On April 17 Capers and Sounders held a joint social atDan and Norma Knight’s. If you missed the party you
missed a great time. Everyone that attended enjoyed thenew faces and great conversation on a very special evening.
We hope that we can do this again for the ChristmasCapers in December. Please keep your eyes out for thatevent.
On Saturday, April 16, three of our youth, along with Laura Wellsand I, got to experience a once in a lifetime moment. We traveled
to Trinity Center, a place very familiar to our youth, for aconference called Go Beyond Green. What was most memorableabout this conference was that a group of selected youth (20 peoplein all) from our diocese got to meet the Presiding Bishop of theEpiscopal Church, Katherine Jefferts Schori. For three hours ourgroup talked with the Presiding Bishop about things as simple as
where she has traveled; to whether or not faithful people of other
religions go to hell. We also had the opportunity to walk aroundthe marshland with the Presiding Bishop and learn about God'screation. From my perspective, Bishop Jefferts Schori, was agracious, intelligent, and genuine person. Below you can read theimpressions of our Presiding Bishop that our Youth received fromthe conference.
Nathanial Hanson: She was down to earth, and so easy to talk to.It felt like she had been a member of our group for a long time. The way she answered questions by asking questions was really awesome.
Donny Ross: Simple, normal person. I liked the baseball analogy.(There was a question about whether someone can be a faithfulChristian and not be a part of a community church. The answer
was "Can you be a baseball player without a team?")
Lauren Hedrick : Down to earth, open minded, related thingsabout Christianity to loving your neighbor, your God, and yourcommunity. She defined church as a community gatheredtogether in prayer not as a defined building.
We will join St. Peter's Washington, NC YouthGroup for a two night mission trip to La SagradaFamilia. We will work with the Farmworker camps, get to know other youth from our diocese (St.Peter's), sing lots of songs, and learn what it means tobe a servant of God. Please feel free to invite a friend.Cost for this event will be $50 per person.
Currently there are still a few spaces in some of the
camp sessions for summer 2011! If you are interestedin sending your child to camp – or know a child that would love to go – please contact our Camp Trinity Registrar, Stephanie Rudolph, immediately tosee what is still available! You may download the2011 application off of our website:

*see the previous page for a list of those in the Adult Choir
Our adult choir has grown from ten to twenty-three members includingthree student section leaders from UNCW and CFCC. Their ability hasstrengthened the choir and made it more attractive for others to
join. The ages of the members range from twenty to ninety. Some havesecured music degrees, some are in the process, and still others areamateurs. All join together for the joy of singing.
From September through May the choir rehearses for an hour and a half
each Thursday evening and for forty-five minutes on Sunday morning. Traditionally the full choir sings at the eleven o'clock service. Recently, volunteers have added the nine o'clock service to theirschedule on the first Sunday of the month. On Palm Sunday and EasterSunday the full choir is present at both services. During the summermonths, the choir rehearses only on Sunday morning.
The choir is under the direction of Richard Rhoads, Minister of
Music. Richard is celebrating his 50th year as a church musician. Hebegan his career at the age of fourteen.
At this the conclusion of a particularly busy season let us offer a welldeserved "thank you" to Richard and the entire adult choir for all the
hours spent and talent offered to enhance our time of worship. Andthanks be to God!
What a great Easter season we had at preschool. The childrenbegan with their first Ash Wednesday service and had such

As soon as we get back from spring break we will begearing up for the annual Airlie Field trip and the end of the yearprogram. It will be Wednesday May 18th at 11 am. Please comeand join us.
