ITRI SON solution for smart antenna application

ITRI’s SON Server

ITRI’s SON Server to compute the transmission power and beam

pattern of each small cell by ITRI Smart Antenna CCO algorithm,

and to provide the optimal coverage and avoid the interference.

Each small cell informs the location information

to SON Server if turned on.

SON Server remote settings the transmission

power and beam pattern for each small cell.

Smart antenna at corridor (2/3)• The performance measurement results of Smart Antenna indoor field LOS test

– Compare the SINR and RSRP performance of omni-directional antenna, smart antenna (with one antenna A1 ON) and smart antenna (with five antennae A1~A5 ON) in the same transmission power

» Measurement result:

• LOS: omni-directional antenna > smart antenna(A1~A5)

• NLOS: omni-directional antenna > smart antenna(A1~A5)

Reason: The gain of smart antenna (with one antenna ON) is about 5db, and it decreases to 3db with five antennae ON, however,

the gain of omni-directional antenna is about 5db.
