Sony is a global conglomerate that originated in Japan and was founded on the 7th of May 1946 by Masaru Ibuka.The company is primarily focused electronics but they also focus on the music industry and financial service sectors.Conglomerate is a company that is used on a global scale.

Synergy and Horizontal Integration

Synergy is where two different companies work together to help each other to promote their product.Horizontal Integration is where a company cross-promotes an artist through its other subsidiaries.Most companies use integration to promote there product as it expands the target audience that their product appeals to.

Katy B and Sony

Katy B is signed by Sony music and also cross promotes sony’s headphones. Katy B’s target audience is 16-19 year olds in the United Kingdom. This expands the target audience to a female audience and a older audience.

Taylor swift

This is an advert that Sony synergized with Taylor Swift for their new camera. This would hopefully expand Sony’s target audience to a younger audience. Also Taylor Swift is very popular globally and is listened to all over the world. This would allows Sony’s product to appeal to a huge audience with little effort.
