creek, Long Island Sound, Bridgeport Harbor, Downtown and West Side/West End. Interstate 95 and the railroad tracks run through the neighborhood. Commercial ar- eas exist along Park Avenue and State Streets. The South End is composed of census tracts 704 and 705; Bridgeport City Council district 131; Connecticut Senatorial District 23 and Connecticut Assembly Dis- trict 130. As with all of Bridgeport, this neighborhood falls within the 4th United States Congressional Dis- trict. This neighborhood is known for Seaside Park, the lon- gest stretch of municipal park within the state, and University of Bridgeport. Residential uses are typical- ly multi-family, with pockets of single-family cottages or brownstones thrown into the mix. Several large apartment and condominium complexes are found throughout the South End. The South End is also home to several industrial uses along Cedar Creek.
